Just doing my part ... helping Fritomania close for the season.

5 stars out of 5 for: - fresh fries for their poutine - one of the best poutine chip stands in Ottawa's east end - consistent taste - friendly staff - family owned small business - let's support it

Perfect roadside shack appearance, a few indoor seats - very popular with take out

Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Possibly the best poutine on the planet, definitely the best I have ever eaten. Simple, fast, HOT, and a heck of a lot. The nicest people behind the counter. If you love a dive - this is your spot. Even if you don't - grab take out and indulge in this divine comfort food.

WOW. I'm not sure what I was expecting when my boyfriend suggested we head here for lunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Even as we were pulling into the strip mall parking lot, I could smell the distinct aroma of perfect chip truck poutine. A little shack (coincidentally near a Weight Watchers and yoga studio!) in suburban Orleans, this absolutely qualifies as a hidden gem. There's plenty of picnic tables outside and a few tables and chairs inside just in case you'd rather be indoors. We both ordered hot dog and poutine combos and a drink, and the total came to $13 - totally worth it! The operator was super friendly and sweet, and even managed to calm down an irate customer who was upset that we got served before him, by explaining that it's mandatory for them to cook hamburgers to a certain temperature. I took one bite of my poutine and was in total food paradise. The fries, made with peanut oil, are absolute perfection. Crispy and golden and smothered in fresh curds and savory gravy, this is how poutine was meant to be made (and devoured). The hot dog was also delicious and tasted just like it was hot off the grill. The bun was toasted too! They have plenty of toppings including pickles, horseradish, onions, and the other standards. I also happened to noticed they recently added deep fried bananas to their menu - YUM! If you're in Orleans (and maybe even if you're not!) you need to get yourself to this fantastic small business. Now that I know it exists, I'm really going to have to limit my indulgences!

Its good. Kinda overhyped, the serving sizes are really large so a medium is enough to get u full :)

The BEST poutine! The key is peanut oil and their gravy.

They make the best fries. If you are looking for good junk food, this is the place to go.

Been there many times for the best fries & gravy in Orléans. The poutine is out of this world.

We've going to Fritomania for years. Best fries around. Fresh potatoes, cut on the spot.

Anyone ever notice they don't have refrigeration. Stock is stored outside in a truck or car.

I assure you, the best poutine in Ottawa/The World! Absolutely no other place comes even close. Roll on 15th Feb when they're back open.

I have eaten a lot in the years since I first had it off a chip wagon in the Byward Market in Ottawa.

I went here with my brother to get some fries, pogos (aka corn dogs, I hadn't realized that "pogo"…read moreis an exclusively Canadian term until my American friend, Karen K, pointed it out to me, lol) and hot dogs for my little nieces. I have never had a pogo in my life and have no inclinations to change that. I also don't like hot dogs, so all I tried were the fries and they were great. The fries were a bit sweet (from the type of potatoes they use) and they tasted fresh and not from frozen. I liked the texture, they were not mealy. I like that they are unsalted. I think a large was like $6 or something like that. Pogos and hotdogs are $0.99 each. My older niece who is a picky eater and had never had a pogo before, took one bite and proclaimed "I LOVE POGOS!" Lol. She ate one and a half pogos, which is a lot for her. The breading looked crispy. The hotdogs were tiny and they were steamed. The nieces rejected them so my brother and dad ended up eating them. The place is really popular; we had to stand in line for a long time. Decor is old school diner-like. It reminds me of those casse-croutes that are ubiquitous in Montreal like La Belle Province, Lafleur Restaurants, and Green Stop. Most food here is greasy and fried. If you're trying to eat healthy this is not the place to go. It's not my kind of place, but for what it is, I think it's good. It's in a plaza, so lots of free parking.

I was looking forward to trying this based on the reviews and was disappointed. Ordered the poutine…read moreand it just was underwhelming. The gravy didn't have much flavour wasn't warm enough, so the cheese barely melted. It just kind of sat there and was a bit congealed. Fries were nothing the write home about either. I was expecting a lot better based on the reviews. Maybe it was an off day who knows. The inside needs some updating, as it's kind of dark inside, they barely had any lights on.
