The pricing was fair and the service was pretty good but they didn't have their act together. Any time I would try to pay my premium online or through the automated phone my policy number couldn't be found. This only happened after 3 or 4 months of not having issues and they were never able to fix it. I ended up cancelling my policy due to having to, every month, call and complain that I couldn't pay online and explain the issue, then paying through a live rep. This always took 30 minutes or more. read more

Wow. This is a scam insurance company. No communication. Low ball unrealistic offers in an attempt to scam you. One of their insured slammed into my parked car. I have video to prove it. I went and got an estimate from a reputable shop and they tried to settle for more than 2k less, insisting that the estimate was too high and to quote "I should have to pay part. Thats how it works". I had to file with my own insurance and now they can go after Gainsco. They'll end up paying more in the end. Not smart business. Don't get insurance from these crooks and you'd better hope if someone hits you, Gainsco isn't insuring them. Thankfully, I wasn't hurt. That would've made it worse. Avoid at all cost read more

If I could leave a negative review, I would. On August 14, a Gainsco customer backed into my vehicle, causing significant damage. I was contacted on August 21 by the representative handling my claim. She took my statement and said she had not spoken with the policyholder. I have a police report stating their driver was at fault, along with videos of the driver and both vehicles, plus photos and videos of police at the scene. Gainsco told me there were issues with the policy but would not explain what they were\. I contacted the local insurance office and confirmed that he had been a customer for years, that his policy was active at the time of the accident, and that it does not expire until next year\. Based on this information, I am concerned that Gainsco is not handling this matter transparently. Gainsco advised me not to repair my vehicle because they would not cover the claim unless they spoke with their driver. I was also told they would not cover my medical bills and that I should file through my own insurance, which could leave me responsible for my deductible. I have repeatedly requested a supervisor call me, but no one has. The representative handling my claim has also been extremely unprofessional. During one conversation, she went silent and **hung up on me. When I called back, she admitted she could hear me. I am extremely disappointed with Gainsco's lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability. I am now considering hiring an attorney because I am completely over this. The 14 of this month will be 30 days read more

Same experience like everybody. If somebody with this insurance hit you dont bother to look for compensation from this insurance....

Another fraud of an insurance company. They offer cut-rate insurance to bad/uninsurable drivers, and if one of their drivers hits you they will not conduct an investigation and immediately deny your claim. Their adjusters are a complete joke and won't even answer their phones. Hopefully they are out of business soon. Get a dashcam. read more

Awful awful awful!! Im the victim of their insured driver who ran a yield sign and totalled my car! And they have treated me like a joke! Im now 29 days into my claim they have totaled my car and took it but have yet to get me a rental or send what they need to my bank so I can get into another vehicle! 29 days now my child and I have been without a car and they treat me like a joke when I call, if they even answer or call me back!! Never ever use them! They treat you like a joke and leave you stranded! read more

If I could leave a zero I would! I was in an accident with one of their drivers who ran a stop sign on March 6th it is April 22nd and I still don't have my car and no answers. I have left numerous messages with my adjuster Ms Jasmine who has only returned my messages 3 times with no answers whatsoever. I have also left numerous messages with her supervisor Ms Delane who has not once returned my calls and with Ms Delane's supervisor Ms Heidi who also has not returned my calls. I have had to call out of work cuz I haven't had a vehicle when I wasn't able to borrow one. I am also so far out of almost $700 in rental vehicles. Its crazy to me that I still don't have answers and not a single person will return my calls! Avoid them cuz they do not care! read more

