garbage hound has always been a bad company every time you turn around blaze and rights but recently it has gotten to the point that they don't even pick up the trash example last week, they did not pick my trash up. I called. She said they got it marked that it was picked up as is still sitting beside the road in the trashcan. have someone come out and pick it up when they did come out and pick it up. Some of the trash was thrown in the yard. that's how rude and disrespectful this company now that they've switched over to a new company that bought them out. Rude, not helpful, not worth $25/month. They apparently switched from mailing out monthly papers every six months and with any holiday and helpful information to 2024 dropping off the face of the fucking earth and minimally responsive via email. The auto pay is a pdf you must print, write out your cc number, billing address, and security code, then I imagine scan/take a photo and email to them. This process is outdated and not secure. I've attempted to create an account for fast payment but ran into an error message on their website. When I mentioned that difficulty in my email, it was ignored, and the response was to 'create an account '. Are you fucking serious?! So now I am trying to get the physical address I've mailed my check to for 10 years and it is not listed ANYWHERE! And no, i dont keep old mail. So I assume I'll be expected to pay a full month with 2 missed weeks. Get your shit together. You're making enough money to create a better website. I have been a customer of Garbage Hound for about 20 years. Their service has gone from good to horrible. This past week, my garbage was not picked up because there was a piece of wood (not heavy at all) on top of the garbage in the can (which they apparently would not take), so instead of putting the wood on the ground and leaving it behind, they just passed by my house and didn't pick up the trash. I've used Garbage Hound for close to 7 years. Overall their service has been great. Not perfect (who is?) but any time I've had an issue they've been polite & prompt in fixing it. Terrible. They are inconsistent on trash pick up days, have missed many weeks in a row and have horrible customer service.

We have been customers of Garbage Hound for many years but what happened last week to us is so so bad. Garbage Hound didn't pick up our garbage on Wednesday, I called & a woman said they didn't get my check till the day afterwards so they didn't pick our bin up on Wednesday....what is so mind blowing crazy is I pay a month in advance for their service, I had payed for June pickup on May 14 & they had picked up for two weeks in June, the check they received last week was for July pickup. Their bookkeeping is non existent. We are through with Garbage Hound !! And after reading so many bad reviews it looks like we are not alone with their terrible service!!! read more

We've been using Garbage Hound for about 11 years. The trash pickup is inconsistent - scheduled day is Monday, but more often than not it's picked up Tuesday. We've had multiple occasions where they didn't pick up at all when they've tried to blame us saying cans weren't at the curb, when we had put them out the night before. They switched from weekly recycling pickup to every other week without telling anyone. They're terrible, and once again they didn't pick up trash. I've stayed with them this long because their price was better than the only other service in our area, but their price has tripled in the last few years, so, as soon as my payment is up, I'm done with them. read more

I had my garbage can out with two bags out side they only pick up the can. I called them They said they change their website about only picking up close lid garbage cans . I can not believe it . They don't pick up the trash on their schedule days. My day is Wednesday and my trash as well as all of my neighbors is still sitting by the road. I call the office & left a message early this afternoon and nobody called me back before they closed. When they do come on the regular scheduled day they do not come at a consistent time frame. Sometimes it's 10am sometimes it's 6pm. So pretend you forgot to set your trash out, the last time they came around 2pm so you're like ok it's only 10:30 I'll hurry home... you get home & they have already come. My family and I just moved to GA and chose Garbage Hound as they are one of two companies that run through our association. I haven't experienced any of the issues others have complained about except that when I initially called, there was no answer. I didn't leave a message, but rather chose to call back later...at which time they did answer & I got my service set up promptly. There have been two occasions where mechanical issues came into play regarding the timing of service, but I was notified & service was rendered even sooner than expected. The guys hanging on the back of the truck have always been very polite and always returned my cans right where I left them, unlike my previous service provider. I've been a customer for less than a year and have no complaints at all thus far. If anything changes I'll be sure to update, but for now, I'm completely satisfied and would recommend them to anyone. read more

