We contacted Guardian in the summer of 2015 due to our air conditioner not working. They came to…read moreour house and assessed the problem. It was determined that the inner coil has a leak in it and would need replacing. We were told by the repair worker to contact the maker of our unit to see about warranty. Same was done and we were told that warranty was still on the unit until November of 2015. Guardian was told of this and we were assured that they would order said part and we would only have to pay for the labour, which is to be expected. We also told Guardian that it was very time sensitive as our warranty only lasted until November. They told us not to worry and that they would order the part and come back in the spring to put it in. Come spring of 2016 we called Guardian and they informed us that the wrong part was ordered and that they would have to send it back and get the correct part. By the end of the summer they told us that they were still waiting on the part. Spring of 2017 we call again. They tell us that actually the part is no longer in production and there is nothing they can do about it and that we need to contact the people who installed the unit. This is impossible as we bought the house from an elderly lady who had recently passed away. A few weeks ago I reached out to the manufacturer to see what could be done. I was informed that the part was in fact still stocked and they had no record of Guardian contacting for warranty parts on our serial and model number. They asked for more information on Guardian, their supplier, and the part that was needed. I called and left a message which was never returned. My wife goes into the office and the owner, Darren, stated that they no longer had a file on us. My wife then explained what information was needed and the background story to refresh his memory. Darren then says that my wife was mistaken and that the part was never under warranty. My wife corrected him and stated that we had the emails to prove it. He then said that he would talk to his tech that came out and get back to us and walked away. I called him again 5 days later and he said that he was unable to acquire the part from the distributors and that they no longer make the part, which is untrue as again we have a very recent email saying the part is still available. We have now reached out to a different company to repair. They are able to order part and did so the same day as coming out. The part costs $1700 plus three hours labour. This whole repair will end up costing us about $2000.

I was sitting on the steps watching him do nothing. Then he went outside to look at the HVAC. Said the two pipes coming from the house needed covers. Huh? Said he'd come back tomo . The hot water tank in our house stopped working in December 2020 and we called out Mavco. Upon…read moreinvestigation, their technician determined that the electrical element had burnt out, but he could not undo the old element (our home is only 7 years old) as it was 'corroded' and stuck. So they had to replace the complete hot water tank, element and thermostat unit. This costed us $1,300. On November 22, 2021 (after 11 months) our hot water tank stopped working again, and again I called Mavco. Their technician arrived the next day (Nov 23) and upon investigation declared that the electrical circuit breaker had tripped due to a 'potentially faulty' thermostat, but left without replacing it or doing any other repair work. On Nov 24 I received an invoice for the 'call-out' from Mavco for $220, but my hot water tanks was still not functioning. I called Mavco on Nov 24 and they promised to investigate. It is now Nov 29 - one week and a bill of $220 later - and our hot water tank is still not working. The complete hot water tank is still within its 12 months warranty, which seems not to mean anything for Mavco. I called their service desk again and they 'promised' again to investigate I'm sorry that there is not a minus star rating possible, as this will be the only way to assess Mavco's performance. My recommendation to any potential customer is to avoid them as far as possible - companies with such poor performance do not belong in our valley!!!!!!
