I LOVE DOG. Sorry, got a bit excited there…read more
At my beloved IÉSEG in my beloved Lille, myself and the other exchange students mostly had classes from 8.30-12.30 every day. Upon leaving our class on any given day, you would definitely hear "Dog?" and we would all suddenly forget the past 4 hours of relative boredom (depending on the class, of course) and head to Dog Sandwichs to sample their culinary delights...or just stuff our faces.
Despite the massive (seriously, massive) range of choice at Dog, I have only ever had 4 different types of baguette from there: chicken mayo, chicken curry, a tuna and fried onion concoction I asked for one day when I was feeling adventurous, and Brésil. The Brésil is made up of different types of cold meat, with sweetcorn and Andalouse sauce on. It is nothing short of delicious and I seriously wish there was some sort of substitute I could get back here!
Price-wise, Dog is brilliant. For around 3 euros you can get a half-baguette with any fillings of your choice, a bottle or can of juice/water and a snack like crisps, a Mars bar or a waffle.
Around lunchtime on weekdays there can be a bit of a queue due to lots of hungry students, but trust me - it's worth the wait!
