Another of those places which arent good enough to gain four stars, but probably deserve more than three stars too, the Ganton Greyhound is found just off the A64, about 10 miles to the south of Scarborough.
The Greyhound was formally an 18th century coaching inn. These days its a 17 bedroom motel which is a pretty good place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area.
The rooms are unspectacular, but comfortable. There are two dining areas on site, the main dining area overlooks the garden with a log burning fire. The food served is good - surprisingly good, actually, particularly the steaks. Theres also a bar area serving all the drinks you'd expect to find in such a place.
Staff here are friendly, capable and happy to assist. O the whole its a decent mid range hotel which is suited to people who want to stay somewhere a little out of the way and not too central to anywhere specific, yet be close enough to be within easy reach of places of interest. read more
