I gave a ".5 " star for this facility due to being the closest to where I reside, but had to round…read moreit up to the nearest whole number. Most nursing staff on the second floor and x-ray technicians have an attitude. Poor communication. My mom, a stroke patient with aphasia went to the ER due to a UTI. The ER doctor wanted to keep her for "observation". That is exactly what they did! Dr Justice prescribed morphine! The staff drugged her with sedation deprived her of hydration and nutrition not given any nutrition or protein for 10 days, and observed how she was loosing weight, with not being able to swallow, eat or drink. They were "observing" her dying! I could not make it to the hospital for 5 days due to a major ice storm and living 30 minutes away. On the third day of my mom being their, a male nurse, I believe his name is Tyron Thomas called me during the major ice storm and asked me to drive to the hospital to feed my mom. I said WHAT? I brought to his attention the storm, that I could not get out. I then gave him advice on how and what to say to my mom to get her to eat. He said, "oh I know how to do my job, I've been doing this for quite some time". I was besides myself, then wondering why he called me if he knew what to do. He then told me he had given my mom morphine. I told him not to give my mom morphine, she has a UTI and needs antibiotics. He then threw an attitude towards me as if I was a know it all. Needless to say we got into a heated conversation. I asked to speak with the doctor. I spoke with Dr Justice to ask him why my mom was on morphine. He said, "it looked like your mom was in pain". I asked him, "did you ask her if she was in pain"? He said, "no". I told him she's there to be treated for a UTI, and not to give her any morphine, give her hydration and nutrition. He explained she has been given antibiotics and now have her on IV for hydration, but she won't drink or eat. Once I was able to get to the hospital, 5 days with the roads still icy, I saw my mom for the first time after leaving her at the ER. She was bones, her tongue sunk back into her mouth, her lips purple and chapped, her pacemaker protruding out of her skin, and not being able to move. I was appalled! I gave my mom moister for her lips and a sponge of water in her mouth which she savored and wanted more and more. The doctor was unavailable, I told the doctor's assistant to put a PEG tube in and help her. She said they can't do that there at Baptist Health - Heber Springs. I said then transfer her to a Hospital that can. She then was transferred that day to Unity Hospital in Searcy. As I was walking out of the hospital that day I heard an elderly man limping out of the ER and crying, saying this place is terrible. After a long process of gettin my mom back on her feet, she is now walking, eating, and drinking. But because of Heber Spring Baptist Health Hospital depriving her, they caused more damage to her brain than she had. Baptist Health Hospital has caused my mom to be in a state of her not knowing what to do or how to do it. This is a short explanation of what happened here with my mom. This hospital also misdiagnosed me in 2019. I believe the doctors are students, and the nursing staff is brought on from off the streets, because they obviously are not intuitable nor have the skills of experience that should be given at a hospital.

i could not go back and see my family member for an hour because they dont know how yo run a ct…read more they tried 3 times. my family has a severe migraine that can lead to seizures. the nurse - kate - pointed her finger in my face and gave me the whatever hand to the face gesture. i asked to go see my family member. she wanted to get smart and cocky. my family member decided to leave because of no service. they stuck us in a corner room while they're up at the desk laughing it up. cant wait to speak with the upper authority of the hospital. oops. . . i actually had my phone on record. i didnt get told not to. . . soooo. . . i will not go back to this hospital other than to speak with upper authority and kate. i would definite like a sit down with management. see you tomorrow.
