We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Tom Honey and his staff. He is truly the most compassionate veterinarian we have ever met. During a very difficult time with our Yorkie, Dr. Honey and his entire team treated her with such genuine kindness, patience, and tender loving care. They took the time to explain everything clearly, made sure she was comfortable at every step, and supported us with empathy and understanding. You can tell this clinic truly cares about animals and their people -- not just as patients, but as family. We are incredibly grateful for the care our little one received and would highly recommend Dr. Tom Honey and his staff to anyone looking for a vet who is skilled, professional, and deeply compassionate. read more

Dr. Honey and his team have been an extraordinary help since my dog had some complications (pancreatitis, inflammation from diet intolerence, and a mass on her spleen all at once) about a year ago. They saved her life when she needed an emergency splenectomy, and we were crunched for time to get her pancreatitis under control first...I am forever grateful. My dog means the world to me, and I cannot express my gratitude enough! I have always been pleased with the vet care I have received at various places in town, however many vets in town do not offer 7 day a week service, and I was lucky that GVH were open when we needed to be seen urgently on a Sunday. Also, once stabilized from the pancreatitis, I was so glad to not have to transport my dog to the city to have her spleen-removal surgery, as she was in very fragile condition (due to the spleen-mass membrane being so thin), and I would not have wanted to make the drive with no medical supports for her en route. Dr. Honey and his team were able to perform the surgery locally and had the technology and precautions in place should blood transfusions be required etc. Dr. Honey was incredibly sensitive to my concerns and walked me through the whole process. He made an extremely scary and emotional time bearable, and demonstrated so much compassion. A year and a bit later, I continue to receive comprehensive options for my dog's ongoing care, as various different concerns have come up...as they tend to with middle-aged/ senior dogs. I have confidence that Dr. Honey will share info/options when it can benefit his patients. I've noticed some other comments about people feeling they are sometimes being told they need extra unnecessary tests etc.... but I appreciate Dr. Honey's comprehensive care, and feel supported in making the best possible decision for my beloved pet, based on having all the facts....and sometimes it's hard to have the facts without the testing etc...I can appreciate this :) Thank you so much Dr. Honey and Team for taking such good care of us! read more

I moved here 6 months ago and looked for a vet, I read reviews and decided to take my senior dog in for a check up. Checkups in the city typically run around 200 dollars. I left with a bill for 435 dollars and booked for dental surgery to have a broken tooth removed. I was given a quote for 1500. I was also sent home with ear drops for an ear infection to put in his ears once a day. The cost of the war drops 75 dollars . They lasted two days that's what you get for 75 dollars. Surgery day came and I picked up my dog oh he know had two have two teeth beside the broken one pulled the surgery went from 1500 to 2300 dollars. A 53 percent increase over their estimate. I was told they wanted to see him in two weeks to check on the surgery. I phoned to confirm time and advised the follow up to their work to see if it was healing was not included in their egregious billing but would be charged as a separate visit to the vet. However she advised it wouldn't be as much as the last time. Wow! Needless to say we will go back to our vet in the city for the follow up and for his future needs. It is very sad that they are not regulated as our human doctors and dentists in what they charge. read more

Had an serious emergency on Xmas for my daughters cat. Called Garibaldi and was told unless I was already a customer that they wouldn't be helping patients. Great emergency service there guys, what's the point of one if you won't help?? 2 stars because they did call back on the 27th to check in as they got my message. Honestly go somewhere else like Alpen Loft as they were more than happy to help me as a new patient BECAUSE IT WAS AN EMERGENCY!!! read more

I took my girl into to see Dr.Honey and he and the staff were fantastic. It is one thing going to the vet to get your pet vaccinated, it is another thing when there is a veterinary emergency. My dog was in such good hands while there, the staff were amazing. The clinic seems very well organized and well run, and I was so happy to know that my dog was receiving the best possible care, and that she will be back to herself in a matter of days. He is probably the best vet ever, and more importantly Dr. Honey will be managing my dogs care. I cannot recommend this clinic enough!! CD read more

We have a puppy and he's been to three different veterinary clinics in his short life being a rescue. The staff at this clinic are lovely, very friendly, and helpful. They also hosts free puppy classes and these are just so fun for the pups, great for them to interact with other puppies and learn things. We would highly recommend this clinic in Squamish read more

I took my boy there as they were open on a Saturday and could squeeze him in, I used to go to the Pemberton vet (Live in Whistler) and we got an appointment with Dr Jillian Thatcher and she has been nothing short of amazing. I thought he just had a pulled muscle but she was able to tell just from watching him walk that it was something more serious. Doesn't push any treatments or tests on us and ALWAYS confirms the cost with us before she does anything. The clinic always emails the day after the visit for an update on how he is doing and they are eager to hear how he is doing after trying new meds and you can tell that they genuinely care. I have been so pleased that I have actually stopped going to the Pemberton Vet and will continue to use Dr Thatcher for the future. We have been going to this vet quite consistently for the last few months and its always been a great experience. I also took my Guinea pigs to Garibaldi vet clinic and the level of care they delivered to my rodents and even their knowledge was amazing. read more

I've taken my pets to Dr. Honey and more recently Dr. Dattolico, since 2003. I've always had fantastic service from the staff and I've experienced wonderful care from both Dr. Honey and Dr. Dattolico. It has been 4 years since I relocated to Vancouver from Squamish and although there are many veterinarians in Vancouver, I continue to make the drive to Squamish to see the folks at GVH because of their caring attitude and excellent care. The reason I was inspired to write a review today is not because of the specific care I received (which is always excellent) but because of a thoughtful referral that occurred. I had an emergency call to Dr. Dattolico on Saturday evening of the May long weekend where she reassured me that I should seek care at the Vancouver Animal Emergency Clinic rather than bring my dog to Squamish for the emergency. When a Professional can make a referral in the best interest of the patient rather than in the best interest of a business, that really goes above an beyond service in my books. She kept in touch all weekend as the emergency unfolded with my dog and I am grateful for her reassurance that the care being given was the best possible given the situation. read more

The staff and Dr.'s at Garibaldi Veterinary Hospital are amazing. Not only does every single person actually care about the animals seen, they really go above and beyond in making sure I have all the information I need to be the best possible pet owner I can be. My pet's health is the WORLD to me; and the folks here really understand that and make sure I get the best quality of care available. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

This vet is not for us. They are too invasive. Tests are ordered for every small thing and therefore, there are charges for every small thing. They refer to this as the "gold standard of care", however we have found with the many dogs we've had that less intervention is better. read more
