The pricing was fair and the service was pretty good but they didn't have their act together. Any time I would try to pay my premium online or through the automated phone my policy number couldn't be found. This only happened after 3 or 4 months of not having issues and they were never able to fix it. I ended up cancelling my policy due to having to, every month, call and complain that I couldn't pay online and explain the issue, then paying through a live rep. I had a minor collision in a parking lot. The Gainsco adjuster, Karen Bahena, called and basically interrogated me like she was a police officer looking for a bust. Karen decided it was my fault! I talked to Karen's Supervisor Jessica Scallons who said since I was driving for Grub Hub she switched it to nobody's fault since Gainsco wasn't covering it. That turned out to be a lie! Gainsco cancelled me even though I twice called to get copies of my insurance card for Uber Eats and six months later for Grub Hub, but I wasn't told anything. They've collected my fees for four years, but eight months since I started driving for apps and never said anything. I had to get a different insurance company and found Karen's my fault verdict was on my record. I asked a cop who said the other driver was negligent, because I was in the main lane of Wendy's preparing to back into a spot, so she was supposed to yeild to the right of way, so she's negligent. Had I not been in the main lane then I would have to yeild to her. Had I been backing out of a spot I would've had to yeild to her. However, I was in the main lane, so she has to yeild to the right of way. At the scene she said, "I was trying to get out of the way" this meaning she got too close which is why it's negligence on her behalf. Not to mention that's probably a lie, because I'm nearly 100% certain she hit me as well. Then there's the issue I was hit in the rear. That doesn't even cover the fact she hit me as well as I hit her, but Karen, going by the interrogation of a four year Gainsco customer, decided it was my fault and that's what's out there for other insurance companies to go by. Karen made no effort to get the video, so she took my word for what the Wendy's manager told me which was a conflicting statement. The Wendy's manager, after I told her where the incident occurred, first said I had to get the police to get the video and then later said she didn't have cameras on that side. It is my belief there are two cameras on that side. Karen didn't pursue the video or give me the pics the other driver used as evidence against me. Jessica didn't send the pics used as evidence against me either. Something's fishy and I have Karen as the lead suspect. Karen and Jessica work for Gainsco and Gainsco customers? My elderly stepmother has this insurance because she has terrible credit, limited funds, and presumably couldn't get insured anywhere else. I've recently taken over managing her finances and Gainsco truly does everything they can to make it impossible to pay your bill on time. They do not allow clients to do auto-payment without calling and jumping through hoops, only to find out I actually have to fill out paperwork with my stepmother's local State Farm agent (in another state) to activate autopayment. They do not have an address where you can set up bill pay with your bank because: "many of our customers would bounce checks, which caused extra expenses, so we no longer allow people to pay with checks." What? Seriously. Also, they don't send the bill to my email as I requested. So it still goes physically to my stepmother's P.O. Box in another state. They also don't allow you to see past payments in your online account. Like, I'm not totally sure when the next payment is due. I know I paid for two months in October. It's December, but it says no payment due...which can't be true. My take is this: they want you to pay late so they can charge late fees and reinstatement fees. They're predatory on people who can't afford better insurance. They're no better than those payday advance businesses. As someone who never pays anything late, has built up a stellar credit score, and has been with State Farm since I was 16 years old, I'm really shocked and dismayed by Gainsco and how they prey on people who don't have many, if any other options. I would give this insurance company less than 0 stars if that were possible. Customer service is a foreign language to them. Their insured side-swiped my car on November 12, 2023, in Bastrop, Louisiana. The driver was TICKETED for attempting a left turn in front of me on a one-way street. The damage to my car was fairly major, even though it was still drivable. It took me several days to connect with the adjustor with Gainsco, with me calling repeatedly. I did everything required of me. That was the last time I spoke with anyone in authority at Gainsco. They will not return my calls, and that includes supervisors. Finally, on February 15, 2024, I received a lowball check for damages. That is over 3 months since the accident. I need a rental since this is my only vehicle. I've been assured by others who