They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

We needed to replace our faulty, 25 year old gas fireplace. We thought it would be a…read morestraightforward job but it turned complicated when we discovered that the firebox that housed the insert had been incorrectly altered during a family room remodel, and was unsafe due to potential fire danger (yikes)! We thought we had to tear out and rebuild the granite surround and mantel in addition to buying a new insert, but Ryan, the manager, and Julio, the installer, who both came to our house to inspect, offered a much less expensive option of removing the unsafe firebox materials, and adding brick to frame the surround. John, the mason, completed that job masterfully, and Julio did a great job installing our lovely new Regency gas fireplace insert. The fireplace itself is so nice. It has a modern, streamlined look, and although we haven't used it yet because of our nice weather, when we tested it after installation, we found that it emits lots of heat and looks so pretty with the flames and the lighted up embers. From start to finish, our experience with Walnut Creek Fireplace was excellent! Ryan was very helpful as we were trying to figure out our plans and what fireplace would work for us (he even came to our house twice). And we were so grateful that Ryan, Julio, and John figured out how to save our existing surround and mantel (saving us lots of money). I am a repeat customer and was told there was nothing else that could be offered to me. I Paid for a full inspection 2023 or 2024 and the year before had an inspection as well. I was told it's not needed every year unless there are problems. But their policy now is of such if they touch my insert, even removing the glass to hit a reset button for the remote they would have to do a full inspection. So total Cost would be close to $600.00 when all that is needed is a remote. I did find a company to Come and handle the remote only but I would have rather stayed with Fireplace Tech. Disappointed

For my initial consultation appointment, I was set up with their awesome employee Mike Carson. Mike was the best to work with, as he was a very professional individual, who seemed quite knowledgeable about the products, and services that Den Defenders offered. Mike helped me find the perfect solution for my home, and family's needs, as we needed a door that would allow more airflow into Our home for the hot summers, while keeping out insects, and also being very secure, so that we can sleep without worry of any intruders entering our home. Mike recommended the Viewguard security door, as it appeared to meet all of my family's needs. After Mike educated us on the door, its quality, and its features, We were sold, so we ordered one, and set up an appointment for the install date. When it was install day, My family was very excited, because when we first seen the door, it looked like a very high-quality, and sturdy unit. The install took about a few hours, as my home needed some stucco modification for the door to fit, but the Den Defenders crew had all of the tools/ equipment to get the job done, and they even kept the area clean as they worked, which was a huge relief, and very professional on their part. I'd like to point out that I couldn't be more happier, and satisfied with my purchase, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the market for a high-quality security door installation. Now prior to me visiting their show room, I went to REPUBLIC warehouse and picked (took picture) SPC vinyl type that I wanted for my house. Richard was very accommodating when I told him, I wanted a specic vinyl. He just asked for the picture and info of the Vinyl that I wanted, and did all the logistics behind the scene. During the installation process days, Richard and his team (I remember Matt and Tony), were always punctual and efficient. They were very meticulous and worked section by section of my house. They moved the furniture, removed the carpet and baseboards, cleaned the floor, leveled uneven sections, and installed high quality anti-moisture (instead of plastic alternative), installed the vinyl, upgraded my baseboard and even did some paint job post installation. Floorings, i've found water damaged on my subfloor. Why did I have water damage? May you ask well when they built the house, they built it with particle board on the floors. If you can only imagine that Richard gave me the option. He said you can cover it up. It is waterproof vinyl, but I don't recommend it. We went with his recommendation. I had the sub floors replaced with 3 inch. A treated wood, the floors were installed. It took a little bit longer on our timeline, but we are so happy with the work that was done.
