A Virtual Photography Experience!…read more There's something about me you need to know. Just the thought of being on camera makes me cringe. Deep-down hair standing up on the back of my neck, I'd instead do dishes level of cringe. However, I had faith in Linda Kazares. Here's my story about the virtual photography experience. Because of Linda's newsletter and a presentation she gave, I knew to prepare. The day before our appointment, I was hyper-focused on hydration. Linda even sent ideas for poses ahead of time, so I could have a reference to start. Sidenote, Amazon can overnight a cell phone tripod by 8 am. Let me stress the importance of checking your setup the night before. The appointment started with a little technology hiccup. The app was open, and I was waiting, but nothing was happening. At the time, our neighborhood was recovering from storms, and the internet was sketchy. If the app freezes, close it and reopen it. Now for the fun part. I finally saw the green button and began the session on the cell phone app. I knew it was working because she could hear me! Right away, we got to talking which helped me to relax. Linda listened to my likes and dislikes. And with that, she started guiding me in poses. Linda's expertise is what made the difference. She could articulate what to move, in what direction, and at what angle. Let me say this another way; she knew how to get rid of the double chin and other unflattering effects of bad posture. The most impactful part of Linda's virtual photography is how comfortable and confident she makes you feel. When we concluded the appointment, I was in high spirits. Working with my time constraints, we connected later on Zoom. This appointment is when I got to see the big reveal. There were multitudes of great photographs. Linda captured expressions and personality like no one before. I now have a profile picture and another that is whimsical that I adore. Linda, here's the part I didn't tell you. In two months, I have a milestone birthday. You were the last photographer to capture me in my 30s. I share my gratitude and assure you that I will appreciate your results for many years.

I met Michael when he was assisting another fabulous photographer at a portrait shoot in the summer…read moreof 2016. He ended up taking one of my all time favorite pictures of my kids at that shoot! We try to get professional photos taken of my family 1-2 times a year, so when I saw that Michael was available to shoot on a recent Sunday, I booked him without hesitation. He communicated with me about timing and location prior to the shoot, arrived on time, and was super attentive to the requests of both me and my husband and my kids. He even got a handful of shots with our dog, which is not the easiest thing to do. He told me he would have digital proofs to share with me within a few days of our session, and he made good on his word. Michael is super talented. His work speaks for itself. As a retired homicide detective who has dedicated years to serving the citizens of Phoenix in that capacity, I'm new to all of this promotional stuff and was hoping to find a professional who was friendly and could guide me. A professional who believed in making the customer happy and not just focusing on the money. I read his reviews, and Phoenix Headshots seemed favorable. The budget package also looked affordable compared to another quote I had received. However, I SHOULD have called and had a conversation with this company before hitting that trap buy button. That would have saved me a lot of heartache. Once I clicked and entered my credit card information, the website gave no further instructions and left me in limbo, which I thought was odd. A message of what to do next or when and how they would reach out to schedule an appointment would have been appreciated. After waiting, I was proactive and left a voicemail. The owner (identified himself as Yucel) finally called me back. He was extremely condescending throughout the 10 minute conversation and kept mentioning the repercussions of not showing up for my appointment. I couldn't figure out why he was so concerned when I had fronted him the full amount---a hefty deposit I must say for work not completed. I also thought he had a storefront studio per the website, yet it was a private residence. The whole situation made me extremely uncomfortable. Our personalities did not mesh at all, and things got worse. My family went on a trip to Florida the week before my appointment, and we were in the direct path of Hurricane Milton. I sent him a text message explaining things and never heard back for several days. Finally, I interrupted my family vacation and just called him. At this point and collectively, I did not have a good feeling about him or his company and kindly requested a cancellation and full refund. I felt it to be a very reasonable request since he had done nothing but process the credit card, complete a short 10-minute conversation with me, and schedule the appointment weeks in advance. Instead, Yucel said absolutely not and said he was keeping all of the money. I was shocked as I had given him ample notice of cancellation and he rendered no photography service (zero). He pulled out some legal disclaimer which to me seemed rather shady not to mention completely devoid of any level of professionalism or customer service. This was a truly HORRIBLE experience. I believe in companies that ultimately make the customer happy, and this was NOT the case. I don't care how good his photography is, he did not treat me like a customer or act like a professional. Also, please also note that looking back at the reviews many of them are rather old. Bottom line: Be careful, have a conversation with this fellow prior to giving him any money, and shop around.
