Saving grace today was lightning striking when we had a few holes to go so we did not have to finish the round. There are too many great local courses that take pride in their courses than to pay to play on one that does not.

The fairways are terrible with what looks like natural grown grass going bald. The carbon monoxide I inhaled was a bonus. Not many golf carts have a choke to start it. Overall this is not a golf but merely fields. If I was a farmer who played golf this would be ideal. I'd wake up every morning and tie the clubs on the tractor heading the milking parlor hitting some balls along the way.

My husband, who is black, was hitting balls for about 25 minutes when one of the golf pros introduced himself and asked if he was a member or guest. My husband told him he was a guest of a member and we were at the pool. The pro wished him well and moved on. About 30 minutes later, another "pro" approached by the name of Malcolm. Malcolm rudely stated "you know this is a PRIVATE club." My husband informed him that he was aware and was a guest of a member and asked if there was a problem. Malcolm said Anthony looked "real different" and wanted to watch him (arms crossed, scowl on his face) and monitor his swing. Anthony said he was not interested. Malcolm continued to loiter in Anthony's space and was joined by yet another pro, Bucky, to again, introduce himself and monitor his swing. My husband told both Malcolm and Bucky that he would rather not partake in this and asked that they move on to the next player. They insisted. They invaded his space, made him feel like a criminal. This insidious behavior is rooted in racism and never would've happened to a white man. Plain and simple. It was humiliating and shameful. And, as expected, our complaint was dismissed as a misunderstanding. Shouldn't be surprised there, but appalled nonetheless.

One of the many wonderful things about Harrington Farm is no matter what time of year it is, it's a gorgeous venue inside and out. The Harrington Farm staff gave us the wedding of our dreams. From day one, Lauryn Mattson was by our side and guiding us through the entire wedding planning process. Every question, concern or request was handled with care and consideration. It was unbelievably easy to work with the Harrington team! We truly felt prepared for our big day; we met with Lauryn at least 4 times before the wedding which really put my anxieties at ease. We knew our options, we knew how the ceremony was going to go, and we knew we could rely on Lauryn and the Harrington staff. The food was delicious and fresh. I've received so many compliments about how amazing the food was! Our package included a wide selection of station boards, appetizers, dinner options, and even desserts! My guest raved about the coffee bar and how friendly the wait staff was. I personally feel that the packages are extremely generous given the price of it all. After speaking with some recently married friends, we learned that we got more for a fraction of the price they were paying. Her and her team worked SO hard to make all my wedding dreams come true. Whenever an issue came up they were very quick to fix it. She was extremely adaptable and no problem was too big for them to solve. My seating assignment were hand written cards that they had to so meticulously hang each card with lots of different adhesives.
