This place is the worst place to buy fruit in the state of Florida! The service was horrible and one staff member was very rude. I was going there to get some fruit and the worker moved my basket while I was putting fruit in it and i couldn't reach it to put the fruit in my inside the basket. There was another guy customer who was buying stuff and he moved my basket so he could help him first instead of me when I was first in line! Worst place ever never returning! read more

Visited 2/17/26. Owner of a fruit-only nursery called "Gold Gardening" in Indiana. Really really impressed by this operation. If you want to try out uncommon, tropical fruit, and buy the trees they grow on, this is the place. Staff was very kind, took us on a tour and showed us around, even suggested other local nurseries that stock other things. This isn't just a place to buy plants, it's truly an experience. This was the only mango market in the Bokeelia area of Pine Island, Fl. My wife and I purchased 11 mangoes and a avacado for a whopping $78. The male owner had handed me a small unripe Neese Berry which I had assumed was a complimentary gift but the female present included it in the pricing, "stating she didn't give away anything thing for free". I won't be visiting this place again and I would caution other customers to stay clear. This experience left a sour taste for mangoes it my mouth, but my wife just chalked it up to the game after the two hours round trip drive. read more

Came here to browse mango trees but ended up leaving with one mango tree, two banana plants, and 6 palm trees. We loved how passionate and knowledgeable the team was about all their trees. I really, truly, did not expect to buy anything but we found the trees to be reasonable and the service was awesome. They delivered our plants and planted them in our yard, it has made such a difference and we love how our landscaping is transforming the house. We will def be back to get more plants. We loved the little farmers market as well, we tried the sugar cane drink and it was so good! read more

We were in Venice and Englewood and had time to burn. So kids and I decided to drive another hour to Pine Island for mangoes. Stanley's was already closed so we came to Fruitscapes instead. Last time we were here they didn't have a lot of variety but the only one close that's open. Well I'm glad we made a stop. They had Philippine mango, still green which is perfect. Got 9lbs for my mom to bring back to Va. I bought close to 30lbs of manilita, carabao, 8 lbs of lemon meringue which is my #1 fav variety and another kind the name I can't remember. There were a few coconut creams mixed in as well so I was happy since it's my 2nd fav mango. Most of what they had was Nang doc Mai, cogshall which makes me cough like crazy, and a few Indian varieties. You can walk around the front of the property where there are lots of fruiting trees and take selfie's. read more

I have read about visiting Bokeelia and the mango festival they hold in the summer! I had to come here! I was on the hunt for fresh off the tree mangos and lychee! Unfortunately it's still a little bit early. Fortunately, this is a tropical fruit haven. I never saw Jackfruit trees which are impressively huge fruit. I saw the mangos off the tree which are so cute. I wish I had one. I also saw the sugar apple trees. They have various fruits and veggies. They also sell fresh sugar cane water and coconut water. I really felt like I was in the tropics. They have a stand that sells El Salvadorian food - pupusas, smoothies, quesadillas, pasteles. They were so good. Check it out! There is not much on the island and this is definitely one cool must stop spot! read more

Been wanting to visit this place for a year just to check it out and see Bokeelia. Nice drive from Bonita- about 1hr 20min. We didn't know anything about fruit trees but the guys that work there stopped in their golf cart to help us out; real knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection and a very cool place. Molly and I told them we wanted an orange tree so we could make screwdrivers. We ended up with a Valencia. Its in a 15gal pot and about 5' tall. $125. Fun trip; good place, highly recommend. read more

Drove from Fort Myers to find out about growing Mangos and Avocados. We came to the absolute right spot. Steven could not have been more knowledgeable or helpful. Patiently answered every question we had. The plants here all look great and well looked after and the selection is amazing. So far I have only been buying the produce from fruit scapes. I have to say that the fruits and vegetables are incredibly fresh. Most of the offerings are organic. There is a large selection of homemade jams and pickled vegetables. There are lovely fruit breads which are more like a muffin which are both gluten-free and traditional. At times there are fresh juices, like sugarcane juice. They also have farm fresh eggs often. From lots of people that I have spoken to in this area their trees and plants are above standard incredibly healthy. The staff here is beyond the beyond wonderful! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I would recommend Fruitscapes. read more

I've heard about this place from a few people. It's kind of hard to find. Disguised in the beautiful tropics of Bokeelia, I actually passed it but found it on the way back. I went out on a Wednesday and picked up a few really nice organic tropical fruits. (papaya, lemon, tiny bananas (forgot the name but they are awesome!), passion fruit and a few veggies. The guy that works there is super friendly and told me about all the fruits and veggies they grow there. They harvest most of their crops on Wednesday and open on Thursday and Friday starting at 10am for the big event. I found some great things and can't wait to go back. The climate on this part of Pine Island seems to be the same as many parts of Hawaii so it's cool to find fruits that you can't find anywhere else. Looking forward to the mountain apples next summer! ;) They also sell all types of tropical trees and plants. And, they take credit cards. Support them and all the other organic farmers out there! We began vacationing on & near Sanibel specifically because we were told about this place, and well, the husband is addicted to mangos. They have so many varieties-as well as other tropical fruit (even coconuts to drink and eat from). We have bought HUNDREDS of dollars worth of mangos (seriously, not an exaggeration). There is also home made bread (locally made by "Momma Donna") and local honey and other condiments. Fresh off the trees-it doesn't get any better. Also, Donna grows and sells various tropical plants-the orchids are amazing! On the weekend, Bea sets up shop and sells Guatemalan (?) food...also delicious. Jesse, Steve, Gary, Donna and their crew have been recognized by none other than Queen Martha (Stewart) and rightfully so. These are great people doing great work. This is why we come back here about six times over our two weeks in SWFL, and head straight for FruitScapes. When we relocate here in about 10 years, we will be buying our fruit trees from them. My aunt and I went all the way to pine island to buy tropical fruit trees for our home in Lehigh. We have never been to that part of pine island and could not be more happy with the trip. We picked up a Super Julie Mango, Sapodilla (neeseberry), June plum, soursop, jack fruit trees, & passion fruit vine. Going back soon with more people because they have so many different variety's of mango & avacado trees for sale. I could not believe it!! Loved this place. Big ups! Good selection of unusual fruit trees as well as a few bromiliads and orchids. Some mangos for sale when we were there. Main complaint wanted to buy lychee tree but sales lady was not fluent in english, could only show us one variety when they advertise 6 varieties. Also not able to explain differences in varieties of mango trees for sale. read more

This nursery has such a vast selection of tropical trees. We were able to find our guava and mango tree with the help of the friendly and knowledgeable staff. They also had an area to buy and eat food. They were selling papusas the day we were there. Will be coming back for more trees and good eating! read more
