Well...it turns out it wasn't the unit. It was a plumbing issue and they still helped me pin point the issue - no charge. They texted me a you tube video so I could fix it. It's so hard to find companies you can trust, but Rey's has proven themselves. They are always giving back to the community as well. West Sac or surrounding area - just call Rey's first.

Hmmmm. They use expensive AC capacitors…read more I picked out Rey's Air because it has a 4.9 Yelp rating. You can't always judge Yelp's rating by its cover. Our AC went on the blink yesterday. It's less than ten years old and is used minimally. The unit's interior house fan and exterior AC fan remained working but the compressor failed to engage. The air was not being chilled. I'm old. 76. I know that capacitors commonly fail and I have had them replaced over the years. Rey' Air quoted $79 to take a look. What could go wrong. On the positive side Rey's Air arrived promptly the next day. On the negative side, after about a half hour of perusing, the tech said that he determined that I likely have a bad capacitor. He recommended replacing it, or even upgrading to a better capacitor unit (for $200 "more") When I asked what the 'regular' capacitor replacement would be, he said $285. I hesitated. I said that's a lot for a capacitor. (Home Depot sells them for as little as $10 to $20 for the part). He said everything is expensive or something to that effect. I said okay. Let's just get it done. I did not want to go through more torment with another AC outfit. I said let's just go with the "cheaper chicken". Then the tech began adding. He said okay. "So that's 285 plus 79 (the show up fee). That's $364! (for a $10 part). I think I said 'yikes'. That is an 'expensive capacitor'. After a couple of minutes the tech relented agreeing to "only charge me" $285 for the half hour of looking (and five minute replacing). Bottom line: Fair price for fair service is all we ask. I see some gouging here. I understand that there are times when changing a capacitor's price should go up. As when there are hazardous or miserable conditions including problematic accessibility, or with lengthy or repeated driving times. None of that applied. Short drive. Open and shady and cool work space. If Rey's were to have charged $180 or even $200 for the tech's 30 minutes attendance, that would have been fair and profitable. Two star rating is best I can do. .

Their quote was the lowest we got, but we got what we paid for. We had them replace our HVAC a few…read moreyears ago. They did not install the correct size return vent so our heater kept overheating. It would cycle on and off every few minutes and say it was heating when no air was moving. We literally had them come out 4 times before they found out what the issue one. The first 3 times they gaslit us and said that is was our Nest or a draft in an interior wall... I think they have only one good employee because the 4th guy to show up told us he liked to get paid for his overtime and would stick around until he got to the cause of the problem. Also when they finally "fixed" the return vent to a proper sized, they botched the install and had cracks in the ceiling and random screws sticking out in places. So they had to come back again to fix that mistake.

They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. Installation will be later this week! I look forward to a frosty summer!

The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. I will call on them for my future HVAC needs. And I hope I get Christian again!

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! I hired him to…read morereplace the battery on my 2010 Honda Civic and inspect several parts that a dealer had claimed were leaking and needed to be replaced. He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. I am very happy with the service he provided and the price I paid! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Rolland came to my house and went straight to working on the fuse box without having made sure the…read morehigh voltage system of my Prius C was disconnected. Major red flag #1. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

I used Yelp to put a blanket request for the Sacramento area, and Stress Free Auto reached out right away! I was able to take my car in first thing the next morning and was greeted in such a friendly and warm way. Knowing they had a few jobs ahead of me, they called a niiiice Lyft and made sure I got home free of charge! From there the communication was excellent. There were continual texts that provided information about their progress not only with searching for the main problem, but also a general overall inspection of my vehicle. Once complete they sent me an estimate, I called to coordinate which things I wanted repaired/addressed, and they sent over a finalized quote that I signed immediately. It was quick, informative, and quite literally stress free The main problem was a cracked exhaust manifold. Seems like an extensive repair, right? Well, they let me know later that afternoon that they were done! Amazing same day service! Absolutely incredible. It's been a month since the repair and I haven't had any issues. So, in my book, that's a job well done! The only small gripe I have is the cost. Again, it was same day service, so it's understandable that I might have paid more than I would have at another local shop, but they did offer a discount on the initial inspection cost. Some other shops roll the inspection cost into the cost of repairs, but unfortunately Stress Free doesn't do that. Plus, a couple of suggested repairs were somewhat of a laughable cost. If memory serves, they quoted me around $60 to replace wipers. I'm not sure if it was a quote for all 3, or just one, but I spent $15 on a wiper on the way home and installed it myself. Whatever, they are trying to make money! Despite my small price gripe, I will be using Stress Free in the future for any vehicle concerns I have!

Fusion Heating and Cooling is unbelievably first class all the way! I called Fusion this morning to see if they can come out and look at my furnace, that just stoped working. I was told that they will be at my house at 8am.. Sure enough the tech was ringing my bell at 8am.. He was totally knowledgeable and courteous, It took tech 15 min to figure out the problem, he explained to me what is going on, went to his truck grabbed the part, and he was done in no time.. Very reasonably priced. Knowledgeable and honest about the products and cares their customers needs. Oh and they were pretty quick. I would recommend anybody who needs service. After having furnace in my place stopped working, engineer came out and showed me what was wrong, explaining in detail and gave me options with prices. We decided to replace the furnace that was 19yrs old. He came back the same day and stayed late to make sure that we have warm house for my pregnant wife. For reasonable price. Really appreciated. Fusion did a custom job for us. Removing the old ceiling unit, attaching brand new duck work into a near by closet and placing the unit into the closet. They were able to find a A.C unit for us that fit through our roof opening, which means we didn't have to pay for a Crain. Armin came out and was able to climb into the attic to confirm and fix what i had suspected was the issue. He was able to rewire the pump so that the ac will shut off if the pump fails as it was originally installed incorrectly by the sunroom people. read more

I called 6 HVAC companies, and 5 of the companies wanted to bill me twice. All HVAC Services was the exception. The contactor is right next to the capacitor and it's an additional 5 minutes of labor. It didn't make sense to me that other companies wanted to charge me separately for labor and do 2x the bill. Ricardo (aka as Ricky) was more reasonable and only charged me a prorated labor rate (based on my scenario, your situation might be different). Ricky also spent time explaining how to DIY for the future if I pursue that route. He provided a lot of helpful tips that YouTube doesn't cover. Overall, this is probably the best HVAC company you can contact for your needs. Ricky came out the same day and provided great rates among the compared to the other 5companies. He was also the most professional and seemed very passionate about his job.