I had a minor collision in a parking lot. The Gainsco adjuster, Karen Bahena, called and basically interrogated me like she was a police officer looking for a bust. Karen decided it was my fault! I talked to Karen's Supervisor Jessica Scallons who said since I was driving for Grub Hub she switched it to nobody's fault since Gainsco wasn't covering it. That turned out to be a lie! Gainsco cancelled me even though I twice called to get copies of my insurance card for Uber Eats and six months later for Grub Hub, but I wasn't told anything. They've collected my fees for four years, but eight months since I started driving for apps and never said anything. I had to get a different insurance company and found Karen's my fault verdict was on my record. I asked a cop who said the other driver was negligent, because I was in the main lane of Wendy's preparing to back into a spot, so she was supposed to yeild to the right of way, so she's negligent. Had I not been in the main lane then I would have to yeild to her. Had I been backing out of a spot I would've had to yeild to her. However, I was in the main lane, so she has to yeild to the right of way. At the scene she said, "I was trying to get out of the way" this meaning she got too close which is why it's negligence on her behalf. Not to mention that's probably a lie, because I'm nearly 100% certain she hit me as well. Then there's the issue I was hit in the rear. That doesn't even cover the fact she hit me as well as I hit her, but Karen, going by the interrogation of a four year Gainsco customer, decided it was my fault and that's what's out there for other insurance companies to go by. Karen made no effort to get the video, so she took my word for what the Wendy's manager told me which was a conflicting statement. The Wendy's manager, after I told her where the incident occurred, first said I had to get the police to get the video and then later said she didn't have cameras on that side. It is my belief there are two cameras on that side. Karen didn't pursue the video or give me the pics the other driver used as evidence against me. Jessica didn't send the pics used as evidence against me either. Something's fishy and I have Karen as the lead suspect. Karen and Jessica work for Gainsco and Gainsco customers? Bless their hearts! read more

My elderly stepmother has this insurance because she has terrible credit, limited funds, and presumably couldn't get insured anywhere else. I've recently taken over managing her finances and Gainsco truly does everything they can to make it impossible to pay your bill on time. They do not allow clients to do auto-payment without calling and jumping through hoops, only to find out I actually have to fill out paperwork with my stepmother's local State Farm agent (in another state) to activate autopayment. They do not have an address where you can set up bill pay with your bank because: "many of our customers would bounce checks, which caused extra expenses, so we no longer allow people to pay with checks." What? Seriously. Also, they don't send the bill to my email as I requested. So it still goes physically to my stepmother's P.O. Box in another state. They also don't allow you to see past payments in your online account. Like, I'm not totally sure when the next payment is due. I know I paid for two months in October. It's December, but it says no payment due...which can't be true. My take is this: they want you to pay late so they can charge late fees and reinstatement fees. They're predatory on people who can't afford better insurance. They're no better than those payday advance businesses. As someone who never pays anything late, has built up a stellar credit score, and has been with State Farm since I was 16 years old, I'm really shocked and dismayed by Gainsco and how they prey on people who don't have many, if any other options. Gainsco executives should be ashamed of themselves. read more

No stars because they are HORRIBLE. Their driver hit my daughter, its been 3 months and its still not settled, we had to involve our own insurance company. If you choose this insurance company you are at risk for a civil suit because they will not pay damages. BEWARE! SCAM insurance!! If you get in an accident and the other person has GAINCO--They are basically UNINSURED! I would give this insurance company less than 0 stars if that were possible. Customer service is a foreign language to them. Their insured side-swiped my car on November 12, 2023, in Bastrop, Louisiana. The driver was TICKETED for attempting a left turn in front of me on a one-way street. The damage to my car was fairly major, even though it was still drivable. It took me several days to connect with the adjustor with Gainsco, with me calling repeatedly. I did everything required of me. That was the last time I spoke with anyone in authority at Gainsco. They will not return my calls, and that includes supervisors. Finally, on February 15, 2024, I received a lowball check for damages. That is over 3 months since the accident. I need a rental since this is my only vehicle. I've been assured by others who should know that I should have a rental available to me. I cannot get this verified with Gainsco. I am elderly, and the collision company is an hour away in San Antonio. If anyone is contemplating using Gainsco for their auto insurance needs, please use caution. read more

My parked car was hit by a motorist "covered" by Gainsco. The damage is around $3k. After four days and emailing/speaking with four different agents I was finally told today that the driver of the vehicle (whose name is on the policy) was excluded from this vehicle! I just assume this company pays for nothing. I'm just thankful I was never foolish enough to buy a policy with them. If anyone wants to start a class-action lawsuit, count me in. read more

These guys are literally the worst. They cancelled my insurance after missing a single payment, and when I returned to make that payment two weeks late, they told me they would not be able to reinstate me. TWO WEEKS LATE. That's nothing. Any company I've been with has always been very accommodating to get paid, but apparently it's just not worth it for these guys. I'll never go low tier again. Just gonna sign with one of the big companies like Progressive. read more

