Admissions/First day: 1/5 Upon arrival, I wasn't given a…read moretour, advised of meal times, who my therapist or NP was, and I was unsure of what a day looked like. I asked a nurse and she pulled a client to give me a tour. While the tour was great and the client was helpful, I just felt like it should be more structured when you first get in. I asked for a private room on my admissions call and they said they provide both, single and double bed rooms. Upon arrival, there was no choice. Everyone gets a roommate unless you are transgender or self paying. Patient privacy: 2/5 Nurses and Techs often disclosed patient information to eachother within hearing distance of other clients. While it wasn't directly sharing it with clients, it allowed a lot of private information to be shared from patient to patient. Dietician: 1/5 I came into the facility with a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa. There was no dietician and I had to wait 3-4 days before I was approved to get protein shakes. Often times, they had none. They frequently would be out of snacks or any other food. So if you're a picky eater, you had no choice but to go hungry or eat the questionable looking food. Food: 3/5 Breakfast is about the same everyday. Powdered eggs, sausage links, burnt biscuits and gravy. Bacon was provided once a week. They had fresh fruit 2-3 times during my 2 month stay. English muffins and yogurt with granola were coming around by the time I left. If you have a gluten allergy, the food is often the exact same. On Easter sunday, there was no gluten-free meal for dinner. My roomate ate a bowl of cereal that she had saved for the days they forgot to bring her a tray. For vegetarians, they served a plate of raw vegetables for the first month. They finally started incorporating faux meat, but when i arrived, it was bell peppers, carrots, lettuce, etc. The salad dressing and condiments are almost always out. They serve chicken everyday for one meal. It was undercooked when i arrived and then became extremely overcooked as time went on. I prefer the later, but either way it wasn't very appetizing. PHP has a salad bar which was very good. The desserts were tasty during the week. Arcade/Gym: 1/5 There's no ping pong paddles or balls. The air hockey table is broken. There's one set of pool balls for 2 tables and only 3 sticks. The foosball table has no balls. The virtual golf is broken and was my entire stay. The basketball court is inaccessible to the adults. The gym has broken machines. The treadmills are a hit or miss if they work or not. Usually 1 works and the rest are frozen or won't start. Groups: 4/5 During Residential, the groups were great during the week. However, they do run every single day. It became monotonous and tiring. On Sunday, it was a "fun day" where we watched movies and could do activities. But we weren't allowed in our rooms. I really enjoyed the group facilitators though. Therapist: 4/5 My experiences were great. Others were not as great. I got lucky to be paired up with a therapist who cares and goes the extra mile to help the patients. Shout out to Amy. Billing: 1/5 I was advised I would only have to pay $8,000 by the admissions. However upon returning home, I was billed $14,999. They are back tracking and saying admissions is a separate department than billing. But saying you'll pay one thing and billing you for almost TWICE as much is false advertisement. It's a way to get people in the door. Be very careful and read the documents they have you sign. It's unfortunate that people come in withdrawing or in a mental crisis and sign away their rights. It's taking advantage of already vulnerable people. They billed me for a doctor who I never saw and call me 2-3x a week to ask for the checks. But when i ask about my bill being way higher than expected, they suddenly get quiet and can't reach out for a week. Pretty convenient. After Care: 1/5 I had no appointments set up with a therapist, psychiatrist, or spravato/tms doctor upon leaving. I had to call and request an appointment. To which I was told that I am being put on a waitlist that was several weeks. The spravato and TMS referral still has not been sent to my new doctor. It has almost been 2 weeks since I left. This was all suppose to be set up before I left. Case managers: 1/5 They are overbooked with clients which leads to them not seeing their patients as often as they should. They don't care about FMLA, Short term disability, or helping you pay bills. They have to approve people to get on their phones to pay their bills, but then don't allow them to get on them during their session. They tell them to ask a tech and the techs often refuse. Techs: 3/5 There's great techs and there's not so great techs. . While others sit on their phones, make personal calls, and get shitty when people ask them to do their job.
