We approached about seven companies to get quotes to convert the loft space in our Edwardian house. We liked Gallery from the first meeting. They proposed the installation of mains driven smoke alarms instead of ripping out all our lovely old doors to replace with new fire doors. Gallery also came out the least expensive, and we liked the fact they had a showroom so we could get an idea of the space. I've never commissioned such a large piece of building work before but had some idea of how I wanted it to run, and, by and large, that's how it went. At the planning stage there were quite a few discussions between us and Gallery's draftsman, working out how to arrange stair access for the roof space, and having changed our minds about the first plan we'd agreed, Gallery very quickly came up with an amended layout. The work took quite a while longer than was agreed but we were realistic about the timescale and had anticipated some delays. Their tradesmen, apart from the first pair of electricians who I understand Gallery subsequently let go, have been fantastic. We are delighted with our new large loft space and bathroom. Not quite finished- but our attic conversion already looking great. Have been very happy with gallery so far- contractors have all been friendly professional and clean. Any changes we requested during the work have been accommodated. Was particularly pleased with the design work- the layout gallery came up with was the best of all the quotes we had (also had plans drawn up by another firm which didn't give us as much space). We had a problem with every workman that entered our property. A 5 week build took over 3 months. Attention to detail is poor to the point that a floor in one room wasn't level. read more

I can't rate gallery loft conversions high enough. They were very professional from beginning to end. My new room is absolutely marvellous! I live in a terraced house and initially didn't think we would be able to convert the loft. I now have a beautiful double bedroom with en suite and walk-in wardrobe. Excellent service speedy and professional. The use of I-beams was a new concept to me, no other trenders even mentioned them, i would have lost so much floor space using the conventional RSJ as the floor would have been 8" higher. I used Gallery Loft Conversions and was not at all happy with their work and standards and quality - after 1 1/2 years still have not finished the work and left a mess at my house - I cannot recommend them. They trade as Gallery Project Management Ltd now. read more
