Very pleased with the meal. Was a bit turned off by the 3 star rating but I think that is a bit unjust. The food was great. The server was on point. They had run out of the salmon by the time we can but we came in at 730pm. We got the mussels and calamari for appetizers. The mussels were great, the sauce was very well done but the mussels were a bit small compared to other restaurants. The calamari was not good. The portion was small in my opinion for the price and we sent it back after finding some cheese on it which the table couldn't have. The server was nice enough to take it off the bill. Best calamari I've ever had and have quite a few calamari's in my day. Clam chowder boule was also delicious not even a huge fan of bread but the bread bowl was perfect. What a great surprise Fresh Ketch was!! We stopped by for lunch, needing a nice outdoor eating experience and what we got was better than expected. The surf and turf was so plentiful and expertly seasoned. The fried fish platter was fresh and filling. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Standard seafood fare. We were walking along the shops of Hyannis and looking for a kid friendly spot with a decent menu. Fresh Ketch delivered! The atmosphere is underwhelming but the service is good. They had pretty decent sangrias too! My hubby got the seafood Rueben which he said was ok, my daughter got the kids fried clam platter which she seemed to enjoy and I got the grilled chicken sandwich with rice pilaf. Everything was good. I wouldn't run to go back but if in a pinch for a kids meal I'd certainly give this place another shot. read more

It's right on the main drag of Hyannis so for people-watching alone you should give this place a chance. We ate here yesterday and had such a great experience we went back today. The service was great - friendly, attentive and fast - and the ambiance can't be beat. We ate outside and had the benefit of a karaoke performance happening on the corner giving us a bonus show with dinner. The food is really, really good too! The clam chowder is thick and hearty and very yummy. The cold lobster roll was lightly sauced and piled high on a perfectly toasted and buttered split-top. Not a missed shell in sight! Came here on a whim after being turned away from Baxters so we were starved - ugh what a mistake - mid September on a Saturday night and there was no one at the bar and only 1 couple having dinner (Main Street was packed with people BTW), that was red flag number 1 - our waitress took about 10 minutes to get us our drinks (1 cocktail and 1 soda) and take our orders which was our 2nd red flag (there was no one else in the restaurant for christs sakes!) and unfortunately it took another 10 minutes for her to bring our our chowders (which were not hot) - so after about a half hour of starving, sampling lukewarm mediocre soup and our 15 month old daughter who had "had it" we canceled our dinner orders, paid the check and left. PS. the decor in Red Lobster is much more attractive. PPS. We hit Jerry's Seafood for takeout on the way back to our hotel and it was SLAMMIN - amazing fried clams, fries, onion rings and cole slow - we're retards and should've gone there in the first place! read more

Came here on a whim looking for a place to grab a quick bite, the host pulled us in promising great lobster! We ordered steamed clams, clam chowder and various seafood and steak dishes. The clams were too gritty for my liking, though I'm used to smaller clams that are less "sea" like. The chowder was OK, good but watery. I personally had the stuffed shrimp which was OK as well. The shrimp was tasty but the stuffing tasted plain and generic. Overall, the restaurant, staff and service was good, clean and friendly. Not sure if I'd go back though. read more