should know that I should have a rental available to me. I cannot get this verified with Gainsco. I bought a six month auto insurance policy from them, when I made the last payment over the phone, I asked them if there was anything I needed to do because I intended to get my insurance from another source, I was told that I didn't need to do anything, that if the one I had expired, that would be the end of it. My policy with them expired in February. I bought another policy from another insurance company a day before the expiration of the one I had with them. In July, they sent my account with them to a collection agency, stating that I was owing them $242.19. I never renewed my insurance with them, they didn't send me any renewed insurance papers and I never signed any renewed insurance with them. I am sending the replacement policy to the collection agency. Absolutely worst experience with this company. Not only were they extremely difficult to reach as a general whole, but adjuster Jeff Lett lied to me about contacting the delearship repair area. When I called the dealership, they said that he didn't even call once, but Jeff said he tried for 3 days to speak with them. My car was being looked at for over a month in order to tell me they weren't going to cover anything. They could have had this done within days, but Jeff was not doing anything to finalize the process and extended the time. He was overly rude to me with all questions I had. Took a bus during COVID times for literally no reason. Great. Agent Angelica Rodriguez was never in the office and rarely returned my calls. She was not helpful and doesn't work weekends. I would call on Thursday and she would be on an extended weekend. When i asked for anyone else to assist, they said she was the only one that could. Absolutely frustrating and terrible. I normally do not write long reviews like this, but the experience was so horrible that I ask you to read to the end. My first claims adjuster ended up being really nice. (I will call her "T" Thank you T you deserve 5 stars for being so patient with me); especially because I know I was a pain in the butt At first yeah I apologized for that And I attempted to clear the air, but at that point the supervisor Gabe Goggans took over and he was Horrible to work with. I told him I wasn't sure what I wanted to do because he quoted aftermarket parts that were really cheap and someone mentioned because my car was so new I might want the more expensive new part and I wasn't sure at the time so I expressed that to him, and he said it didn't matter what I did he was just gonna send the estimate and a check and close the case no matter what, because that They were legally bound to do. I then asked him to just forget the whole thing and cancel the claim because I just didn't like the way he was handling things and of course he just sent the check and the estimate and close the case. This was back in February 2023. I gave the estimate and the check to the Auto place, but told them I was not sure if I wanted to move forward or not so the paperwork just sat at the auto shop and it's still there as I am writing this. SO!! Here is the craziest part about all of this in the most outrageous thing I have ever dealt with in auto insurance I received a quote from Gainsco Claims and Gabe said that my $700 hundred claim Was "an at fault collision" (a Long story, but a pothole) and they wanted to double my premium since I had some unfortunate mishaps prior, but double meant pain $1,600 a month for car insurance; my 6 month premium would have been $9658 due to a $700 pothole claim!?!?!?! And after emptying my pocketbook with that ridiculous quote,the Gainsco company wanted to drop me. I will say I take accountability for my prior mishaps, and I thought paying $800 a month was outrageous, but this, seemed personal. We did not have a positive experience with Gainsco. We were hit by someone who had Gainsco Auto Insurance. It took a week before we heard from Gainsco after the other party had reported the accident. Gainsco did not return out calls even after they had opened up a claim and contacted us. After more than a week of them not returning calls, they sent us a letter demanding we contact them. It was a mess. It took weeks to sort out. At one point, they denied my wife an extra day with a car rental because they claimed our car had already been fixed. It hadn't been. Gainsco was still negotiating with the shop to try to cut costs and repairs hadn't even started when they denied us a rental for a day. When we called Gainsco we were always just pushed to the voice mail of the woman handling our claim, even when we asked to speak to someone else or to a manager. It was very frustrating. In the end, they also responded very slowly or not at all to our mechanic, which dragged the process out over weeks. All this for fairly modest repair. We were very frustrated dealing with Gainsco. If you are looking for an agency, please think of what will happen to a claimant if you get into an accident. read more

Only gave me 2 days for rental car that I had to put down deposit.
