After my last review, I received an invitation from Patrick to revisit the store over the weekend. Boy were they busy during opening weekend! But I was glad to have spoken with Patrick and got his recommendations for my friend and I. For the second visit, I had the Cheezo Pink Peach drink, with 100% sweet since the last time 50% sweet was too bland. It was the perfect drink for me -- though I subsequently tried 75% sweet and it was even better! So if you drink 50% sweet at other stores, I'd recommmend having 75% here as a starter. Otherwise, the next time I'll just order extra cheese foam since I love the creaminess so much! My friend had the White Peach Oolong tea, and she did say it was really good as well. I dropped by Fuji Tea as the last spot of my Chinatown take out run this past weekend. I heard of this place from a few instagram accounts that I followed. I really wanted to try their Oreo Milk Tea with Cheese Foam as it sounded pretty intriguing. I ordered my large Oreo Milk Tea w/ Cheese Foam as the first drink then got a couple of small/medium brown sugar milk tea drinks per their current special. I ordered the brown sugar drinks half-sweet. It came out to be $15.09, which is pretty much the standard Boba drinks price. The wait is not more than 5 mins with 3-4 customer ahead plus some callins/web order ahead of me. The Oreo Milk Tea w/ Cheese foam came in a hard plastic cup which I ended up reusing the cup for a few times before I threw it away. The drink was just OK at first sip. However, when I got toward the bottom where I can sip the crushes of Oreo and cheese foam together things got much much better. So yes, there is a trick to enjoy this drink. As far as the brown sugar boba drink, my mom liked it . Then at home after several hours in the fridge, my wife got a chance to drink it and she also liked it. They both said that the drink was not too sweet and had the right amount of sweetness. Over all, I would give this place a solid 4-star rating. This is still not my #1 boba joint but it is definitely in my top 3. read more

I love everything about this place minus the super slow service. It's probably because they had quite a bit of large takeout orders prior to us getting there, but as they handmix everything it does take longer for your drinks to come out. The strawberry milk with coconut pudding is so good! I got it 25% sweet and it was still plenty sweet due to the strawberry fruit & the coco pudding. Also added brown sugar boba and I'm definitely a fan of the boba. My bf got their signature milk tea 50% sweet and it was a 8/10. I would definitely come back and try more drinks, just hope the service will be faster! The cups are a nice touch as they're thick, reusable and have a separate opening for sipping. read more

This is a pretty solid boba spot. I've been here a couple of times and I personally enjoyed the Assam Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba and the Super Grapefruit Tea. Their boba was cooked perfectly whenever I came here, and I also liked how fresh my grapefruit tea tasted. It kinda smells like a restroom in here, I'm not sure if it's the mop they used because the floor was still wet..? but it was a very pungent smell. I still decided to order anyway. I wasn't going to stay there and drink it. I ordered the watermelon passion fruit with passion fruit jelly. It was one of their popular drinks. I thought it was alright. It was a beautiful drink but the watermelon didn't really blend well with the passion fruit in terms of flavor, even after mixing it. Another day, another drink. Heard about this spot from a FB food group and stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy. They are practicing social distance - mask and 6 ft apart. It's not very big. They gave about 5/6 tables and a "bar" type area. The decor is adorable. This was my first visit and I ordered the signature fruit tea, watermelon passion fruit and an Oreo milk tea (for a friend). Make sure you have your receipt because when they call your number they will ask to see it. The signature fruit tea was on point. Fruity but not overdone. If you like watermelon, then the watermelon passion fruit tea is for you. Very refreshing. So. I did go back. During the week and it wasn't as busy and this time I tried the white peach oolong tea with cheese foam. The cheese foam us cream cheese based and it adds a different texture to the drink. It isn't my thing but it wasn't bad. The white peach didn't have enough flavor for me. I do want to go back and try the rose milk tea which seemed to get high marks. They look like they're known more for their fruity drinks but I still couldn't help myself and opted for the signature milk tea since that's how I judge most shops. Definitely not disappointing - strong black tea, sweet brown sugar boba and larger than expected portions. I ordered a small but it looked more like a large at other shops I've been to. I do think the drinks are on the sweeter side - I had 50% sweet but with the brown sugar boba, arguably you could even go down to 25%, so you can use that to calibrate. My coworker brought me an assam milk tea with coconut pudding and it was good so I went on my own to try out their other drinks. I got the strawberry smoothie with cream. The drinks are good and they have toppings that other tea shops typically don't have. But I gave one star because one of the workers was literally cutting her nails over the trash can next to the counter where they make the drinks and have their toppings and ingredients. That's very unsanitary and not professional. I hope management can train their employees and address this issue of food safety. read more

