Hadn't been to a Fresh Catch located in a while. To day we did a take out. Fish and Chips and Seared Furikaki Ahi. They used Cod for the as their fish in the fish and Chips. The plate lunch came with fries and mac/potato salad. Thumbs up for the cod. I don't care for the fries or the salad. Thumbs up for the Seared Ahi. Service was friendly and helpful. Enjoy

After we went to the lab to draw blood I was looking for a place to have lunch. I came across fresh catch on kapahulu. I saw furukaki seared ahi. And my husband said he'll try the fish and chips. I placed the ordered online so being a little early for the pick up I walked in. I also ordered salmon poke and their hawaiian blend poke. Came home and opened the plates. My seared furukaki ahi was good their wasabi mayo was good to accommodate the ahi. My husband fish and chips was plentiful. The fish he said was good the macaroni salad was ok and the fries he could pin point where he tasted it before. Sad that they didn't have the ahi poke salad. But that's fine. All in all was good. Support local.

came here after some long snorkeling and their poke really hit the spot! everything was super fresh and delicious and reasonably priced too! it is takeout only and parking is very limited but service was nice and super quick too. definitely worth a try!

Best poke. You can tell the fish is top-tier quality--everything tasted so fresh and buttery. They have an amazing variety of options, from classic Ahi to unique mix-ins and sauces. If you don't know what you want, you can ask to try it. We ended up getting Foodland poke the next day and was disappointed. They were about the same price but you can immediately taste the difference. Great spot. There's always parking. Friendly staff.

Outstanding top to bottom- I got addicted to this spot while I was on the island! Everything is super fresh obvs, and the ahi katsu is some sort of miracle. They have my eternal recommendation!!

Visit 09/2025 Fish so fresh they were probably sleeping in the ocean the night before they became poke lol. You can't leave Hawai'i without eating poke. Well you can but I'm pretty sure ithere is probably a level in Dante's Inferno for people like you. Fresh Catch is a must for poke enthusiasts or basically if you like seafood. Not the mainland poke craze where you run down a Subway style counter piling stuff like tangerine slices on top of a small serving of poke. Nope, bowls are poke and rice. Problem with that? See Dante's Inferno above. It's just take out here. Seriously, just a couple of benches while you wait for anything that might need time like a fried item. So service is strictly placing your order and paying. Thst being said, it is Hawai'i so service was full of welcoming aloha. Very patient as they do offer several takes and you are allowed to sample too! Choose whatever tickles your fancy. Ahi. Salmon. Octopus. Scallop. Spicy. Shoyu. Can't go wrong.

Fresh Catch is a poke shop started by Reno Henriques' and has locations in Kapahulu and Kaneohe. This location near Waikiki only has a few parking spots outside and no seating inside. They make over 20 varieties of poke daily and can be bought by the pound mostly in the range of $23-$29 per pound. We ordered the spicy salmon and the shoyu ahi. The spicy salmon was good but I particularly liked the shoyu ahi. Of all the poke places I've eaten at in Hawaii (and it's been a lot), Fresh Catch's shoyu ahi might be my favorite. We ended up having to take our food to a nearby park to eat but it would've tasted delicious no matter where we went. I look forward to the day when I can come back and enjoy more of their poke offerings.

If you're looking for super delicious, super fresh, made with a whole lotta ohana poke, this spot is the place to go! There's a very nice selection of many types of fresh poke, and many different ways to go about it. It's located in an area where break-ins are common, so be aware to not have any belongings in your car while you're inside. Also, it is take out only- no dine in tables or seating, and parking is 15 min only. Aside from that, the service is quick and attentive. You get what you're looking for in a no frills manner. Cash is preferred; cards are also accepted, but with an extra surcharge if used. Wanting to try something different and on recommendation from a friend, I got their smoked tako (octopus) by itself. Boy, was it a flavor adventure with every bite! Super fresh and super chewy like a jerky of sorts. The spicy mayo sauce it was in was superb as well. However, it was just a tad too salty than what I was expecting, and it definitely left me thirsty for a good amount of water after. Worth a visit if you're in the area or want to go out of your way for a side food adventure!

My coworker was having violent cravings for this place. I've never been, so he led the charge. There is a few stalls outside of the building and since it's takeout only... there was a ton of parking. When you walk in the store the ordering counter is to the right and drink coolers to the left. The case had a ton of poke options! Too many to choose from, especially for me... who is often indecisive. Lol! The regular menu is above the case and the specials are on the wall to the left. Again, LOTs of options! I decided on the crab stuffed ahi & my coworker ordered the lechon ahi. The plates were HEAVY!! I also ordered 1/4 poke and 1/4 lomi oio. The service was great and our order done quickly. The taste was good. The lechon was a little salty for me, but cooked to my liking. The crab stuffed ahi was good! Next time, I'll probably order the sauce on the side. I'm not really a big fan of a lot of sauce. I'm definitely planning on going back again to try their other plates.

