It is not a "religious restriction" to not allow vendors to bring in offensive items; it's common decency and respect. (Although I don't believe in witchcraft or whatever other religions can be found in store, that's not what l'm upset about. Everyone has a right to believe whatever they choose. I AM upset about a caricature blaspheming Jesus and another blaspheming the last supper.) I usually go to Bluebelle to find birthday and Christmas gifts and occasionally go to their events, but l will not be back.

I don't know that this is more of a flea market than it is an antiques store, although I have…read moregotten some fairly good deals on some old things. This store used to be a Walmart many years ago without groceries. So if you know Walmart stores with both groceries and general merchandise and take away the grocery side, then you can imagine how big it is. There are so many vendor booths throughout the store with a HUGE variety of things. Almost any vintage things you can imagine may be found there. It's really great if you are into decorating with vintage home decor items. It's usually quiet in there as well which is nice, even when there is a crowd.

My husband and I were visiting friends in Opelika and they took us to what they called their…read morefavorite antique store. The store is huge and filled with so many interesting things I was able to find a few things I wanted to buy. I brought them to the counter, all had tags attached to them which the cashier removed, rung us up, I paid and we were on our way. Unfortunately, about a week or two later, I received a call from Joanna at the store saying I hadn't paid enough for the items I bought and she said I owed her another $53.41. In good faith, I provided her with my card information and asked her not to process the card until I had a chance to take a closer look at my receipt. She ignored that entirely and put the charge through immediately and after looking at my receipt, I noticed I paid exactly what was marked on the books I bought so I did not owe additional money. This was very rude given that she had the card in hand, so I clearly wasn't trying to avoid working with her. I ended up putting in a complaint to my bank and had the charge debited back to my account. Had they not removed the tags entirely, I could have provided the tags as proof. Lesson learned: demand to keep the tags or take photos of them if you shop here.

After months & months of no progress, I contacted Bob. He said they were working on it. But no time table, progression of events could be given as to when the problem would be rectified. Finally had them pick up the chair & were given a full refund. Bob did not stand behind the products he sells. When I asked him why he did not, he told me he wasn't the one who made the chair. Really.. a great tactic to throw the manufacturer under the bus. Bob should have made sure the problem was resolved vs saying he didn't make it. I asked him if he purchased bad meat from Publix would he expect Publix to make it right or would he go to the meat processing company. I was given the Hooker Furniture Company's sales rep contact information for me to work out a solution. Poor poor customer service. It wasn't a cheap chair. It was $2,700 chair
