I personally don't believe that disability services should be cut, but this one is an exception. The counselors are not there for their clients, only to make paychecks for doing little or no work for their clients. Nobody, I know likes the program, especially if you are looking for a job. You are much better off looking for a job yourself! You are your best advocate, not them because they will mislead you. I recommend VESID be shut down and be replaced by an organization that is more efficient and useful.

In my experience NY VESID/ access ended up costing me money in the long run by telling me to get back into college that and the gas money spent on traveling back and forth to VESID for a lousy 5 min talk with a vesid counselor who just tells you a bunch of crap then sends you on your way. BTW the Vesid counselors will just blow smoke in your rear and sit at their comfy desk telling you what you should do. Hell if someone gave me a state job like that I could do the same thing ( tell people bull crap) and never get fired for it. last job I had if you could not do it well your rear was out the door. this is not true for state jobs... NY state Vesid and other State operations are all broken and need to be cut completely from the budget period more so the ones that do not produce any results.. Vesid should be shut down.... they have 5 or 6 people doing a job that one person who actually worked could do... if you don't believe me just sign on and see for your self..
