Back to Garufa again--actually 2 times this trip! After a full day of travel, and multiple long flights it was music to my ears when my husband asked if I wanted dinner at Garufa or just some snacks from the Oxxo--we can easily guess which option I picked. The view from the outside seating is a nook with trees-- it's very calming. If you're out on the weekend you are likely have have a local street band serenade you in a street during your dinner (music ranges from guitar and vocals to full Mexicano bands, trumpets included). The meal starts with a selection of breads and chimichurri, oil marinated white beans, and a picante salsa. Each time we visit we share a bottle of red between the two of us and the staff keeps the vino flowing. My favorite order is the "Lomo Argentino" a steak at about 400g. I've branched out before but if you're looking for a steak that is filling, cuts like butter, and has a beautiful crust, the Lomo Argentino is for you. On our second visit to Garufa on this trip, we went for a dessert--not our typical scene but we were feeling the vino. We ordered a chocolate ganache with a red fruit grenita, probably not their premier dessert, but we chose it because it was the most low carb option. read more

The food is outstanding, service mediocre at best. Unfortunately, we arrived when all employees wanted to leave, and it was quite obvious. Price matches the quality of the food, wine is not the forte anywhere in Zacatecas, so it was just ok. Only cash during COVID, which was EXTREMELY inconvenient. read more

Argentinean style grill. Servers not very friendly but get the job done. Good prices. The entres were ok. La chistorra served just warm and the pizza was not very good. The crust is crunchy but lacking flavor. Thick tomato sauce, little cheese and almos no topping. The meat however was spot on and is the only thing why I give three stars instead of two. The location is the best thing about this place. If you five it a try, ask to be seated in the front patio (if the weather allows it of course). read more