Fuji Tea is a newly opened boba place hidden in the corner of the Metropole Plaza (the one with the Jusgo Supermarket). The interior was very clean and cute. There were so many photo ops around the store, I felt like I could get a nice picture of the drink at any angle. Although the store is pretty small, there was a decent amount of seating space. Watch out for the customer service though, because the workers seem to be more comfortable using chinese. A lot of the people who went to the store ordered in Mandarin Chinese. I was a bit caught off guard when the worker started taking my order in Chinese (thankfully I'm fluent, so I understood). Don't let this discourage you because I was able to still order in English. Now getting to the drinks, I will say that they were enjoyable to look at, but the taste was just meh. It was your standard boba place, so the drinks did not blow my mind away. I asked for 50% sugar for both of my drinks (Dirty Boba and Rose Milk Tea), but they were still incredibly sweet. If you aren't a huge fan of overly sweet drinks, definitely ask for 50% sweetness or lower. It was also on the pricey side, probably because they use the nicer plastic cups and offer a cute cup holder. But with this price and average drink taste, I wouldn't choose Fuji Tea as your frequent boba fix. read more

I'm so happy to have another delicious local owned teahouse to add to my list. This place is gonna be big! They r not like other typical teahouses. They have a lot of different stuff that other place don't have. I especially love their coconut pudding and I don't normally like fruit milk drinks, but I do love the strawberry milk here. I also tried the red bean drink which was good but be careful as the red beans made the drink super super sweet. I always order all my drinks with normal sweet levels, but for that one, u might want to lower the sweet levels. I tend to always find 1-2 things at every teahouse n stick to it, but I feel like I would love several different things here. Can't wait to try them all.. definitely will have to come back 100 more times to try everything lol I'm a milktea junkie, I love many tea houses in Houston, I believe we have some of the best tea houses in the whole country.. I go to different ones depending on my moods n my most favorite ones r family owned. Watermelon passion fruit tea - $5.95 (3/5) Compared to the signature fruit tea this drink has less tea flavor. It more like watermelon juice, nothing else special. Cheezo pink peach - $5.50 (1/5) If you wanna try this drink, I recommend you to get it without sugar. The cheese foam tasted like milk foam and it is sweet. We requested the sugar level to 25% and it still hella sweet (it tasted even sweeter than the 50% sugar watermelon tea we ordered). I probably will come back and give them another chance. This place just opened maybe a month ago, what attracted me to come here were their colorful & how well they presented their drinks (this is just looking on their Yelp page). For me presentation is one thing but the taste is everything. I ordered the Watermelon passion fruit tea & Red bean milk tea with no ice. A lot of tea spots will charge extra if you want to fill it to the top because you asked for no ice (understandable) but they did it with no charge, so me HAPPY. Okay, so on to my drinks, while my watermelon passion fruit tea was refreshing & it came with fresh fruits, I was hoping to taste 50/50 watermelon & passion fruit. What I got was like 20% watermelon & 80% passion fruit. There were a couple more things I was a bit disappointed about, I didn't get a strong taste in tea even at a 25% sugar level & there were watermelon seeds in my drink, which is a no no for me. On the bright side the red bean milk tea knocked my socks off, I can drink it all day; next time I'll ask for more red bean because it was amazing & had the perfect amount of sweetness; SO addicting. Everything was 100% ice and sugar. My bf loved the Super Citrus, said it was very refreshing. For me, I will pass cuz it literally tasted like lemonade, no offense, I love lemonade but I was looking for something more "boba-ish" idk don't come for me lol I love my drink! I wanna taste the cheese foam alone but I held myself back and shook beforehand. It was sweet enough, I could still taste the tea in there, not so much white peach flavor, just tea. My new FAVORITE tea place! This location is actually the FIRST U.S location from Taiwan! I've tried so many drinks from here already and have loved all of them! They use only real and natural ingredients! To start, I love their advertising and the photos on the windows. It helped me order with their long extensive menu. Service was okay, not the friendliest people. Drinks took about 10 minutes or so maybe longer. The fruit tea was extremely sweet, I definitely would get this at 25% sweetness this time even though I usually get 100% sweetness. I like the variety of fruits and how pretty the drink is. The black sugar milk tea with Boba definitely was a disappointment. The Boba was extremely overcooked as if you were eating pudding. Whenever I drank it through my straw, it tasted like mush. The tea was just okay. I was excited to try Fuji Tea and came last Sunday, overall the experience was pretty good & I plan on coming back to try more drinks! The cashier who took my order was nice as well. I ordered their white peach oolong tea latte (with 50% sugar) which was tasty, but I wish there was a stronger peach/oolong tea flavor which I personally felt like wasn't very evident (maybe it was bc I didn't mix it before drinking). While the drink itself wasn't too sweet the boba definitely compensated for it - it was very chewy & well cooked imo! Full of flavor. Also, the service did take awhile. While most boba shops tend to be quick when making the drinks, I waited awhile for my order, but I imagine it's because there was a lot of people there.
