Did not complete the root canal properly and I've had problems ever since. Went in twice waste of time and money

Hmm. I seem to be experiencing a bit of cognitive dissonance based on reading the negative reviews…read moreand what my experience was. I hesitated making an appt with this office because of those negative reviews, but it was one of the very few practices that took my insurance despite dozens of them being on my provider directory which didn't. I was fully prepared to resist any pressure to have extra or "optional" work done other than what I was there for, exam and cleaning and I made it tactfully clear that that was my intention. My first impression, observing for several minutes when I first got there was that it was a very professional well run office. But anyway, the dentist I saw was Dr. Lozada. And the first thing that pops into my head is "Whirling Dervish". Not sure what that is but it seems to fit. And if it doesn't, "dynamo" would be a good substitute. She's packed with as much energy as nuclear fission. In a good way! Very pleasant, efficient and to the point. And based on her approach, comprehensive ACCURATE assessment and conservative watch-and-wait recommendations, one of the very best, probably top two dentists I've ever been to in my seven decades on this planet. Maybe the best, assuming her technical skills match her assessments which I'm guessing they do. But my initial clinical contact was with Renee' (sp?), the assistant. Equally pleasant and efficient. The one possible demerit was the cleaning which only took about ten minutes. Ten minutes?! I suppose maybe it could have been enough but I'll know better the next time I get a cleaning if the next hygienist screams, "You need to do a better job of taking care of your teeth!" The young lady at the front desk, whose name I'm ashamed to say I didn't get, or if I did I've forgotten, which is entirely possible, where was I? Oh right, the front desk lady was VERY personable and helpful. And finally the young lady that mans the "check-out" operations is also very pleasant and very obviously efficient at what she does. So all in all, as you might have guessed, a real pleasant experience and for a dentist practice I think that's saying a lot. I anticipate an equally pleasant experience on my next visit. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

When I came back in July 2025, the wait time had me very frustrated and I was snappy with the staff…read morebecause I felt like they were ignoring my concerns. This time around, I was seen immediately. While the X-rays are annoying for me, the young man who did it today (2/28/26) was kind. Dr. Bhokari (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was kind! She saw I was frustrated about what was going on with me gums and reassured me it was okay. Then the dental hygienist, Eltom Carneiro came in. He started off okay. Again, I'm not a big fan of the dentist and I'm already frustrated about the extra work and money I now have to spend. He started working and ask what was wrong. I reply I'm just frustrated about the extra stuff you have to do to my mouth. He replies "it's not my fault." He proceeds with what he needs to do. I'm seeing unfamiliar tools so I'm a little uncomfortable. I grunt a little but I guess he took it personally and under his breath he says "Jesus Christ" and that point I was done. He's like I'm not done and I reply we're done. Going to the dentist is always a not pleasant experience for me. But I'm not going to be talked at disrespectfully. Some times it's not your delivery. It's your words. I don't want to look for another dentist office, but he will NEVER be allowed to do anything for me.

One of the best dental practices I ever went to. The…read moreattention to details , the care , knowledge and treatment were first class. I highly recommend Dr Johnson for all your family Amd friends dental work needs.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience really deserves one…read more I scheduled an appointment here specifically because their hours are listed as 8 AM to 8 PM. I work during the day, so the extended hours were the whole reason I chose this office. What they don't tell you is that they apparently don't perform actual dental treatment after 5 PM. That only came up after I was already in the chair and had X-rays taken. So I took time off work, showed up in good faith, went through diagnostics, and then was told the treatment I came for wouldn't be done. At that point, I said I wanted to leave and declined anything further. Instead of a straightforward exit, I felt pressured to stay and continue with consultation while still sitting in the treatment chair, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. On top of that, I was charged more than the referral price printed on the referral card my partner gave me, which made the whole experience feel even more misleading. Because of all of this, I went more than a week without treatment which I scheduled with a different practice. Instead of offering to actually schedule the procedure, Dr. Charmaine wanted to bring me back in for yet another consultation! This wasn't just a scheduling issue. If there are real limitations on when treatment is available, and if pricing differs from what's quoted, that needs to be clearly disclosed upfront. Patients rely on that information when making decisions. I'd strongly recommend confirming both treatment availability and pricing before booking here.

