Ganjou is brought to you by the same people who brought you Omakase. I like to think of Ganjou as a slightly less classy version of Omakase, but at very student-friendly prices. Ganjou has plenty of the same classic Japanese dishes that Omakase has, albeit not prepared quite as well. However, Ganjou's food definitely isn't bad. Walking into Ganjou, it's a little bit cramped, but the ambience isn't bad. There's nothing exceedingly incredible about the environment, but the place doesn't look half bad.
Ganjou offers a solid assortment of sushi and rice bowls, much like other Japanese restaurants. They also have pretty good (and cheap!) tempura, which is probably the most sulit thing on the menu in my opinion. For the rice bowls, try the Gyudon and mix the egg yolk in well as it tastes well mixed in the rice. Ganjou's not gonna be winning any awards for its cuisine any time soon, but it's overall a solid offering if you want affordable, decent Japanese food. read more
