Considering all the stress that day-to-day life can bring, work-related or otherwise, it can be hard to slow down and take a breath on your own. Counting/breathing exercises or meditation tracks can be helpful at times, but in-person human guidance is something that can never truly be replaced. Megan's tone and attitude in our session was warm with concern, care, and attentive presence. Even in a group setting, where I'm normally prone to social anxiety and "Am I doing this right?" introspection, I felt myself ease into a level of relaxation and comfort. Visiting her required less than an hour of my day; it was time that I was happy to give, and time that she was more than ready to use for transforming my negative thoughts/anxieties into positive and in-the-moment reflections. I showed up dreading the humdrum activities of tomorrow, but I left enjoying the air in my lungs, feeling the energy in my body, and savoring even the smallest details of an average day's routine. The short and sweet of it all: I'd definitely recommend her as guide to mindfulness and mental relaxation!

I would sum up MIke's commitment to emotional health in three words: dedicated, experienced, and down to earth. I have been seeing Mike for about 2 years. I have been diagnosed bipolar and maintain a relationship with a counselor on a regular basis. Thankfully, I crossed paths with Mike and continue to see him on an as needed basis. He is sincere in his interests to serve you as his patient. He offers appointments on occasion that are outside his normal schedule. Most importantly, he offered assistance to my family and a family member that surpassed any expectation I would have ever had. I texted him and he read between the lines. I was able to phone him and discuss my concerns. His dedication and reaction to my situation in his approximate words, "I would not have wanted you to schedule an appointment and have waited to discuss this then. Of course I don't mind the call." I just can't say enough about his genuine interest to help his patients.

Dr Kevin Chapman is an amazing therapist and a compassionate, warm and funny human being…read more I've struggled with ocd and anxiety for years and have seen several therapists, to no avail. I ended up learning a lot on my own and when I heard Dr Chapman on a podcast from England (ocd stories) I heard him speak a language that the other true experts on ocd and anxiety spoke. I contacted dr Chapman and began working with him in March. He worked with me every week for about three months and I improved significantly over that time. I did things I didn't think I could ever do. I'm extremely grateful to him for helping me get my life and my confidence back. I'm continuing to work with him and each week I can't believe how much he, a man who doesn't suffer from ocd, understands about my disorder. It's absolutely amazing. After 10 years of suffering, I'm happier than I've been for years and I'm continuing to work with him because he continues to offer helpful things to improve my life in other ways (like perfectionism ). If you suffer from ocd or anxiety --in any form-- do yourself a favor and contact Dr Chapman. He's amazing. And better than that, he's a terrific human being. And that's also important for your recovery. You'll want to do your best for him. And he'll help you to do the best for yourself, to be the best version possible of yourself.

I could go into testimony about what it is like to be rid of a life-long phobia, but that would be…read moreboring to anyone who has not had one. I will say that my phobia(of vomit) was controlling my life so much that it's the whole reason I got on Yelp in the first place. I did not trust places that I wanted to eat, even really nice places. I was not leaving my house, and would be near a panic if I ate food anywhere beyond a 15 minute drive from my home. I would not exercise much for fear of overexertion. I love trying new foods, but I was not even doing that. I would not go out anywhere near a bar at night, I would not hang out with friends until I trusted they could hold their liquor, I barely ate meat because the sensation of digesting it made me think I was nauseous. This was my life as of August 26, 2016. At that point, I was tired of having my phobia. I was dreading my honeymoon (October of the same year) because I would need to go in a plane and someone could get airsick. When I saw on his website that he advertised getting people through debilitating phobias with such a short turnaround, I bit the bullet and signed myself up for what I knew would be a tough couple months. I can tell you that it worked, but if you're anything like I am, you won't believe that it will work for YOU. I can't tell you that either. What I can tell you is that Dr. Chapman will be wonderful to work with, he will talk you out of all of your avoidance, and you will find yourself able to do things that have been off-limits for years. Yes, each week I would come in dreading what I was going to be exposed to, but it was never a surprise. I went from literally not being able to see the word "vomit" in August, to laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes at a video of people getting sick, with the sound all the way up, even when my stomach was not feeling "right" (I have a tender tummy). In August, it would have made my heart race to even picture myself doing that. It took less than 6 months to fix something I had fought with my whole life, something that has hurt friendships for me, something that kept me from taking trips and enjoying food, something that had even affected my job choice. Now it is February of 2017, and all I need to fear are things like bad neighborhoods and hearing sounds in the basement when I'm home alone. I've had the confidence to try out a new diet (ketogenic) and exercise. I know that mental health is costly and out-of-pocket, but I PROMISE YOU- if you are looking Dr.Chapman up on Yelp because you feel like you maybe need to fix something that is controlling you, it is well worth the money to go see him. Think of all the life you are being robbed of for free right now.

