    The Escrow Firm

I think the Escrow Firm is the BEST. They go above and beyond to get the deal done. I know…read morebecause I have had some crazy deals.

This review is reflective of the specific agent, working from the Rancho Sante Fe office. However,…read morewhen an organization employs and retains someone who acts on their behalf, the accountability is theirs as well. Also, I drove 14 miles off my route just to check-in, and snap a photo for this review of something that happened almost a year ago. That's how upset I am about their service. I had to sell my house, and the real estate agent, from the Berkshire Hathaway office next door had employed Jennifer Barnes of The Escrow Firm to handle the escrow. I had no idea what escrow people do, but it's apparently necessary to the selling of a home. The home was sold quickly, and the paperwork was completed in a timely manner. In my interactions with Barnes, she needed documents signed and notarized from me. With a pending divorce, working 60 hours a week on the road, and having most of my funds tied up in legal fees and the sale of the house, I informed her of a delay due to the cost, and time to visit notary. (The last time I used one, they had charged $50). Unaware a lot of mailbox places would charge about $15, I asked if Barnes could send a mobile notary to my home. (Much like the one used when I bought the house). Jennifer Barnes replied she would send one if I payed $100. So assuming using a normal notary would have waited out my, at the time, food money for the week, and telling her that, Barnes's was suggesting I spend two weeks of grocery money to get my signature notarized. I stopped at a UPS store later on, and discovering the cost of $15, I got it taken care of. I can abide a product with some rough edges, and I can be understanding of someone providing services that may have been having a bad day when I encountered them, in particular those who aren't paid decently. What I won't tolerate is someone who is collecting a sizable amount of money from the house I worked on every weekend, and upon hearing a small portion of the documentation would wipe out my food for the week not only could care less, but suggest spending even more money to accomplish the same goal. Message me if you wish to see the email showing this unfortunate lapse in good manners.
