My specific area that I am currently wanting to slice my wrists over is the plumbers in this town. Hawley plumbing has pushed my job aside for bigger and higher paying jobs. Even though each one of these businesses have told me to my face that they would be out in 2 weeks, or they would have numbers for me tomorrow.... bla bla bla. Then they call me with a bull crap excuse about how they are just "too busy". Um, I run my own business and the words "too busy" aren't in my vocabulary. If you're too busy, just say it. Don't lie to me and make me sit and wait for another 3 weeks to month. Just a thought, but why don't these companies hire other workers? Why don't they train, hire and get more jobs done. Help the economy of this town for Christ sake, and hire people who NEED JOBS!!!! It blows my mind how these contractors think that by lying to their customers is in fact going to help them with future business. More work means more money...or did I miss this part in business 101?? I come from the city where local businesses actually have competition and jump at any opportunity for another job. Where word of mouth is just as important as it is here. And this is not just "my" problem. I have talked to several other families here in Powell looking for heating fixes before the winter hits and they are all pushed aside for these bigger more extravagant homes that pay more. It's the worst type of business to hire. Greed will get you no where.