I would give them a zero if such option exists. I bought a six month auto insurance policy from them, when I made the last payment over the phone, I asked them if there was anything I needed to do because I intended to get my insurance from another source, I was told that I didn't need to do anything, that if the one I had expired, that would be the end of it. My policy with them expired in February. I bought another policy from another insurance company a day before the expiration of the one I had with them. In July, they sent my account with them to a collection agency, stating that I was owing them $242.19. I never renewed my insurance with them, they didn't send me any renewed insurance papers and I never signed any renewed insurance with them. I am sending the replacement policy to the collection agency. This people do not want to give you any real coverage, they just find ways to collect your money when they are sure that they have no obligation towards you read more

I called and canceled my insurance because Progressive wad $40 Cheaper with more coverage!!! After canceling policy Gainsgo continued trying to take premiums out of my checking account. This ended up costing me $105 Overdraft fee from bank. This was after the 5 day waiting period even . The bank said I would have to contact I insurance company for the reimbursement the insurance Said they didn't refund Overdraft fees.. I could understand that but it was entirely their fault for even trying to get The payment after it was canceled and past the 5 day period. I live on a fixed income and can not afford to lose $105 for something that was not my fault.. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR O. GOOD. I know Progressive is good insurance and instead of paying $80 To a company that would do this and wonder if they would even pay off if you needed them. I am glad a switched to Progressive insurance at $40 a month for a lot more coverage and I know they meet their obligations.. read more

Absolutely worst experience with this company. Not only were they extremely difficult to reach as a general whole, but adjuster Jeff Lett lied to me about contacting the delearship repair area. When I called the dealership, they said that he didn't even call once, but Jeff said he tried for 3 days to speak with them. My car was being looked at for over a month in order to tell me they weren't going to cover anything. They could have had this done within days, but Jeff was not doing anything to finalize the process and extended the time. He was overly rude to me with all questions I had. Took a bus during COVID times for literally no reason. Great. Agent Angelica Rodriguez was never in the office and rarely returned my calls. She was not helpful and doesn't work weekends. I would call on Thursday and she would be on an extended weekend. When i asked for anyone else to assist, they said she was the only one that could. Absolutely frustrating and terrible. This is straight-up fraud, their clients are basically driving around without insurance. Look at all the reviews, this company literally doesn't pay out claims when their clients damage other peoples property. How is this different than them not even having insurance? My claim number is TX592188. My girlfriend was at a complete stop and was rear-ended by one of their clients, their client admitting fault immediately. I initially received a call from Jenna (the adjuster) but she needed my girlfriend's statement and she wasn't home. I told her she would be home in 5 minutes and would call her right back. We have now called for 2 weeks getting her voicemail every time and does not return phone calls. read more

I normally do not write long reviews like this, but the experience was so horrible that I ask you to read to the end. My first claims adjuster ended up being really nice. (I will call her "T" Thank you T you deserve 5 stars for being so patient with me); especially because I know I was a pain in the butt At first yeah I apologized for that And I attempted to clear the air, but at that point the supervisor Gabe Goggans took over and he was Horrible to work with. I told him I wasn't sure what I wanted to do because he quoted aftermarket parts that were really cheap and someone mentioned because my car was so new I might want the more expensive new part and I wasn't sure at the time so I expressed that to him, and he said it didn't matter what I did he was just gonna send the estimate and a check and close the case no matter what, because that They were legally bound to do. I then asked him to just forget the whole thing and cancel the claim because I just didn't like the way he was handling things and of course he just sent the check and the estimate and close the case. This was back in February 2023. I gave the estimate and the check to the Auto place, but told them I was not sure if I wanted to move forward or not so the paperwork just sat at the auto shop and it's still there as I am writing this. SO!! Here is the craziest part about all of this in the most outrageous thing I have ever dealt with in auto insurance I received a quote from Gainsco Claims and Gabe said that my $700 hundred claim Was "an at fault collision" (a Long story, but a pothole) and they wanted to double my premium since I had some unfortunate mishaps prior, but double meant pain $1,600 a month for car insurance; my 6 month premium would have been $9658 due to a $700 pothole claim!?!?!?! And after emptying my pocketbook with that ridiculous quote, the Gainsco company wanted to drop me. I will say I take accountability for my prior mishaps, and I thought paying $800 a month was outrageous, but this, seemed personal. I just learned about all of this on Thursday or Friday of last week so I've had to wait the weekend but I'm going to make a complaint and for all of you out there the company might be great but this specific person gave me hell and made the mistake of putting the previous drivers name on my auto insurance ID card breach of privacy !!!!! read more
