Ordered about $100 worth of merchandise in October 2025. Card charged. Never received merch. Several calls and emails; Left messages regarding no delivery of merchandise. Up until October 0f 2025 deliveries of purchases required a phone call or email BUT SOMEONE WOULD ALWAYS RESPOND AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THIS IS NO MORE. I have ordered from this vendor in the past without issue until now. I placed an order on 12/30/24 and received my merchandise early Jan 2025. I placed an order 1/10/2025 and another order on 1/14/2025. Received email confirmation upon placing the orders each time. My credit card was charged. I have sent emails twice to determine the status of the order. No response. On Friday 1/24/2025 I attempted to call the phone number on the website - Verizon message "check the number and try again." I still have a landline so I tried that route "the number you have dialed is not accepting calls." I tried to send a fax "the number you dialed is not in service." I am going to wait until the 15th of Feb if I haven't received the merchandise by then I will contact my credit card company to get all of my money back. read more

I've thought over and over whether I should post or share this with any of my reenacting friends, but at this point I feel like I must give you a warning about ordering from Godwin's/The Sutler of Mt. Misery. This is a review I had shared with friends in 2022 but have decided to share publicly to warn others. On May 3rd I ordered two tables and two camp stools from them (we have had so many projects going on that I knew building camp furniture was something we could not handle at this time). I waited and waited, thinking perhaps they were made to order even though their website said they were not. On July 6th (after two failed email attempts), I called them. The person I spoke with said that the items were packaged and sitting there, but that they had charged me incorrect shipping. I asked what the difference was and gave them my card to charge me so that I could get the items. They said they'd ship the next day. Fast forward almost another week and I had to call again. This time they were struggling to find boxes to fit the tables, and didn't know if they had any camp stools in stock. They said they'd figure out the boxes and ship right away. Thankfully (I thought), they arrived in a couple of days. I excitedly opened the boxes to find that camp stools were not included and that the tables were... well, excuse my language... pieces of absolute shit. They weren't even the actual table that I ordered!! There were screws that completely missed the wood, splintered the wood, stain missing in areas, stain dripping, and legs that had not even been cut flat to sit on the ground. I immediately called and told them of the issue (he quickly said he was in the middle of something and HUNG UP ON ME) and after I called again I followed up with an email with photos. They said they'd issue a call back for the packages and send me a full refund. Apparently they did not include the camp stools and instead decided that was credited toward shipping. I have now been back and forth for several weeks about returning the tables and getting a refund. Over and over I have had to contact them (these huge boxes are in our way!!) and have had excuse after excuse about filming, being called out of the office, and sending info to the finance team. I finally opened a PayPal claim and sent over all of our correspondence. The customer service was unreal. read more

I purchased approximately $75 worth of merchandise from GG Godwin Inc (also known as The Sutler of Mt Misery and G Gedney Godwin, Inc) on February 1, 2024. The initial receipt stated I would receive an additional email once my order shipped. On February 14th I contacted them via their website, "Contact Us" to inquire about shipping, or even if the products were in stock (though I was never notified of any out-of-stock items. On February 21st I again attempted to contact them via their website. On the 21st I did note that my initial attempt of contact was shown under my order. Today (February 26th) I was going to make a third attempt before cancelling the order. Once I logged into my account, I observed that my previous two attempts to contact them were no longer shown. Is this done automatically, or did they see the messages and delete them I have no idea. I then made my third attempt via their published (website) phone number with no answer. To summarize, I ordered several items on February 1st and my credit card was charged immediately. In the next 26 days I have received no products, no shipping information, and no communication though I have attempted three times. I normally check reviews prior to dealing with unknown vendors. It appears this company is extremely poorly run (at a minimum) and I would never recommend them. read more

On January 7, 2023, I placed an order with this vendor for a drum carriage. A charge of $113.19 was posted to my credit card on January 9, 2023. When this item had not been shipped by March 16, 2023, I contacted the vendor via the website and by telephone to inquire about this purchase. I received no response. On March 23, 2023, I contacted the vendor again via the website and indicated that, if they did not respond to me by close of business on that day, my order should be cancelled and a credit issued, Again, I received no response, and no credit was issued. On March 25, 2023, I informed the vendor via the website that I would be filing a dispute with my credit card company. My advice, unless you have a very high tolerance for aggravation, avoid this company. read more

I should have checked other reviews before I placed an order with this company. Ordered 18th c. re-enactors' spectacles on Sept. 1. Order was confirmed and they charged my credit card. Since then, nothing. They do not return emails, voice messages or comments on their website and when I call I get a recording. Don't recommend doing business with them. read more

I have now cancelled my order and requested a refund. This has been a such a terrible experience that I can't help but wonder if there is a hidden camera involved somehow...
