If you're like me, you do your research when looking for child care for your baby and I hope that I can add some value to that searching mama or dad! We recently moved from Chicago and had an amazing school for our little boy. It was one of the harder parts of leaving, knowing we had to take him away from there. Fortunately enough, we found Ms Amy and Ms Emily at Goddard of Carmel ( Westfield). We looked into a lot of schools in the area and felt this was the most like his other, but also felt the warmth when you enter the school. The school is full of vibrant colors and children's artwork, and all the staff says hello as you walk the halls. We've now been there for 2.5 months and I still feel like we've made the right choice. My son loves his teacher, Ms Sara, and she has truly made his transition so smooth. If there is ever a day that he just needs a little extra love, she's the first to pick him up and snuggle or chat with him. I can tell by her interactions, hellos and goodbyes, with the children, that she truly cares for them. Of course, there is the curriculum side as well that you're likely interested in, if you're looking into a Goddard. My son has learned so much in the short 2.5 months he's been there. He has a new song, new words, putting sentences together, asking real questions, almost every day! They have so much outside play as well! I'm slightly concerned about the winter and how much outside time they will get to burn off the energy, his past school had an indoor gym- I think we'll miss that part a little! We really do love the school and my son does too! I'd absolutely recommend it and plan to update this in the future when/if we should ever leave!

He was able to count to 100, memorize the 50 states, memorize and spell all the planets, share, and he learned to sit still for longer periods of time like for story time. He got sick much less often than other preschools we tried. Everyone was friendly all the time. My son said his teachers were always happy. When we ever had questions or concerns we were met with a happy director and assistant director who would bend over backwards to be sure our needs were met. We had the same teacher the whole time. I feel as if No Bullying should be enforced more because my daughter has commented on bullying in the school many times. There is only a bullying assembly once every couple of years and I feel as if there should be at least one a year. My daughter was excited to play in the orchestra last year but 5th graders can't, only sixth grade and up. That should be changed. Other than that, Great school, good education, and good teachers.

The smaller class sizes have made a huge difference for our children. Their teachers genuinely see them for who they are, not just academically but as individuals. There's a strong balance of accountability and encouragement. Students are challenged to do their best while also being supported and known. What sets this community apart is the faith-centered foundation. During a major life event for our family, our kids weren't just supported, they were surrounded by a community that consistently prayed over them and walked alongside us in a very real way. That kind of care goes beyond the classroom. What matters most to us is that my kids are thriving. They feel valued, they're growing in confidence, and they're being poured into by teachers who care deeply. That kind of environment is hard to find, and we're grateful to be part of it.

My first week there was a "random" drug test and Phil Nikirk (the high school principle at the time) watched as me and another student took a piss sample in the restroom. I'd say it took 5 minutes for me to actually go, it felt like this guy was breathing down my neck. Not only did I feel violated, the harassment continued throughout the year from all high school teachers. I'd get weird looks, and felt as though they wanted to burn me at the stake. This was partly because the school had driven me to a manic episode that pretty much ruined my senior year. Although I had to take a leap year, I still managed to play lacrosse at the same college I had committed to. The high school staff managed to create two semesters of suffering, at an apparently "good-willed" school. Lets not forget the prison-like exterior, it gives me the chills. Funny thing is that this school managed to convert me to a huge believer in faith when I left for college. You would be saving yourself lots of money by not coming to this school! As well as your child's sanity!

I'm a teacher so I work a lot with my littles on learning and they do even more at daycare. I taught my kids how to spell their first names and they came home after 2 weeks at daycare spelling their last name as well, singing about sharing, and really counting objects (you know, pointing and counting one by one instead of just saying random numbers ). I recommended Kingdom Kidz to a friend of mine with a newborn as well. She's been bringing her daughter for the last 3 months and says her daughter always comes home happy! After 2 weeks my daughter was attending in Kingdom Kidz she started to have a different behavior when she goes to the bathroom. She gets upset, she cries a lot and don't let me undress her to take a bath!! What is alarming for me because she used to love taking a bath and now she doesn't even want to be in the bathroom. I talked to a psychologist and because my house and the daycare are the only environments she's in this one recommended me to take my 19 months old to the kids bathroom that they have in the daycare so I could see her reaction. She started to freak out as soon the teacher opened this door for me. As a mother I got really worried so my decision was to take my baby out of here. The owner got really offended and she was kinda rude when she told me the true about the cameras that they were never working because she has more important things to do that fixing them! I asked about the cameras more than one time and she never told me this. There was always an excuse. I'm sorry but for me the most important thing is my daughter's safety and for them as a daycare this should matter too!
