Woohoo! This is my first Legend Series dinner and I finally got in. Believe me it's usually not…read moreeasy as the tickets sell out in seconds. Usually guests are not told where the dinner is way ahead of time but this time around this dinner was in junction of the release of the cookbook/coffee table book The Chef's Canvas. The highlights different area restaurant chefs', bartenders', and food truck owners' dishes inspired by artwork from the Cummer Museum. What a cool idea! This night's dinner was held inside the Cummer Museum with reception areas being outside in the garden. We started with appetizers in the garden and as I munched I strolled through the garden area since I've never seen them before. Such gorgeous flowers. What a surprise it was to run into fellow yelpers Mark B and Linda B there as I had gone by myself and didn't think I'd know anyone, then later, finding out that we were sitting right across from each other according to the seating list. The dinner was in one of the galleries where an abstract expressionist painter was painting throughout the night on a huge wall canvas and the band Crescendo Amelia played a combo of jazz and big band tunes. The menu included 8 courses and 5 drinks from 29 South, Cummer Cafe/The Candy Apple Cafe, Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails, GIlbert's Underground Kitchen, Taverna, Black Sheep, Brew, and Orsay, so you can best believe that I got my money's worth. All guests also received a copy of The Chef's Canvas before it was to be released to the public. Yay! The event was amazing. The only odd things that I noticed is that people were leaving early, like before the dinner was over. The lady who sat beside me left after the 2nd course and left her book behind, stating she was bored. WHAT!??! Who pays that much money then bails??? I also saw other people leaving by the 5th and 6th course without their books as well. Mark, Linda, and I vowed to stay to the end no matter how late it got and it was pushing midnight when I finally left. If you have the chance to attend a Legend Series dinner, DO IT!

The Legend Series is an underground dining series held quarterly at secret locations around town…read more These pop up high end dinners are some of the most exclusive events in town. A few weeks before the event, an email is sent with a link to purchase tickets. Guests are not told where exactly the next dinner will take place, only the zip code is revealed. Tickets always sell out in minutes. The morning of the event, an email is sent to ticket holders letting them know where the dinner will be held. Previous dinners have been held by candlelight in the abandoned Ford factory along the St Johns River, on stage at the Florida Theatre and even a private ranch. Guests enjoy a five course meal prepared by one of five top chefs from around the city including the executive chefs of Bistro Aix, Taverna, Orsay, Black Sheep and 29 South. None of these dinners take place in a restaurant, instead the chefs prepare high end meals on site. At the last event held at a private ranch, chefs prepared dishes based solely on sourced from the property (think duck, venison, etc). Guests are also entertained from a variety of performing artists such as professional ballets, symphonys, etc... each unique to the event. The ticket is pricey for sure, but the experience is truly unforgettable.

The Unbridled Bar is like nothing I had even seen before. As soon as I saw the pictures, I knew that this was exactly what I wanted for my Farm Wedding. We were having a country chic theme, and what is more country chic than a cute and fancy horse trailer for a bar? I reached out and heard from Sarah very quickly. We arranged a meet up, and soon after were signing the contracts. Sarah is inventive in her ideas and enthusiastic about her craft. She was always one step ahead of my questions and super responsive. When all was said and done we made choices for signature drinks and beer options and I was so so excited about them. We had a strawberry and jalapeno margarita and a mint tea and whiskey cocktail, and they were both so delightful! Additionally we had two beers on tap and two wine selections. Once the orders were made at the liquor store and a local beer location, Sarah really did handle all the rest. The day of the Wedding her and her husband were there to serve our fabulous drinks and chat with us as well. Everyone at the wedding raved not only about the drinks, but the amazing bar, the cute decorations, the super sweet bartenders and everything else. We met with Sarah to get the surplus alcohol the week after the wedding and she returned the kegs for us. You will NOT be disappointed when you choose Divine Spirits for your next event; but do so fast- they are booking up as you read this. Cheers!
