Our house burned on August 4, 2018. Our neighbor's house caught fire and the strong winds caught…read moreour house on fire. It was a total loss. Parks Construction had built our house less than 5 years before the fire. We were devastated. We called James, and he worked with us to rebuild. We were back in our new house in about 4 months from the day they put up the first piece of framing !!! We were very pleased with the workmanship yet again. It was a pleasure to work with the Parks team. Nelson, Reid, Danielle and all the contractors were fantastic. Any issues that arose were quickly resolved. We are so happy to be back home and James and team made it happen.

Shout out to Parks LLC and our beautiful home! We started this process over 3 years ago and this…read morecompany was patient and understanding in our timeline and honored our original agreed on price. James Parks was so professional in his presentation to us as far as what he provides as a builder. He was upfront with pricing and construction. Danielle, our front lady who we love, was amazing and took great care of us. But truly, the Oscar goes to Reid T., our foreman, who was so patient and guided us through some severe design flaws via the architect (another Yelp for another day (Blue Line Design..NO.) Nobody anticipated these flaws based on the fact that these are professional architects (or are they?) but Reid caught them every time. He reassured us that the awkward wall upstairs could be remedied He was empathetic and corrected several cabinet issues for us. He was never pushy but such bold, albeit, minor suggestions that made the world of difference in our house. He took minor design flaws and rocked them into full blown made for TV interior design show specials. We are blessed to be living in such a beautiful house and thankful to Reid who was so genuine and purposeful with all our questions and always had a solution. We are not design magnets and his suggestions were so welcome and helpful. We loved his approach to the home building process as it seemed as if he were sincere in building it for his own family...a place that truly was a home. Parks is a great company. Danielle is great, James is awesome, but the cape goes to Reid. Thanks so much for our forever most beautiful home.

Be aware of C-Tech Construction (Brian Roberts). This company was contracted in Nov of 2018 to…read morereplace a retaining wall and a boat dock in Tool, TX. Payments were made per the proposed schedule on time, and only one more payment is left to go. The job was expected to be completed in April of 2019. And then the outlook date kept on changing. The last outlook date is by Thanksgiving of 2019 which is not going to happen. Contractor claims that there's only 3 more weeks to complete the job. Problem is to get the contractor to show up even for a full week. The company is not dependable or reliable. For weeks I'd try to communicate with the owner Brian Roberts with no success. When I finally heard from him, there was always an excuse (weather, rain, no worker, etc). I'm still hoping that this is not one of those things that will need to be resolved in court. I'm also considering filing a complaint with TRWD. Below is a partial list of issues and things to do. 1- A small portion of the retaining wall still needs to be repaired because it doesn't retain the dirt and required backfilling. 2- The dock is still missing two lifts, the aluminum decking and rails in the upper deck, electrical work, wood staining and closet painting, etc. 3- The old lifts and some old material is still sitting in the backyard. I don't recommend. Stay away or just pay for job completed if you're already in contract with them. Don't pay for any expensive material up front unless you have a way to buy it yourself and can get a copy of the invoice.

We used Lakeshore Marine (a.k.a. Brian Roberts Marine & Roberts Construction Co) to build a pier…read morefor our lake house at Cedar Creek and to replace a very old seawall. The completion of the pier and the seawall was at best a very bumpy process. Brian doesn't appear to supervise his team well and as a result, many basic mistakes were made along the way. Including the pier being installed crooked, and I don't mean slightly crooked... Extremely crooked! The metal grate was installed upside down. Even I, who am by no means any type of pier/boat house expert, could tell that it wasn't installed correctly. The pier light had to be repaired/replaced 3 times. And to top it off, he oversaw the installation of the sidewalk cap on the seawall as well as a sidewalk to the house. The sidewalk to the house cracked just a few months after being installed and after contacting Brian for repairs for over a year now, no repairs have been made even though Brian has committed to getting the repairs done on several occasions. Brian makes promises he does not keep. We've given him numerous chances to make this right over the course of the last year... all to no avail. Therefore I DO NOT recommend Lakeshore Marine (Brian Roberts Marine; Roberts Construction Co) to anyone interested in building a residential boathouse, pier or seawall. He is not reliable or trustworthy. I don't like posting negative reviews but I feel that I must warn others to avoid Lakeshore Marine (Brian Roberts Marine).

Personable, friendly gave a great bid but unfortunately was not up to the task…read more He seemed to have a real issue with measuring. The closet he built us does not have a right angle in it and one side is a full inch and a quarter longer than the other, making it very difficult to find a door. The sliding door he installed is not centered so there's this weird filler on only one side. He didn't give us the correct measurements to purchase the door in the right size to begin with, which I think caused the off-center installation. Either he decided he couldn't do the work or got bored with the job, either way, he left us, for weeks, in the middle and went to do another job (very well reviewed, with pictures on Yelp). He made excuses every day (he was sick, his dogs got loose, Home Depot didn't have what he needed...) about why he couldn't come, never mentioning he was working on a different job. We only found out when we were looking through Yelp and saw their review. He finally showed back up with workers that he hadn't had before and asked that I pay half of their day's wages ($400 which was not an agreement in the original bid). The next time I saw him, he showed up around noon, got nothing done for a whole half day then left again. That was the day we decided we had to change. We needed the work done by March and he had proved we could not rely on him. (By the way we are still struggling, as elderly people unable to do the work ourselves, to get the work completed and it's now the following January). We had paid him in full for several jobs that he either did not do at all or did not complete. We requested a refund. He gave most of it back, in small amounts, with a couple of months prodding online, but never came through with the final $100 he owed us. I was angry, but now I'm just sad because he seemed like a nice guy, but as the job wore on it was obvious it was just too big for him and he had an excuse every day why he couldn't be here on time, why he couldn't be here at all and why he always needed more money. He would go to Home Depot every day and buy supplies that we paid for and one day he decided to buy himself a new power tool, that we paid for. I guess nice people have issues too. Sadly, I would not recommend him.

Above and beyond and extremely detail oriented! Easy to work with, and was upfront and affordable…read moreon cost. Painted my house, repaired Hardy siding, repaired and replaced tile in a bathroom, fixed rotted plates in my shed and turned an ugly storage area on the side of my house into something attractive and usable. I have a pier and beam house and the metal posts were rusted and flaking. The crew completely revived them and made them like new. They were always on time and communicative, and now that they're done, I feel like I have a new house! Would absolutely recommend GJB to anyone needing a well rounded handyman service for just about anything under the sun.