Came from NYC with my family & we had a dog (Maltese). Therefore we decided to do take out instead of sitting out because mosquitoes loves me & I wanted to be indoors. Anyways long story short it was a fantastic meal, i loved about everything except the oyster which seems to be small. Our total came to be $133. Definitely would come back if I do go cape cod again. Cape Cod National Seashore was the best part of the trip before this meal. I saw people bbq-ing on the sand and there were sharks late at night. This was the first restaurant we tried in Hyannis when we had our mini vacation back in June. We were there for a late lunch so it was not crowded. Our son liked the fish tanks- so that kept him entertained. The food was great. The hubs got the scallop roll and enjoyed it. I hate sea food, so I make him get what he can when we go out :) I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. They freshly make the bleu cheese dressing in house and it is yummy! It LOOKS watery, but it TASTES GREAT. Our servers were lovely, despite the fact I kept asking for more and more bleu cheese - I couldn't get enough of it. I know there are tons of choices on that lovely Main Street, but don't let Fresh Ketch become buried in a pile of choices (or turn your nose up because it's Ketch not Catch). I don't think you'll be disappointed. They have something for everyone here. It's simple food, but good food. The prices are fair. They also make a good Fuzzy Navel. :) This place is good for groups (it's a big place!), good for kids, and good for evening entertainment (I guess they do karaoke some nights and live entertainment on others??). First evening and first time at the historical Hyannis, Massachussetts-BAD FIRST IMPRESSION at this place. Let me start by saying that the place look nice overall, but once seated the experience changes totally. Hostesses at the entrance greet and seat didn't get our drinks order or offer us water-NOT GOOD specially in hot days. Waitress finnaly came to the table and ask us for our drink orders, I'm from out of state and not Caucasian so I decided to try the Cape Cod Beer from their drink menu -I didn't have my drivers license with me and the waitress decides to card me so I gave her my Consular ID that is the same as the passport, they refused to serve me drinks if I didn't show my passport, okay that's fine I didn't have it on me and then when they card my girlfriend her drivers licence was fine so the waitress decides to ask her for her debit card... WHAT?! for what? My girlfriend and I were very polite and had no problem showing the incompetent waitress our debit card and our IDs... I didn't know you had to show your ID and if you're out of state you should show your debit card too. RIDICULOUS, I HOPE THIS WAITRESS APPLIES THE SAME RULE TO EVERY CUSTOMER THAT ASKS FOR ALCOHOL. Okay... my girlfriend gets a wine and I get water that's fine, I didn't mind if anything I saved some money. I was hungry so finally after getting our drinks our waitress dissappears and after painful 10 min waiting to order our food some lady who wasn't wearing a uniform came to get our orders... -We ordered the salmon over rice with veggies and the half grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and zucchini... bad enough experience with the service the food was overcooked and lacked of seasoning we didn't feel like looking for our waitress tp complaint since she seemed more worried about the 10 top party that she was taking care of and had us waiting to get drink refills, napkins and one to-go container. Instead the same lady who asked for our food order came and did all that. Finnaly asked for the check which took a very long while too. Please get this place together, the dinning experience is awful and it feels like I'm at a zoo cafeteria not a restaurant, get better staff that knows about hungry tourists not about the staffs friends and/or regulars they serve every week. Accommodate everyone's needs. I also felt like the staff was profiling and that's not okay with me, because you don't judge by people's etnich background. Maybe it's because I'm a California guy lacking true East Coast seafood expertise, but I really liked this place. The outside doesn't look very impressive at all, but the inside is decorated very nicely. My friends and I went for early dinner and the place was almost completely empty. The server was very attentive (I'd hope so since we were some of the only people there), and the food tasted delicious. Being near Boston, my friends decided to try out the clam chowder boulle, which they said was pretty good, they had more to say about the bread than the soup itself though. Some of the dishes ordered were fish & chips, broiled seafood combo, and seafood platter (see pics). I had the seafood platter, and it was A LOT of food- fried clam strips, scallops, shrimp, calamari, and fish. I was surprised at the amount of food for such a reasonable price ($24ish). I didn't think I'd be able to finish it. Initially, I had two things going for me: I was deathly hungry, and my friend challenged me to eat everything, fries and all. Soon I picked up another reason to finish it all- it tasted delicious. Eventually I cleaned the whole plate, fries and all. All the other dishes got thumbs up as well. One meal here and I can understand both the good and bad reviews. What looks like a pretty nice restaurant from the street devolves into a dated, linoleum floored, sparse interior. This place has nothing going on from a décor standpoint. The Fired Calamari appetizer is happening however. Tell them to leave the dipping sauce in the kitchen and toss on some more peppers. The squid is lightly breaded and fried crispy. I did find one stringy tentacle but I challenge you to find better for $9. The Swordfish was excellently marinated and perfectly done. Flaky and moist, you'll be tempted to lick the griddle. A job well done. A two star interior with a 3.5 star food would give 2.75 stars. But we'll throw the other 0.25 if a star in to accentuate the calamari. That's a dish you won't regret. read more

