We were wandering around Ponce Inlet after seeing the lighthouse, walking the beach, and some lunch at Boondocks when Ben came up in his golf cart and suggested that we should join the catamaran tour. We spontaneously decided to do so. It was fun and laid-back. Drinks, cheese and crackers, fruit were served and we could either just sit and enjoy or learn a bit from Ben if we desired too. This was the highlight of my birthday week celebration! The captain (I can't remember his name, but I know he used to work in IT) was the perfect person to head this voyage. His demeanor and relaxed attitude just enhanced the trip (not to mention, his vocals to the music were great!). Our trip started a bit late (2 of the passengers were running a bit late), but they accommodated and extended our trip to make up for the time. It was a perfect day, the weather wasn't too hot, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The water was choppy, but that just made the adventure more fun. We could see many dolphins and stop by Disappearing Island to take a dip in the water. I would recommend everyone to do this! I live in Winter Park and have been coming to NSB my entire life, and I can't believe this is the first time I have ever done this. I can't imaging this getting old, and I plan to do it again...VERY SOON! You can't beat $40/person for 2 hours out on the water. You can also bring a cooler with you and pack it full of snacks and drinks (alcohol is permitted). We had a wonderful time cruising with Pete and Troy. It really looked like it was going to be a rain out but our Captain outran the rain. We saw manatees, dolphins, a manta ray and a sea turtle. The crew even took the boat past a person's house North of the lighthouse in Ponce Inlet. We had refreshments delivered in a timely manner, I never ran out of beer! The 3hour sailing was very enjoyable! Due to high winds, we ended up staying in the inter coastal sailing to New Smyrna and back to Ponce Inlet. Once on board, the crew was very accommodating offering wine, beer or water. We were also served a cheese and veggie tray to share with everyone on the boat and then a fruit bowl was served. It would be great if guests were given an individual charcuterie box. A recent example I had was from aperfectpairing.net. It is similar to an airplane snack box. I would highly recommend the trip! 100% one of the most fun excursions I've done in Daytona Beach, and I've been coming here for 20+ years during the summers. The staff/captain were so friendly and accommodating! From making sure you had drinks/snacks to taking group pictures, they were wonderful! We did the sunset cruise and 3 hours felt so perfect! We experienced a bit of a rainstorm but the captain was great in navigating the water to steer us out of the worst parts. This was a PERFECT experience. My wife and I took a sunset cruise (as a birthday present). I feared the impersonality of an assembly line cruise operation (get 'em on, get em out, get em back, count the money). Nothing could be further from the truth of the experience. This felt like we were at a relaxed party invited by a couple of friends who own a nice sailboat and are taking it out for the evening. Relaxed but exciting setting off, then the first mate came around to each group of loungers on deck to offer beer, wine, or soft drinks ("just hold up the empty and I'll bring you another"). After a while he made the rounds again with a tray of cheeses, crackers, veggies, and dip. Closer to the end of the trip he would do the same with a bowl of cubed fruits. All of this mind you, clearly prepared at the time - not shrink-wrapped store bought. It felt fresh cut down in the pantry. And not rushed or pushy. Just, as I say, like a perfect relaxed party/outing on the water. We were lucky enough to come upon a pod of manatees swirling/wrestling around each other on the way out, and there was a shrimp boat that the captain steered us behind, so we could see literally 50 to 100 dolphins frolicking in the free food being discarded behind the boat. The temperature was perfect, the water sparkled as it rushed below and past the cat hulls, and we returned to port just as the sun was setting orange on the horizon. It was a perfect. evening. Pleasant crew, beautiful boat, three carefree hours on the water. You should be so lucky. read more

Sam, the captain, came over and told us a little background on the boat. I found it very interesting and wanted to share. It was built in 1985 for James Taylor's brother, Hugh. He used the boat around the Martha's Vineyard area in the 80's. He would also take it down to the Bahamas with his brother James and Jimmy Buffett onboard. They would just hang out and get away. Pretty cool. We also heard of a now missing photo of Bill Clinton playing his sax onboard. The cruise was 3 hours long (5:30-8:30pm). Food and drinks (water, cola, beer, wine) were included. Our favorite time was the last hour right around sunset. We got lots of great pictures. I have no problem giving this cruise 5 stars. I would suggest that they let everyone know of the ships history and also play some James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett while cruising! Our 2nd time out (also 3 years ago)on this great sunset cruise. The crew is a lot of fun after you get on the water. The catamaran is in beautiful condition. After getting into the Atlantic it's an exciting time of sailing as Capt Troy raises the sails. Soon they are taking drink orders. I do wish they'd expand their options to include diet sodas...we don't drink alcohol. But it looked like they had different wines and beers. They also bring around trays that include cheese, veggies, crackers and dip. Toward the end of the cruise a beautiful fruit platter is passed. Capt Troy is a real entertainer and even went back to retrieve some items that fell overboard. "Mom" really made sure everyone had what they wanted and Brandon was a great deckhand and very pleasant. The last time we went out we didn't see much of a sunset but last night was spectacular! A fun and great thing to do at $50 per person plus tip. read more

I would give it 6 stars if I could. It was absolutely fabulous. The staff was great and never let me run out of cold beer. The snacks and fruit trays were fresh and very good. Captain Troy was amazing. He knew the area and the waters so well! I enjoyed just relaxing and talking with Troy and the other passengers. It was so much fun. We were in the Daytona area for 2 weeks and did a lot of very fun things but this Sunset Cruise was absolutely the top spot on my list. Relaxing & enjoyable 3 hours of sailing on a 50' Catamaran with very friendly crew. Although there were 28 others aboard, we all had plenty of room & didn't feel crowded. Gentle breezes as we sailed at "touring speed" along the many waterfront homes, past the historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, the fishing jetty & into the Atlantic Ocean. Wine, beer, sodas, veggies & dip, cheese & crackers, & fresh fruit trays were served by the crew. Restroom onboard too. Sailed from 5:00 till 8:00. Lots of nearby restaurants for dinner afterwards. It is a 3 hour boat ride on the Atlantic including endless drinks, constant snacks, a great music selection playing at a good volume in the background, and a gorgeous tour of the Atlantic (and some completely dreamworthy expensive houses on the coast). These guys were outstanding! The cruise was super fun and the crew were great. I was a bit worried that my sons (ages 8 and 5) would grow tired or bored on a three-hour sunset cruise, but they definitely did not! We sailed out into the Atlantic for about an hour, then turned around and made a nice little motored cruise down the Intercostal Waterway. The sunset was spectacular and the atmosphere on the boat was very informal, happy and fun. There were light, healthy snacks on board (fruit, crackers, cheese and veggie trays), as well as sodas, canned beer and wine. You're also permitted to bring your own beverages. The crew was great with my Boys, even letting my 8-year-old "steer" the boat (with the captain standing right at his side, of course). I can't say enough good things about these guys! read more
