The room was small but had enough space for two adults who weren't spending a ton of time there. The included breakfast buffet was genuinely one of the best I've ever seen at a hotel. Huge array of options hot and cold and the pancake/crepes with whipped cream and strawberry jam were a hit! Only reason we didn't rank five stars was the shower. It was cramped and a bit slippery and the shower head was not high up and didn't angle into the shower; it angled straight down and couldn't be adjusted because there isn't a real shower door or curtain, just a pane of glass that swings out and is approximately one third the width of where a shower door should be!

It is a newly constructed building, across from the new train station on a street that now has a string of new office and apartment buildings. The lobby and lobby restaurant area is a large open space flanked by floor to ceiling glass, which makes the space feel open and airy. The guest rooms are very large, almost American in size, but are still very Scandinavian in style - wood laminate floors with minimalist, but functional & comfortable furniture. The beds are very comfortable as well and the bathrooms are very well appointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

The Connect Hotel is a utilitarian hotel near the airport that offers a free shuttle bus (every 30…read moreminutes from about 4:00am to midnight) to and from Arlanda. For those who book cheap fares with long layovers like we did, Connect Hotel is perfect. There is nothing fancy here but it is quite nice. My traveling companion actually described it as "Ikea like." The hotel is clean, comfortable and quiet so we got a good night's rest before the last leg of our journey. There is a full bar in the evening -- which is great for a weary traveler. Their restaurant service exceeded expectations. You make your selections, pay at the bar and soon the food is delivered to your table in the commons area. You can eat it there or retreat to your room if you prefer. My traveling companion is vegan and though the menu did not offer vegan dishes per se, several items, including a hearty bulgar salad, were easily adapted to a vegan diet simply by omitting the cheese. I ordered a shrimp sandwich. The small shrimp (probably 36-40 size) were piled high on an open face sandwich dressed with mayo and garnished with a pickle and fresh veggies. Along with a side of fries it was a satisfying meal. Breakfast is served starting at 4:00am in the morning -- a definite plus for those with early flights. The breakfast buffet includes a selection of breads, cold meats and cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, fruit, cereals, juices, coffee and tea. They also offer gluten free and lactose free options for those on special diets (which also worked well for my vegan companion). We ate our fill and caught the 7:00am bus to the airport, getting there with plenty of time to leisurely work our way through security and to our gate. So if you have an itinerary like ours, you'll find that the Connect Hotel should serve your needs well.

"Are we at IKEA?!" First words out of our mouth…read more AMBIANCE: ------------ The lobby is neat, clean, and well decorated. Definitely something out of an IKEA designers' collection. The staff welcomes you from behind the reception desk, which also operates as a bar! So of course we were immediately fond of this place. STAFF: ------- Staff is helpful and courteous, and can help you figure out the best way to visit neighboring areas. They were quick to help when I requested a bag of ice for my ankle (which has been slowly healing from a grade 3 sprain since May 15). Really appreciated their concern. ROOMS: --------- They are TINY! But they get the job done. The four of us shared between us a double bed and a bunk bed. The boys graciously took the bunk bed. :) The bathroom is even smaller. If you bend over while sitting on the toilet, you may bump your head on the sink counter. If you try to shower in the magical glass door compartment that has no tub but doesn't leak water, you may bang an elbow or knee. But nothing we can't deal with for such a good price! FOOD: ------- Basic complimentary breakfast of lunch meats, cucumber & tomato, cheese, bread, granola and yogurt, some fruits, and coffee. Lunch and dinner (and of course drinks) are available for separate purchase. LOCATION: ------------ Perfect if you need to stay close to the airport. Since we had only one night here for our layover on the way to Barcelona, this was the best location. It was only about a 15-20 minute Uber to downtown Stockholm. Transportation rocked. A designated bus picked us up at the airport, dropped us off at the hotel, and brought us back to the airport the next morning. Very convenient! TIP: This will do the job and fit your travel budget. DATE TIP: Not the most romantic rooms for a getaway. Would recommend looking elsewhere! :D

