Terrible , terrible , terrible.... From the moment you walk in you are not even greeted, The two ladies attending they look at you like why you even here , ask them how we order and they just pointed at the stuff in the hot bar without any explanation. Food was horrible , don't waste your money here , it's totally with no flavor and blend ...

Coming from Los Angeles and my family culture is Nicaraguense I feel so much at home coming here. It's been a long search looking for something that describes home. After speaking to another Nicaraguan in Kissimmee he recommended me this place. I FREAKING LOVE IT! Reminds me so much of my mother's country. Nicaragua Managua. I had shredded beef which was soft and tender. Full of flavor. I also had chancho pollo (fried chicken). Gallo Pinto : black beans and white rice mixed together & of course platano maduro!! Seriously, I am in heaven. I wanted to buy more food but I have to pace myself. This place is only 12 mins away from where I live and I promised myself to go back and try other things on the menu like the Salpicon. Anyone who is interested in eating Nicaraguan food this is the place to go. From one Nicaraguan to another.... Salud!

I wish I could give this place a better rating. I wanted to like it but, unfortunately, it's not very good. To begin with, the food is kept warm under lamps rather than made fresh, which was unexpected and off putting right from the start. Secondly, the employees are not very helpful or attentive. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the old isn't great. I had tajadas which lacked flavor, as did the accompanying ensalada. I also had the quest frito which was flavorful but not warm and melty enough as, I previously mentioned, the food is kept under warming lamps. The one thing that did taste exactly as it's supposed to was the cacao drink, it was truly delectable! Overall, though, I didn't have a great experience and wouldn't recommend Fritanga La Nueva.

    Rice, Pork, Beef & Chicken!

One word: SABOR! (Flavor) Eating here makes me want to visit Nicaragua. I think they have the best roasted chicken in town! I also love their carne asada. So much so, that now if I go to a steak house and spend $30+ on a steak, I'm so disappointed because I know I could get the most flavorful carne asada at Fritanga La Nueva for half the price! The portions here are big. I usually can make two meals out of it. I absolutely love their soups too. Sometimes it's chicken, sometimes beef, and they put everything from potatoes, carrots, corn, and some other root vegetables that I'm not even familiar with but that are all so delicious. You get it with a side, and I highly recommend getting their homemade tortillas! If I'm feeling under the weather at all, this is my go to place for soup. I wish I knew how to cook like they do! The darker rice they have is gallo pinto, or they have white rice with black beans (arroz blanco con gandules). I usually get maduros as my side, but the fried cheese (Queso frito) and plantain chips (tajadas) are also favorites. Pretty much any pork or beef dish they have is delicious! I usually just point to whatever looks the freshest and I'm never disappointed. They offer you a salad with it which I usually pass on, it's more of a local in the know flavor I think. I always get their hot sauce (picante) with my carne asada. It's chopped peppers and onions with a vinegar style sauce and it's so good, they even sell it on its own. This place is actually a sister restaurant to Areperia La Nueva, which has Venezuelan style arepas and other food and is open late. They're both located in a shopping plaza off of Semoran right between Colonial and the 408, near a marathon gas station. Pro tip: the parking lot of the shopping plaza has a fresh coconut truck that will cut them open and stick a straw in them for you! Best electrolyte ever. & they also have sold fresh sugar cane on occasion! But if you're looking for something sweet at Fritanga La Nueva, try the rice pudding (arroz con leche)! You may not speak Spanish but that's ok just walk in point to what you want and enjoy some of the best Latin American food in town!

I do not recommend this place at all. I am Nica and from Miami and truthfully this food doesn't come close to the taste Miami has to offer. The prices are so high and the portion very small. And there is no taste. I ordered Nacatamales and the masa has no flavor at all. I couldn't even eat it because it was that bad. I've eaten their before and it's like the quality of the food has just been declining. I've tried different Nica places in LA and Miami but this doesn't come close to home at all. The jugos are pretty good though. At least something!

I'm a Nica who comes from Miami and was very excited to see this fritanga in my neighborhood!!! But very disappointed with the prices, portion of food, and quality. Expensive for nothing, never buying food from here again. $15 a plate of food for a strip of meat.

I have a few Nicaraguan friends and we always ask each other "when are they opening a fritanga in Orlando?" Well, here it is. I actually think that right now there are two fritangas in Orlando, of course, this is the only one I have been to so far. First off, "fritanga" is a pretty unique word to Nicaraguans. It means something like "home made food restaurant" and it also implies "fried foods". That doesn't mean everything here is fried, they also offer stews, soups, grilled and roasted foods, but everything is made and ready for you to point at it and get it boxed, kind of like a cafeteria. I came to get some rice and beans (gallo pinto), some fried white cheese (queso frito), and a cacao drink (cold chocolate/cocoa drink). I was sharing this food with friends, and it was a pretty bold move to go to a restaurant I have never been to before to pull this off. But, if you don't gamble, you don't win... and I love to win. My buddies loved the stuff, and one of my friends told me that the rice and beans actually reminded her of a dish her grandma used to make. That warmed my heart. Love wins always. So, yes, food is good. I also eyed some chicharrones (fried pork), tortillas, white cheeses (queso blanco, queso fresco, queso para freir), pastries, desserts (tres leches), and drinks. This place is legit, go before they blow up.

Pricing used to be reasonable and then they marked it up significantly. It's disappointing because the food is actually good.

With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. Next time I'll ask for a side of cucumbers or something to break up all of the fried elements, or order something that comes with slaw/veggies.

No fancy décor, no overdone plating--just honest, soul-warming food the way abuelita would make it. We ordered a few pupusas revueltas and they were thick, cheesy, and crispy at the edges--just how you want 'em. Each bite was loaded with flavor, and they didn't skimp on the fillings either (respectfully, some of y'all out there are serving tortillas with trust issues). The curtido came bagged up and packed with crunch and tang--exactly what you need to cut through that melted cheese goodness. Prices are humble, portions are generous, and while it may be a small spot, the flavors are huge. Whether you're a pupusa purist or just learning what curtido even is--this little cafeteria deserves a big spot on your food map. Bonus points: you'll leave full, happy, and maybe even planning your return trip before you've finished your last bite.