What a difference one staff member can make! I rescinded my negative review after having returned…read moreto this clinic approximately 2 years later. Having left a practice that was a bad experience completely, I thought I'd try OPD again. The only reason I left was the horrible experience I had had over and over with the front desk person. Well, she left and the new person is great! What a joy to be back! The staff is fantastic, the service wonderful! I feel like I'm in excellent hands and I'm having a crown put in next week very reasonably I might add! Thanks OPD!

After being a patient there for about 20 years I have decided to go elsewhere. The front desk staff…read moreand manager are condescending and lazy. They want to sit there and look pretty. When is it ever appropriate for a front desk person to scold you for not coming in BEFORE your visit to provide new insurance information or for any reason really? I told him so but he continued to argue with me making me even more upset. I came for my scheduled cleaning and exam. I had the same dental insurance for over 2 years, had to weather the 6 months waiting period where they paid nothing, meanwhile having to pay over $2000 to replace a bridge out of my pocket during this time, only to find that they will no longer accept this insurance. It was a task to go find another company and I managed to get something but he was angry that he actually had to do some work when I came in. I didn't want to change but I was forced to and now being scolded for doing so. There is now a 12 month waiting period, even more than the previous, AGAIN! No consideration for what the customer had to go through. There was only one other patient there getting a cleaning so not like he was busy. Instead, he scolded me, folded his arms, sat there doing nothing, then got upset when I told him he should do his job and get busy getting that verified. They let me go for the cleaning but would not do the exam even after being a long standing patient with a history of good payment always. However, all he had to do is make one phone call and within 5 minutes it was all cleared up but I still didn't get a checkup because of his laziness and unwillingness to do his job in a timely manner and do what the customer needs. I guess they didn't trust that I would pay them if the insurance didn't come through. Instead of sitting there with folded arms and bitching that he might have to do more work, the task could have been accomplished in that time. Sorry you had to do something other than sit there. The dentist, Dr. Cunningham, is in his office right beside them so has to hear what is transpiring. He seems like he has a burr in his butt, Mr Grumpy, unwilling to explain anything in detail, even seeming angry with more questions, didn't utter more than a few words like I was so dumb and couldn't be more condescending and unpleasant. No smile, not really even a hello, short terse words even though I've know him for 20 years. Why did I stay so long? I will add that he did do some good restoration work and tried to minimize the amount I had to pay. I didn't have a problem with his treatments. He was honest and didn't do things that were unnecessary. However, I am now faced with a 3 yr old bridge that wasn't fitted on the edge properly so now have a cavity in that spot. The bridge will need to be replaced AGAIN. Of note are the hygienists there and his dental assistant. They were super friendly and did a wonderful job. Thanks to Jose, Elvira and the Hispanic woman dental assistant. They were the stars who did their jobs well. They only have office hours M-F and only half day on Fridays so trying to use them over the years meant that I had to give up billable hours as a consultant to go and see them amounting to thousands of lost income for me over the years. They don't even work a 40 hour week nor work any Saturdays or evenings to accommodate a working person's schedule. The office is getting run down looking, broken spring worn out futons in the waiting room to sit on, equipment old, chipped, obsolete. The artwork was very nice and I'm sure it was expensive but it's dated now. It's time for them to retire as I really don't think they are serious about wanting to work or taking care of the customers and are just doing the minimum required. Maybe it's just time to wrap it up there. Not really an interest in what is best for the customer, poor chair side manner, and bad attitudes almost everywhere. They won't have to worry about my issues with insurance any more because I have chosen a new, highly rated and progressive dentist. I was shocked at the difference with my new dentist and the technology they now use. Goodbye, I don't need your bad attitudes and poor customer service anymore. Lots of competition in your area.
