What a delightful stay we had with Mary! Gracious accommodations and fun times. If I return to Ireland, I would stay with her again!

We were greeted by Joan. She did not give the typical friendly Irish reception. When we chose to…read morenot eat at the hotel's restaurant, she told us we would be disappointed, but not in a fun way. Our room had two nonworking lamps, which turned into three nonworking lamps. She brought us two different lamps that did work, but it would've been nice to have the third one. She said, "You like your lamps, do you?" Bathroom garbage had been left from previous guests. Street traffic and party revelers awakened me late into the wee hours of the morning. Not my favorite stay in Ireland.

So, our group had to venture to a nearby pub to order some food. We brought back takeout for a couple of young parents in our group that stayed behind with their baby. THEY WERE THEN BANISHED TO THE SITTING ROOM TO EAT THEIR TAKEOUT. Again, nobody was allowed to bring a morsel of food into their bar that was NOT serving food. There was hardly anyone there!! Just not a warm first impression. We were exhausted and starving, and that was a dumb rule. The woman at the front desk was not particularly pleasant, and she was also the bartender. Our room was sub par, cigarette burns in the tub. No extra toilet paper in the room when we ran out. And the broken thermostat was blinking the whole stay, begging for a filter change...gross. The china was also dirty at breakfast. The only pluses I will give to this place: the sitting and dining rooms were decorated well and the OTHER staff (NOT the receptionist/bartender) were pleasant. Owner also seemed nice.
Dirty china. There was also a filthy cup that we asked to swap out.
Ran out of toilet paper

I wish the Courtyard was in every city, town, and village I visisted! Maybe they should create a franchise chain? :) PRO TIP: If you're a chubby American, like I am, you may want to request twin beds. Irish double beds are smaller than American full size beds.
Nicest room of the 4 B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. €70/night midweek
Big clean bedroom!

The paved parking lot was a welcome home to throw down my motorcycle kickstand and settle in for the night. I appreciated the lovely landscaping and several varieties of flowering plants and bushes, which lends additional beauty to this lovely B&B. Rich carpets, thick draperies, fine decor, and tastefully furnished rooms await your arrival. I was greeted and the kind hosts immediately and served coffee, tea, digestives, and chocolates in a lovely, comfortably appointed tea room. Morning breakfast comes with several satisfying options and I had ample space in my room and attached bathroom. The window from the sleeping area overlooked a broad expanse of field where horses peacefully grazed. Heading out for dinner entailed a short, pleasant walk to Bunratty where there are several options, including Durty Nellie's, which boasted an upstairs outdoor patio overlooking a small square. The Bunratty Villa B&B's lovely furnishings, landscaping, and attention to detail made me feel like a minor noble in his/her country house. I highly recommend staying here!

Clean, classy rooms, delicious breakfast, and beautiful rural location and views. And the staff was incredibly nice and gracious. It's a short walk (5 min) to Bunratty Castle, and it's dark at night, so bring a flashlight. We noticed Bunratty Winery on the way when we were walking to the castle, and wished we had known about it before hand so we could have planned a visit, so you might look into that if you stay here!
