I brought in a very expensive lampshade which we had purchased with a floor lamp in an Art Gallery…read morefor over $900. Our cat had knocked it over and shattered parts of the lamp shade. I am not sure whether I spoke with Jimee or Neal Itzkowitz or Bryan or Gloria McCrea, all principles of the business. I was told some special orders would have to be placed to replace the beveled clear glass curved pieces; the teal colored stained glass was in stock and would be able to be fixed in a short period of time. I stopped back by in about 3 weeks after I had dropped it off and was told the clear pieces were on special order. I purchased some small unique glass tubes with beads in them and make the mistake of leaving them there to pick up with my lampshade.I let a few months pass by, trusting they would call me when it was finished. I finally called them and a meeting was arranged for me to pick up the finished product from Neal, I believe at his other place of business, Valley View Mental Health Clinic, also in Roseburg, the next day. I showed up on time....I was given a message by the receptionist from Neal that he, in fact, would NOT be able to make it and that he would have to re-schedule. Again, I wait for too long a time and have no lamp shade returned to me. I finally get a phone call from Neal (?) and am told that the business has filed for bankruptcy , that my lampshade, once purported to be completed, has no vanished amongst the assets of the business and that there is nothing he can do to rectify the situation. I ask if the lampshade was even ready for delivery the day he had scheduled for us to meet. I do not get a straight answer. It turns out all principles listed on the business cards of Art Glass Studio and Supply are also employed at the Valley View Mental Health Center. After my experience with their lack of truth and blatant disregard for something they knew we treasured, I certainly wouldn't want to deal with the at ANY place they worked. I shudder thinking of the responsibilities at Valley View! (Although I would like to tour Valley View and see if I could spy a very distinctive glass lampshade!! :-(
