Recently I made the fearless decision to change my career path…read more In order to begin this path, I had a deadline to meet for a physical ability test. With little gym training, I had to search for a personal trainer and fast! I found Burntown Fitness! Personal trainers Kisar and Traci have the expertise and patience to get you through your challenge, whatever that may be. In less than 3 months, I successfully completed the physical ability test exceeding minimum qualifications, and was able to be tested remotely at their facility. I have interviews lined-up in law enforcement! I am beyond grateful!

I was looking for a gym that was close to my house, and that had early morning sessions to fit my schedule. What I didn't expect is an amazing facility, with a fantastic training staff, an owner who cares about every single one of his clients on a personal level, and a clientele with that get-it-done attitude to keep me motivated. I am the kind of person that needs a trainer to tell me what to do, to push my limits, and take an interest in my health and fitness goals. I feel like Kisar (the owner) is always trying to improve the classes by bringing in new and fresh ideas to the table, which is great, considering I really enjoy challenges. And if you work out with him, be prepared to get REKT. That guy pushes you to your limits, every time!! Burntown also has nutrition programs to help you kick start your journey. And the trainers... can't be spoken about highly enough. Each one is FANTASTIC and adds their own flavor and style to their classes (s/o to Emily who has a booming/motivating voice, who takes time to correct my form and lets me know if something looks to easy for me). I love a gym that takes time to learn about each members goals, and help them achieve them. And I love a great community that supports one another, and you get that here with Burntown!

I enjoy swimming and Cascade has the best pool in the area so participation here is a matter of limited selection. My problem is the lack of policy/signs/refereeing something that keeps inconsiderate lane swimmers in line. Cascade has no posted policy or signs that direct how people should behave when there are others waiting for a lane. Since there are numerous older adults that seem to have developed blindness because they don't 'see' people waiting nor do they ask anyone. Instead, they see someone getting out of the pool and head directly to the lane that just opened up simply not caring that others are waiting. Most people seem to want to avoid conflict so nothing gets said empowering those who are already feel privileged enough to just jump in. Then there's me. I will say something and I might not be nice about it because your rudeness put you in my path. So, lane cutters if you can't turn to those waiting and ask then expect to get called out or for me to jump in 'your' lane. I simply won't stand for your rude behavior or whatever excuse you have for being like you are. As for Cascade - this on you. You have no policy, no guidance and no monitoring leaving us adults to police themselves. Fortunately, most do an exceptional job of policing themselves and have decency and courtesy. However, there are some that don't possess decency and probably have limited self-control when confronted about their behavior that could lead to an altercation between parties. If this were to happen to me you can bet that I would seeing you in court... And, while you are pondering this matter please scrub the pool! It's filthy. The walls and floor of the pool are coated in brown slime that cause slip when trying to push off. P.S. this also applies to those that are in a lane and invite someone that just shows up to join them instead of the next person in line as it should be. Friends don't get a free pass to the head of the line.

Within 5 minutes of speaking with Stephana, I knew her practice and wisdom would bring me to a place where I could embrace change and growth. After 3 sessions, I am amazed at the awareness I now have of my body and it's needs, my emotional and mental needs and how to best grow through the years of stress and my neglect in recognizing how much I need to take care of myself. Stephana is an encourager that builds inner knowledge and confidence for the journey toward wholeness and strength. She is a life changing coach and guide - I'm so glad I found her website. I'm excited and encouraged for what my future holds now!

Very rarely would…read moreI stick with anything for more than a few sessions--I would get bored, or overwhelmed, or injured, or just wander off. In between, had a regular cycle of body work appointments with physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, float tanks, and more to treat the stress and aches and pains of juggling a legal career, frequent travel and family. Then I found Yogilachi. It seemed a little intimidating at first, but I'll try most things once. And I'm so glad I did. The movements are available and beneficial whatever the fitness level, the instructor cares deeply and accommodates the individual needs of each student, and teaches the class to meet the needs of those in the class. Through the semiprivate sessions that incorporate all the best and most effective movements and teachings from a variety of disciplines, and the latest information about physiology and healing, Yogilachi condenses the best mind and body work into each lovely session. The best part is the return on investment--putting in the effort to retrain the body has lasting effects far beyond the class hour. My own transformations have been profound--improved posture, stamina, recovery time, focus, mood, and time! All things we all want more of. As a result, I'm more focused and creative at work, more present for my family and a better human for the border collie. Where I would be tired and sore from a few-mile walk with the dog, I can now roam the forests for 4 or 5 miles a couple of times a week and still have energy for all the other things that have to get done. Where I would return from a trip exhausted and sick with barely the energy to binge watch netflix, I now have the energy to wander the woods, which offers much better brain and spirit recovery value! And because I feel better, I manage stress better, I make better choices, I make better progress in meeting my goals--about food, about how I spend my time and about how to live each day. Results may vary, but any step toward greater health and wellness is a step in the right direction. Take the leap!

My son and…read morefiance have told me many times how nice it is inside the facility and specifically my son has said how badly he wants to try the waterslide. My fiance and I had a few minutes to spare today so we decided to drop in so she could show me the facilities and we could talk with someone about a membership. As we are walking down a hall (within the first 5 minutes of getting there) in mid-conversation this older man begins following us and recording us. I don't mean to stereotype but it is what it is, this man was filthy, looked like he hadn't showered or changed his clothes, you get the idea. He tells us that we look like people who stole from there yesterday. My fiance told the front desk and they basically said the following: He recently had his cell phone stolen, so thats why hes suspicous of us. (The one he used to film us with I presume?) And basically we just need to deal with it... I never do reviews and really try to avoid leaving negative ones. But not only did this homeless older man follow us with a camera in our face just for entering the building...the worst part is the staff basically profiled/stereotyped us and told us to deal with it. My fiance said it best, "how could we have avoided that? Just for entering the building we are subject to that?" I definitely don't feel comfortable allowing my child to be there in a bathing suit. God forbid he "fits the description" or something and has to deal with the harassment from guests followed by a shrug of the shoulders from management. If you have a son or daughter who goes here regularly I would just like to say BE CAREFUL and PAY ATTENTION to who may be watching or FILMING YOUR KID!
