I was strongly recommended to visit this gelato place "for the best ice cream in town" by multiple…read morelocals, and I finally came here on the last day of my trip. I can say right away - I wish I had come earlier, because my experience was fantastic! I first visited the place right after lunch to grab a dessert. The gelateria is small inside but has an outdoor seating area with tables. There was already a pretty big line, including people waiting outside, and it took me about 10 minutes to reach the cashier. I learned that for take-away you first place your order and pay at the cashier, then move forward and collect your dessert with the receipt from another worker. For dining in (outdoor seating), you can just grab any free table, and a waiter comes to you to take your order. I chose to sit outside and enjoy my time. All the staff at the gelateria seemed nice and friendly; some spoke good English (like the cashier and the waiter who took my order), but others did not understand English at all (for example, the person who served my take-away order later that night). In addition to a good selection of gelato flavors, the gelateria also offers pastries, freshly made waffles, cookies, and other sweet treats. There is also a good selection of drinks available - different types of coffee, tea, milkshakes, as well as juices and soda. For lunch, I decided to try two things - pistachio gelato and an Italian peach pastry (I believe they call it 'pesca dolce'), which is a granita-style dessert with a creamy custard filling shaped like a peach. Both desserts were fantastic! The pistachio gelato was absolutely perfect - with a creamy, super soft texture, and a very realistic flavor, like I was eating real pistachios. I can say it was one of the best gelatos I've ever had! The peach pastry also tasted wonderful and very flavorful - the custard cream filling was very nice and soft, and the whole pastry was moist. I loved it a lot! Of course, after this experience I couldn't resist coming back later that night after dinner. There was a line again, and I had to wait about 6 minutes to reach the cashier. I was already full, so I ordered just a medium cup of gelato and chose the cremolata di mandorla flavor - a typical almond flavor from Sicily. It was incredibly flavorful and delicious! I probably liked it even more than the pistachio one - a very hard choice between the two! Price-wise, this gelateria is very reasonable. I paid only €3.50 for a medium cup of gelato. For lunch, my total bill was €11, including €6.50 for a large pistachio gelato, €3 for the peach pastry, and an additional €1.50 service charge. Honestly, these are great prices for ice cream and desserts, especially compared to my hometown, Miami, where I live, where each item would cost about 3 times more. The business accepts all major credit cards and Apple Pay. I highly recommend visiting this gelateria if you're in Bari - it really should be part of your experience. Italians love freshly made gelato, and it's a pleasure to see how much people enjoy it here. For me, this is now my go-to place every time I return to Bari.