I completely regret contacting Dave Harmon & Associates for counseling regarding my 20 hours of…read moreclasses ordered by the court to finish up my final task regarding my one and only DUI in 2017 to put this thing behind me. When initially searching for a counseling group. I stumbled upon Dave Harmon & Associates, it was the least expensive one to select from. I should have known just like everything YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. When arriving I was initially interviewed by AMANDA, a very dry, condescending, manipulative person. When I was anwsering my initial screening questions she let me know that they were here to help me and that they want me to be honest because they can not use the information you tell them against you. Also, regarding personal medical reasons that they were bound by more privacy laws than HIPPA! I feel like the entire group is there to take your money and make you stay longer so they can gouge you for even more money. Immediately she/Amanda upgrades me to a more expensive plan jumping me up from $275 for the treatment up to $400. Then Amanda gets personal. She asks me what drugs or alcohol I use and I give her the details divulging the fact that I am an occasional marijuana smoker, a drug that's legal in many states but not in ours for whatever political reasons. So, to get another $60 from me at the end of the course she informs me that the only way I can now get a good word from her to the courts I have to pass a drug screen. "That is fine." I told Amanda, but then I had to ask "if i never told you I smoked occassionally would I still have to pay the $60 for the drug screen at the end, she laughed and said "Probably not" Then we get into the classes which were instructed by {SHIELA, AMANDA, and DIANE} I never once saw or talked to Dave Harmon one time the entire duration of my counseling/treatment. Classes were an event on there own. DIANE had an interesting way of instructing the class, she would quickly have everyone shout out their names and what they were for 15 people in about two minutes and that would be all anyone would ever really get to say. She informed us that the only reason we went around the room to say our names was because it was required by law that everyone has to speak to get credit. Then the vibe after that was be quiet and listen because DIANE absolutely loved to ramble and hear herself talk. Not having been an addict before she gave off the impression that she was probably lonely in her personal life and enjoyed the control she had in these group counseling sessions. During one of her sessions I got some really bad news regarding my sons Mother taking her own life, and all DIANE could say was next time you need to put your phone away. SHIELA came off initially as a sweetheart but in the end turned her back on me. Since I trusted her at the beginning I asked her if there was any way I could not pay for my $60 drug screen since the reason why I was in these classes was for a DUI and no drug related issues. THIS WAS IN CLASS. She tells me "oh yea I have hook the up at my office just come on by on a Thursday and I'll have my manager just let that slide", only to find out at the day of she backed out of her commitment after have been told by a fellow class/group member that she did let him slide on his. A very nice lady, with questionable intellect skills. She would repeat over and over prison is jail jail is prison and every time the whole class would laugh at how silly most of the things she said was. She was good for a laugh and a quick early session if everyone had already left the office so she wouldn't get in trouble. AMANDA in a group session was less condescending than personally one on one perhaps because she is aware of her personality flaw and does her best to mask it in a group setting so everyone isn't disgusted by it. She keeps it personal so each person she treats that way can not blame her but might even point the finger at themselves thinking they may have had an off day. FINAL THOUGHTS {USE ANOTHER COUNSELING GROUP!!} Do so or you'll regret using Dave Harmon & Associates.