We booked online because we had an early flight the next morning and needed a place to leave our rental car. The long-term parking at this place was the most affordable we could find. Add that to a night's stay under 80 USD and its a pretty affordable night's stay. Now obviously you have to lower your expectations due to that, but the room was really old and outdated. We didn't find any issues with the cleanliness but it definitely felt questionable probably just because of how in need of a face lift it was. Now, the breakfast..that was a whole nother thing. Gorgeous, extensive and never ending, fresh and delicious. I was incredibly impressed with the spread at this budget motel and it greatly outdid several of the higher end hotels we stayed at on our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, had a very easy shuttle trip to the airport and left our car in the safekeeping of the motel. When we got back we had absolutely no issues finding the shuttle and easily got back and picked up our car. As far as convenience, this place was a win win.

The breakfast was extremely good they open at 4am and have sandwich spread, cereals, fruit, and a few other things I ended up going back for more it was so good. All in all it was a good stay but I like modern things so would probably look for somewhere different next time. I did forget to mention that the hotel was 17$ uber ride from airport and also offers a free shuttle that runs every half hour 24/7.

After a flight cancellation, I began to look for lodging near the airport on booking.com because my…read moreflight had been rescheduled for the next day. Naturally, all the places next to the airport had no availability, but I did find Noors Slott, technically a castle (Slott) because it was originally owned by nobility, but looked more like a manor that was less than 10km from the airport and offered breakfast. Due to the windy path to get there and proof that Swedish taxis are expensive, the cost of the taxi from the airport was 695 SEK, but 515SEK to return because we used Noor Slott's preferred taxi service. By the way, there is no Uber service in this area. After booking, I was asked if I wanted to reserve a 3 course prix fixe dinner, otherwise Noors Slott recommended eating before arrival as there were no restaurants nearby. After reserving dinner (795SEK and optional wine pairing of 565SEK), I was asked if there were any dietary preferences as they wanted to accommodate as best they could. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our room located upstairs in another building. At our appointed dinner time, we were shown to our own dining room as every guest has their own area. Just before eating, we did opt to get a tour of the main building which had many rooms for the conference meetings and wedding parties that they host. The backyard had a garden and forest with many benches to slow down and enjoy the scenery. Because there was a fire that affected the top floor, the current owner remodeled the area into a pub, complete with a billiards table and dart board. Admittedly, the table and darts are very worn, but still playable. If you're a serious dart player (and most dart players I know are serious), bring your own darts as the few left are either broken or in poor condition. Beginning our dinner with an amuse buche of a Danish raw oyster with mignonette and lemon, our next surprises were roasted chanterelles, smoked perch, and dessert. Breakfast the next day consisted of a full European breakfast: French scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt with various toppings including granola, fruit, breads, cheese, meat, jam, and very light croissants, coffee, and assorted loose leaf teas where you can make your own tea bag with provided bags. Although I enjoyed breakfast, it was dulled by a staff member following me around whenever I got up to get something from the tea or food area. Was she afraid that I was stealing something? After I served some food from the buffet, she would immediately check the buffet. When I went to add milk to my tea after steeping, the woman reminded me to use a tea bag.......hmmmm....I already made my tea with a tea bag. Nonetheless, I would recommend this place located in Knivsta which is south of Uppsala to catch your breath and enjoy the surrounding area.

Food in the bistro is about avrage but could be better and not much to choice from if you are a vegeterian or only eat chicken and fish. Breakfast is just above average and it dos the job for most people but the downside is they cut up so much fruits and after the pandemic and especially in Sweden it feels unhygienic and unsafe to eat. But in all breakfast is good. The rooms are ok nothing special but good and the cleaning staff is super friendly and helpful. The gym is good and has all you need to keep in shape, but the sauna and the showers need a makeover and more regular cleaning During my 3 nights the showers was not clean even if i told them after the first night that the show was full of hair and you could see the hair was from more intimate parts. So if the clean they showers, put up some hooks for towels, fix the bucket in the sauna like buying a new one, put a thermometer in the sauna and maybe add some hocks or shelving, a hairdryer the sauna would be a great pleace visit again. The best thing would be a phone with a direct line to reception so you could order drinks like water, coffee and fruit and so one without having to leave the sauna area as it is on a sperat floor in the building from the reception.
