I had an area on my lower nostril that kept itching; so I saw Jackie Noah, PA-C for a biopsy. The…read morebiopsy came back positive for basal cell carcinoma. Heidi, Jackie's nurse, scheduled me for Mohs surgery with Dr Joseph Prohaska, DO. Dr. Prohaska practices in the same office. How convenient !! Dr. Prohaska was very nice in explaining my treatment options and allowing me to make decisions. Also, there is an onsite lab that analyzes the skin removed surgically to determine if more tissue needs removing ensuring all cancer cells are removed in the least invasive route possible. The wound is almost healed now and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Healthstar Dermatology for one's skin needs. They also have Botox and other antiaging treatments available. Give them a call today. :)

HOWEVER, if your preference is a dermatologist office that puts the patient care first, then stay away from here. My experience: First visit went fine. Insurance paid their share and office billed me balance to which I paid. On follow-up appointment co-pay was being demanded immediately after I furnished my D.L. and insurance card. [Strange how patients are suppose to trust this facilities employees with our health and bodies, but they don't trust us (the patients) with the co-pay even before we're seen, and especially when we've provided insurance and returning for a follow-up visit.]. After giving her cash for the co-pay, and before she could even give me my change, I inquired "if I cancel this appointment am I still going to be charged?" She said no, so I cancelled the appointment, had them return my money I had just given them and walked out. To use restaurants as an analogy; At McDonalds you pay first, then receive cheap meal. At a Fine restaurant with professional chefs, first you receive the product of their expertise, then pay. This place is a McDonalds. I deserve better. Do you?
