This place deserves everyone to come try at least once. Very authentic food and flavors. The dessert is at one of the cheapest prices I ever seen. The cookies are HUGE for $2 each. I will definitely come here all the time to grab a sweet treat. :)))!!!

Burrito with Mole Sauce

***Very HONEST and FAIR review from a Dietitian*** Overall: 4.75 Garden Burrito truly is something special hidden in plain sight in Highland Park, New Jersey. From the welcoming experience of the family running the restaurant, the price of the food, and most importantly, the taste of the food, you really can't ask for more (Other than more variety of Jarritos). Their burritos are definitely something to look forward to, as well as their tacos. I find minced meat to lose a lot of moisture and flavor, but Garden Burrito knows how to cook them well to preserve their spices. Recommendation: Chorizo or Carne Asada for Burritos/Tacos, topped with mole sauce. Food: 5/5 Overall, Garden Burrito lives up to its name. It is a great burrito spot in central jersey if you are in the area. Their burritos are dense, neatly packed, and very generous with the meat and toppings they give you. Speaking of the meat, usually, the flavor and moisture are lost when minced, but you will taste every pork, beef, and or chicken with how wonderfully it marries with the spices that they used. Ask to top your burrito off with some mole sauce, or just add some spicy salsa or the salsa verde to take it to the next level. If you are dining in, enjoy the crispy chips with the spicy salsa that they provide. I'm not sure what they do with it, but those chips definitely will hit the spot if you're craving some crunch. I haven't tried their birria tacos yet, but from my research of the other reviews and my own experience, I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Aside from the birria tacos, my next try will be the parrilladas/meats on the grill, and the garden nachos. (stay tuned) Price: 5/5 For the price, you'll get way more than you'll ever get from Chipotle or Qdoba. I've gone twice in the past week and their flavors have been consistently great. Again, they are very generous with the meat and are very kind to take some recommendations if you ask nicely. Their prices are around the average for burritos/birria tacos/tacos in the area. Service: 5/5 The service is great and they make you feel like you're entering their own dining room. Everyone is so kind. Ambiance: 4/5 Hopefully, as they continue to settle in and significantly grow, the ambiance will improve. But you really can't ask for more. Good music, good food, great family service. Parillada

Garden Burrito was a place that I happened to stumble upon a couple months ago. When I heard about the place and saw the menu what captured me was " La Parillada" which at that time came with nachos, noodles, jalapenos, buffalo wings, and chorizo (there's more to the parillada). Also come with a skdd of rice and beans and tortillas. What has been happening now is 3 times we have ordered this for parties or for games and it's not how it used to be when we first ordered it. The chorizo is no longer included, the carnse asada as well; now we receive MORE grilled chicken to fill the gaps of what used to be included. Taste wise it has flavor, but hopefully it goes back to how it was.

Cute little joint! Went on a tuesday and got to try their birria for ~$10! It was yummy, I just wish the tortilla was a little more cooked. Came with complementary chips and salsa

Thought this place was an Americanized Mexican burrito place like chipotle with healthier options as the name suggests. It's not. But that didn't stop us from ordering. I wouldn't call it traditional Mexican either but it's a bit more traditional than Tex-Mex. The staff was very nice and super helpful. We decided to order some takeout. They don't have a super large selection of food but what they do have sounded pretty good. We ended up ordering the chicken burrito. We didn't wait long at all for our food. The burrito itself is very large and was very delicious. It wasn't greasy or oily and was not salty. I'll definitely be back again to try out some more food options.

Birria tacos

Doesn't look like much when you walk by but this quiet burrito joint has a cute atmosphere and amazing food. I got the birria tacos and my boyfriend got the burrito. These are way better than other birria tacos I've had. We also got complementary chips and salsa for eating in!

Service was excellent, and that honestly stood out as one of the best parts of the experience. The food is pretty much what you would expect from this kind of spot: huge portions, greasy, salty, heavy, and very Americanized. Basically over the top Mexican food with lots of carbs. Not terrible, just not something that felt especially memorable or authentic. What really surprised me was that they did not have coffee or tea at all, which feels like a pretty big miss for a full service restaurant. Overall, I liked it most for the atmosphere and the service.

The chips and salsa were so fresh, always a good sign that your Mex will be a wonderful experience. They had no issue refilling our bowls of that as we waited for our meals, but it was hard to get the attention of the man who does that. I got Chimi Carne Asada Steak, served with a verde sauce and quite good. A bit pricey at $35, but tasty. My wife got Birria Pizza and my son got Birria Burrito, both good. I believe my son mentioned he got three meals out of his Burrito, which made me feel better about parting with $24. The drinks were good. I would imagine they could do better than $6.50 per bottle of Miller Lite, but what can you do. This would be a five star review if their prices were a bit better, but the food was good. Clean establishment and Christian was a wonderful server. I would go back, and their Parsippany location is closer to me.

First, staff is super -super nice!! helpful when trying to decide what to order. Mini Me and I both chose three tacos carne asada with the smokey roja sauce. Hubby had the same but as a burrito. For the sides we had chips and guacamole and the Mexican street corn. Drink were Horchata (Obviously). Tacos and burrito were stuffed, and absolutely delish. They have a self serve salsa bar with the three salsa, the smokey roja, salsa verde and habanero. Let me just say I tried all three- fantastic heat to flavour ration and I poured the habanero on my tacos so good! in fact the smokey roja with the salsa verde is a great combination !! Seating area outside is much larger than inside, we sat inside at a table that had just become available- they do a super brisk take out business and we didn't wait very long for our food to be ready. In fact, my husband and Mini-Me - all three of us, agreed we would for sure make the drive again to have tacos here!! If you are in the area or at school near by- you have to come here at least once, to try the food. I paid for my hubby since he was not my +1 and his meal was about $16. so that in itself is very very reasonable for the amount of food you get. We were very pleased with the food, service and price point.

When my lunch plans fell through it was a perfect opportunity to check this place out. If you were going past here too fast you would definitely miss it It is a small restaurant that faces a big hole in the ground in New Brunswick. Parking is New Brunswick parking, if you've parked in New Brunswick you know it to expect. If you've never parked in New Brunswick try circling around a few times and if you don't have any luck with the meters you might have to pay for one of the decks, fortunately there was one right around the corner from this place. When I came in I already knew what I wanted to try, The namesake menu item that has been pretty popular lately. There were a few tables downstairs, and there was a stairwell upstairs that I never ventured up. The few times I visited here I've always found first four seating and never felt the need to see what was up the stairs. The tacos came out a little while after ordering and they looked really good. I think this was my first time consciously trying Iberia tacos and they were very good. I might not be the best person to judge this is I've never had other ones. But I was satisfied with what I had and the broth that it was served with was delicious. I have been back since, and will likely be back again. If you're in the mood for some good tacos you should check this place out.