Our party of 8 was seated as soon as we walked in. It was 6:15 on a Friday night. The place was busy but not packed. Our waiter Eddy was awesome!!!!!! He was very attentive and social. He called my husband boss. Lol. We all ordered our drinks which came out quickly and then our food. Potato skins, clam chowder, kids steak tips, adult steak tips, 1/2 roasted chickens and lobster ravioli. The food came fairly quick. The waiter informed us drinks were not free refills but there was a 50 cent charge. Which we were fine with. The food was as wonderful as the service!!! We would eat here again. We came across Fresh Ketch when looking for a reasonably priced seafood restaurant in the Hyannis area for a party of 6. We were attracted by the variety of fresh options on the menu, but our experience was only average, especially given our expectations for a Cape Cod seafood restaurant. Food: 3 stars. The food was hit-or-miss. The crab cake appitizer was very tasty and the fish and chips were a solid choice, but the lobster bisque was mediocre at best and the sea scallops were cooked too long and came out chewy. The scrod was unimpressive, but the lobster was decent. Ambiance: 2 stars. Despite some seafood themed accessories on the walls, the ambiance was only slightly greater than a Red Lobster. Service: 2 stars. It took 15 minutes after we were seated for our table to be initially noitced, and, even though the waitress was nice, the service was generally slow. I would come back here again for some of the more basic options (this is a decent place to grab a cup of chowder and fish & chips), but I'd look elsewhere for a dinnertime seafood experience. read more

If you're a pescatarian, this restaurant has plenty of options from which to choose. But for vegetarians, you're limited to the following on the menu: Two options under their Vegetarian section, a kid's grilled cheese and Mac&Cheese, pasta options that you could potentially order without meat, and appetizers (mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries, and fried pickles). Off the menu, there's a secret vegetarian sandwich that isn't mentioned anywhere but by word of mouth (zucchini with tomato and grilled onions, blue cheese, and balsamic glaze). But that's if you're not worried about cross contamination. Because everything is very likely fried together. The food is decent but no unique, memorable flavors. You'll find yourself wishing for more pronounced ingredients, or an after spot to make up for the lack of it. Lucky for you, and me, there is a nice Ice Cream & Candy parlour next door. I didn't get the nutrients and vitamins I needed, but at least I got what I wanted. The service here is solid, however. Two stars just for that. read more

I have to say, I agree with the 3-star overall rating for this restaurant. The ladies try to have good service, which I appreciate, but the food is just not that good. There is just no other way around it. I got the clam chowder, the lobster roll, and clams. The clams were chock-full of sand. I think I may have even chipped a tooth on one because there was so much sand. The lobster roll was pretty crap. I would honestly rather have the $8 lobster roll from McDonalds; at least they give a generous serving of lobster. The lobster roll here was just a big fat bun with a small slit in the middle with a tiny portion of lobster in it. The bun to lobster ratio was so skewed toward the bun that I could barely taste any lobster at all. That's why I usually steer away from lobster rolls in general, because people make the damn slit so small and then fill it up with lettuce and whatnot and then top it with just a couple slivers of lobster. That's what happened here. Final verdict - service was okay, they tried, but the food was just not good. read more

Worst dining experience ever! I am not only disgusted by their food but their service. It wasn't really crowded on the Friday night I came here with my friends. I noticed mostly tourists and locals in here. Out dated decor and lousy servers. My soda took over 15 minutes. The food is disgusting. I had steamers before and they are not filled with sand after shucking the membrane off and rising it in the water. It was 1lb for $20 and it was completely inedible. I explained to the waitress the situation politely and she said that's how they make the steamers here. If you want a mouth full of sand go for this dish. I also ordered the seafood platter which contained about 5 shrimps, one scallop, and no more than 5 small pieces of calamari on top of a few fries. $20- are you kidding me? Lobster bisque was disgusting. It didn't even taste like lobster. It tasted as though they only used butter and added orange food coloring in it. The lobster Alfredo was the worst. There was only a small claw which tasted very rubbery like it was from the can and the sauce was bland and taste like mayo. They also over cooked the pasta. Too soft. $20 for this is a joke. This place is a complete rip off. The waitress also forgot the bread rolls. Reminded her and she never brought it out. Such bad service. This place is horrible. I have no idea why they are still in business. They also include 18% gratuity which explains the horrible service here. No matter how bad the service is they still get a descent tip.
