DO NOT due business with this company! We made a very poor decision and ordered a door from Jack Mclntyre, garage door company. poor customer service. Took 6 + weeks to get our door. He requested a $3.500.00 deposit by check only cashed the check 20 min. After leaving our home. standard deposit required are usually 10% (red flag)! when he came to install the door, he was in a hurry did not inspect the door. Within 10 min. we found a dent and called him and sent a picture. he had to order a new panel which took another 4 weeks. When he came to install the damaged panel. He damaged the #2 panel. He blamed out header, our header was fine we had it inspected by another contractor. He said he would order a new panel again, another 3 weeks went by and no communication sent 2 emails before he responded. He said he ordered the panel and then came back and told us it had been discontinued. We did our own investigation and found out from the manufacturer that the door we ordered was discontinued. he finally contacted us and offered us a different door to replace the discontinued door after six months we decided to go with another company We are now filing a formal complaint with CSLB. We asked him for a refund he refused . We contacted a new vendor and will pay to replace the door. I will seek further legal action. I hope someone else does not get burned by this person, very unprofessional and not transparent. read more

I called Garage Doors Unlimited when they were closed due to the owner's illness, and although they suggested I email photos of my garage door for help, I never heard back. Despite my follow-up emails and calls for updates on the part I needed, I received no response, leaving me very dissatisfied. On a positive side, the person I spoke with on the phone was nice. read more

We met Jack at a home fair at the Alameda County Fairgrounds last fall. Nice guy and did a nice job installing our new garage door. We ordered black frames for the four glass windows but they came brown. I've been trying for months to get Jack to correct the issue. Now he has ghosted me. I judge a business in how they respond to problems. Jack is a poor business man. I cannot recommend him to anyone. read more

Update to the Martin Door quality and customer service. After a year of back and forth with the Martin Door Company, Jack, Garage Door Unlimited, helped retrieve $3K in refund. Thank you Jack. The door is still not good quality but tired of the fight. After 3 replacements, the dents and poor paint job are still an issue. If I have it professionally painted, the warranty is cancelled. My suggestion is to not purchase Martin Doors. No quality control with the new management. Unfortunately Jack is caught in the middle representing a company with huge quality issues and no customer service. The garage door opener continually has issues. Jack does come out to remedy the issues but again, why the poor quality. The new garage door openers should be smooth and quiet. They should not have issues every six months. I give Jack 4 stars for his effort and customer service. I still give a 1 star for the product quality. read more

I purchased a garage door, including installation, through Jack from Garage Doors Unlimited. Couldn't have asked for a more smoother transaction. I am no garage door expert, but based on my interactions, observations, and the final product, there is no doubt in my mind that Jack is the best of the best - he embodies the definition of a true craftsman. Jack did the installation all by himself. Having gone through previous experiences with other house contractors where the owner just had other guys do the real work and just showed up to collect the check, it was refreshing to work with Jack and see him take full ownership/responsibility of the work from start to finish. Super happy with the look of the new garage door - Jack only uses Martin Garage Doors, which I understand are best in class in the industry. Functional wise, door opens and closes very smoothly and with minimal noise. Having lived with other garage doors in the past, we could tell that the installation was done so well to augment the smoothness of the door's functioning. We really felt that Jack put his sincerity into the installation and really cared to do the job as if he were installing the door for his own house. I hardly ever provide references of contractors that I have worked with in the past to family/friends as I would only do so if I had 120% confidence that the contractor was someone that I could put my name behind, which I take very seriously - if I do so I take full responsibility for the contractor's work. Jack was super awesome. I called him to help me out and he came over in a couple of hours and got my garage door working again and provided an estimate for a new door or to replace the panel I damaged. He came over a couple of times to assess and provided me replacement brackets without the extra charge. Jack is very reliable, honest, and gets the job done. He is the best there is and I will definitely call him when I have a problem with my garage door. He is also very reasonable and i trust him 100%. read more

Huge regret in not taking before and after photos. My garage door frame was warped, cracked, just absolutely ugly. He built me a new frame, primed it (I think maybe not though), installed the new garage door with the top of the line wi fi enabled opener for what I felt was a very reasonable price. Dude had a heart attack between the consultation and the actual job and he STILL came and got it done, despite me telling him it's not a rush and he can take his time. read more

Purchased a steel door from Jack at the Alameda County Home Show. It was installed without any issues and looks great. He remounted my existing opener, replaced the perimeter molding and hauled away the old door and hardware. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. read more

We met Jack at the home shows and when we decided to get a new garage door Jack was the only person we called. He was very personable, knew what he was doing and helped us decide what was best for us. When he finished the installation he cleaned up so you didn't know he was there. A few months after the install (during the holidays) we had our car broken into and needed to call Jack for fob replacement. He was out of town but took the time to call on a friend to help us out and was able to come out and help us. What a great guy. Have recommended him to several people. read more

Ordered door through Costco (member). Enjoyed the agent Jan's efficiency of choosing the door color and style. Then installation went without any problems. Sam came early and finished so quickly it was amazing. Cleaned up debris thoroughly and was very helpful in going over any maintenance. Rechecked the door several times and made final adjustments. My only surprise was that the window patterns are simply plastic press-molded inserts that float against the glass. Jack McIntyre was very pleasant during the estimation process. However, when it came to the installation process it was a different story. He installed the door incorrectly and caused the door to rub against the track. Despite repeated promises that he would come out to repair the problem, he never did. I had to hire a different installer to complete the job. I recommend against using Garage Doors Unlimited. read more