EVERYTHING is communicated - when the can will be delivered, what is allowed, not allowed, extra charges clearly spelled out... Everything you need to know is in writing - every way to communicate with them, what holidays are observed and how they are handled... I'm impressed. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! I made my payment and they said they never received it. So for two weeks they refused to pick up my trash. The trash man said he would pick it up once he sees the payment although we should him a receipt. So we made another payment and the non customer service reps said we bae to wait a third week to pick up the trash, she is not sending the ga man back. I tried to explain we made the payment she hung up the phone on me. I called back and explained we made the payment this week for the second time. She was super callous and cold. I asked her what was her name, she refused to give me that. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to let me speak to the man. I asked her when the manager will be in the office she refused to give me that information. She said make your payment and your garbage will be picked up. I made the payment last week and this week. SEE UPDATE BELOW. Positive: They are friendly on the phone. Negative: My pickup is scheduled for Thursday. They came two weeks in a row on a Friday without any communication. The third week, I put my can out on Friday. They came Thursday. I called to say "WTF?" and they said it was because of holidays. Well nobody said anything and I was left to assume they had changed my schedule so I was scratching my head for three weeks, and missed pickup one week. The truck leaks oil at every stop. They leave broken glass in the street--OFTEN. This is the second week in a row, and I called about it last week. I have kids and don't want them playing in broken glass on the street, and I don't want to drive through that S at the end of my driveway. I called last week, and the gal on the phone said she was going to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE this didn't happen again. It did. AND they didn't pick up all my trash. Last I heard, the policy was I could give them a full can and two bags on the ground and it would all get picked up. I wanted to help out local small businesses but not if they aren't willing to do a good job. Update July 26, 2016: they sent somebody out to pick up the trash they missed and clean up the mess the truck left. And they were downright respectful and apologetic about it. Don't waste your time with this company. Changes pickup days at a whim. Not just Holidays.. whenever. Only half empties the trash can, and then gives you excuses when you call...Automated truck was broke down, so the can had to be emptied by hand.. New people working the route..We'll send someone back out.... When you call customer service, ( if you can get them on the phone) they don't seem to have any record of any prior complaints. Wow! I was standing in my garage and watched them processing my trash when the garbageman dumping the trash in the truck dumped lots of trash on the street including bottles and empty gallon jugs of milk. He left it there on the ground, put the trashcan back and looked down inside the trashcan for a couple of seconds and then went back to the garbage truck and drove to the end of the road at the cul-de-sac, turned around, came back and ran over all the trash in the street -- and I mean lots of trash. I went out to the street and noticed that he left a full bag still in my trashcan and was too lazy to pull it out. That's why he kept looking inside the trashcan when he put it back. I called garbage hound sanitation and they said they have never had a problem with this trash man -- that's all they had to say -- not sorry -- not he'll be talked to -- just nothing. That's just rude as hell. I told the lady to look at the video because they do have video on their trucks and they just ignored me and apparently decided not to engage me anymore. Also, Garbage Hound Sanitation is quite often late, meaning coming the next day after the scheduled pickup. Pretty lame service overall. They did not used to be, but since about 2016 they have been sucking for sure. Today I have a new trash service, Brooks Brothers out of Talmo. Nice people and cheaper. read more

This is one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of working with. We have been a customer for a little over a year and a half. They are scheduled to pick up in my neighborhood on Thursdays. Nine times out of ten, they do not pick up until Friday. At least once a quarter, they do not pick up my trash, recycling, or both. They do not do anything to try to rectify the situation. When I told them I was ending my service, all they said was when do you want us to pick up the cans. They did not apologize and they do not value me as a customer. I am in the customer service industry and this is some of the worst customer service I have experienced. The trash was always picked up when it was supposed to be and we never found any trash or litter left behind. This company is reliable and dependable. We even know the name of the man who drives the truck for our route. We always get an email reminding us about holiday pickup schedule changes and never have to worry that our trash won't be picked up. Billing is easy with different payment options including paying online. I have used this service for a long time because they were the only providers in my area for awhile and I just never got around to changing, but what made them tolerable was that I could make my payments online. Every time I had to call and speak to someone it ended in and argument about changing prices, changing pickup times, and issues with their website. It seemed the website was down half of the time. Today I called about the site being down and that I needed to make a payment over the phone, the woman told me I had to pay 3 months over the phone or I could make my payment online. I told her the website was not working and she argued with me that a lot of people had called saying that but the website was not actually down. Again, an argument ensued and I was done, switched to another service that will cost 2/3 of what i was paying them. read more

Let me get the positives out of the way first. I've been a customer for 6 years, and this garbage company arrives on the day they say they will and pick up the garbage. That's about it. Negatives: 1. About every other week, they leave my garbage can in the road, where more than once it has blown over into the street, forcing people to get out of their cars and put it on my driveway. My neighbors hate it. I hate it. The neighborhood hates it. The response from customer service is to suggest we put our garbage can away as soon as it's picked up, but when you're at work, suggesting that I drive back home in the middle of the day is ludicrous. 2. Five times in the six years I have been a customer, I have gotten a message from the company saying my credit card was declined. When I've called my card company, their response has been each and every time that the card was never run through as a transaction. Each and every time, I have been accused of lying (because I would give a wrong card number), trying to get free service (which is absurd...I'm on the phone trying to pay), and of not understanding how credit cards work ("You do realize credit cards expire, don't you?" was once said to me out loud). 3. This is more than a little nitpicky, but it bugs me. When the garbage truck comes, they don't use the electric arm to pick up the can and dump it in the truck. One of the men picks out the bags and puts it in the back of the truck instead. That would be fine except for the fact that when a bag breaks, they just leave it in the can. I have leftover garbage, therefore, sitting in the bottom that apparently I'm responsible for cleaning out. read more

Tried calling for 1 week straight to get a hold of them, they never answered or returned any of my messages. Do not use them! This is one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of working with. We have been a customer since March and I wish I would have signed up with someone else.. And I am actually going with another company as of today. I was short on my payment by 1.00 and they called on Monday the day my trash was suppose to be picked up and said they will not be picking up my trash. I said the trash needs to picked up today and she said there would be an additional charge of 75.00-REALLY. I said really I could see an extra five dollars not no 75.00 she said then wait until next Monday. I asked why couldn't you have called to say you made a mistake on your payment she said then read your emails. I said I never did get an email from your company and why couldn't you have picked up the phone it would have only taken a minute. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They leave a big pile of garbage right in front of your driveway and leave it behind for you to pick up! I called several times and nothing changed so I switched garbage carriers and they are still choosing to compact garbage in front of my house even though I no longer have their service. What a bunch of crap, literally!!! I called again today to complain and requested they send someone out to pick up the mess they left behind, but I doubt anyone will come. We have several garbage carriers in our neighborhood and anyone that has Garbage Hound as a carrier has the same problem. It is disgusting and they are trashing our neighborhood roads.
