I go here once a week or so, looking for treasures. I don't always find anything but when I do,…read moreit's always a bargain. The store can be compared to Goodwill or Salvation Army or Oxfam, but in a smaller scale. Some items are overpriced but then again, they won't sell anyways. Nice staff and orderly!

Fretex I must say you were a disappointment. Many people compared this to red cross in Copenhagen…read moreor Goodwill in the USA, but you were neither. Think more quality clothing, much higher prices and no staff to be found. This store carried men/womens clothing, shoes, and then downstairs is full of household goods, glassware, cds/dvds/boxsets, books, and knic knacks. So for variety of items they probably deserve a 5. But for location and prices of the items 1 star. Their stores are not easily accessible by public transit and therefore you need to have access to a car. They do not have sales here, or mark items down at all from what I saw. I thrift shop all over the world and never have I seen such high prices for basic things, not even name brand items. Name brand items were costing 3 times as much as they would anywhere else in europe. My overall opinion of Oslo's "thrift" arena is stay away. Hit the local flea markets in the schools instead, you won't be finding any bargains here.

I thought this place was one of the best 'vintage' stores I have visited in Oslo. But then again,…read moreI haven't been to many places...and while this is called 'Velouria Vintage', I think it is more of a used goods store, not true vintage. I just don't consider an oversized Bart Simpson t-shirt from 1999 vintage. But nevertheless, there were some good finds throughout the place. The location was great as you can just hop off of trikk 11, 12, or 13 at Olaf Reyes Plass and walk up the hill a little and it'll be on the right hand side. The hours are wonderful. I love when places stay open until 7pm because it gives people who have a job (ie. almost everyone) a chance to shop when they are off of work. This place had quirky dresses, jackets, boots, purses, etc. Lots of band t-shirts as well (again, not necessarily vintage but more used). I am used to hundreds of vintage stores in the US, so it is really hard to rate a place that does Oslo well, but is not really all that good. That is how I describe this place. It is good for Oslo, but would quickly go under anywhere else. With that said, I'll definitely check this over-priced place out every once in a while to see what I can come up with.

However, the type of clothes they focus on are more in the range of women 50+ it seems. Not always, but the store does have many middle aged customers thus the type of clothes or vice versa? I agree with the other reviewers that the prices are somewhat high here. Don't forget this is second hand and should be cheap. The whole point, right? They have a tiny section of glassware, but clothes and shoes is the main focus. If you are a thrift addict, make sure you drop by once in a while but vintage lovers may wanna go to the shops downtown instead.

The biggest Fretex in the Oslo area with three floors of used clothing, furniture, books,…read more glassware, records and what not! It is mostly tidy and staff is helpful. I tend to find clothing rather cheap at this location and furniture somewhat pricy, however if they sell too cheap, it is bought and sold for the double by someone else anyways. This place is worth a visit!