I've been coming here while back, can't believe I don't have a review... Their plates are delish!! My go to is always the seared ahi with aioli. Think their popular plate is furikake salmon or furikake ahi. It's consistently yummy. The workers are always friendly. It's more of a grab and go. Parking is limited in front.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fish and chips here--they were wonderfully crispy and light, not at all oily or heavy. I tried the ahi and salmon; the salmon was definitely my favorite. I found most of the ahi tuna a bit too salty for my taste, though the fish itself was decently fresh. I also tried the Ahi Katsu for the first time. It was good, with a lightly crunchy exterior and a super tender interior that reminded me of pork, but it was a bit too heavy for me personally. You can all orders ahead!

Located on the corner of Kapahulu and Harding Ave, parking is limited but there's a lot of available spots. The interior is spacious but there's not seating. There's a few benches though and a high counter top. Service is quick. Ahi Katsu (4/5): so yummy. The sauce was delicious but a bit heavy. The fish was good. I wished it was a bit more crispy. Overall a very good plate lunch. Tap to pay is accepted. Fresh catch is a good place for all your poke and fish cravings.

With a couple of locations around Oahu such as right down from St. Louis Heights and Kaneohe, Fresh Catch has been a constant for many local people around the island. They have a variety of dishes from beef stew to fries to poke. We decided to go to the location in town across from City Mill. There is a small lot that can be a bit difficult to get in and out of, especially when crowded. The place itself is blue and a decent size. There is space to order at a counter with a display case of poke. There is also space for tables and benches, if you want to eat inside. The decorations include a lot of fish and blue. It felt pretty casual and clean. We got a few different types of poke. We got the ahi shoyu poke, spicy ahi, spicy ahi shoyu, and Hawaiian poke. Each poke tasted fresh. The flavor of the ahi shoyu and spicy ahi shoyu tasted a bit light. The spicy ahi was spicier than anticipated but it was a welcome surprise! The Hawaiian poke tasted especially fresh and flavorful. We have also purchased the smoked meat fried rice, which is one of my favorite fried rices ever! We will definitely be back for it and some more poke.

Parking was scarce, but we managed to find a spot nearby in the neighborhood. It was a Saturday around lunchtime, and we were able to be seated immediately. We didn't really know what we were doing with the menu, so our server ordered whatever she thought we would like. She did a great job. We got the Pipikaula short ribs, kalua pig, lomi lomi salmon, poi, mac salad, and fried butterfish collar.  Everything was so good! My favorite two items were the short ribs and the butterfish collar. The short ribs were so meaty with a nice firm texture and had a yummy sweet marinade. The fried butterfish collar was crispy and dripping with buttery goodness.  Trying poi for the first time was such an interesting experience as well. I had always wondered what it tasted like. I had always thought it was going to be like a sweet taro paste dessert, but it's actually more like a starch and serves the same role as rice! Its neutral flavor allows you to pair it with your proteins. It adds a bit of texture and helps you feel full. I was really grateful for finally getting to try it and loved learning something new! I had a great time at Helena's. The food was delicious, and I got to learn more about traditional Hawaiian cuisine. I totally recommend it. Great vibes.

We went with what's recommended for first timers - laulau pork, you eat the leaves everything and it's filling and delicious - short ribs, some might say it's overcooked but I think it's just a different way of cooking and eating it, the pieces were thick and high quality, comes with 4 - Loki salmon, it's cured and this reminds me of ceviche or pico de gallo and salmon, it was flavorful, juicy and refreshing - comes with onions and salt to add to the complexity of the flavors - we ate it with poi, which they use as the starch to replace the rice. It's made of taro, I say give it a try for that unique and authentic experience - coconut jelly was yummy They accept cash and card Limited parking in the front, come in right before 5:30 on a weekday to beat the crowd Small family business vibes The experience lives up to the hype!

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

This would hit very hard with alcohol but because I don't drink I need a kombucha. The grilled salmon belly would go perfect with it. Cheers! Uncle was very helpful and kind when serving and if you dine-in he brings it to your table.

There is a dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant that is shared with the other businesses in the same building. When I walked into the restaurant at about 1pm on a Wednesday, I was surprised to find it almost empty. It's a pretty large space, so the lack of patrons was rather glaring. There was one person sitting at the counter facing the kitchen and one employee working. This was my very first visit to Guava Smoked so I asked the person at the counter what he recommends. He said the two most popular meats are the kalbi and the spicy pork. "Perfect!" I thought, because those were the two options I was eyeing. Unfortunately, they were out of kalbi that day. Bummer... Nothing else on the menu caught my eye, so I ordered a smoked spicy pork plate to go. The spicy pork was good. Did it blow my mind? I wouldn't say it did. But it was satisfying enough. Honestly, I really wish they had kalbi available when I went. Hopefully next time I stop in they will.

The owner was very friendly and took the time to recommend dishes for us, including the laulau and lechon kawali. We also ordered the BBQ short ribs. Overall, it was a good experience trying Hawaiian food, but it's just not really our type of cuisine. The laulau was quite dry, and the preparation felt more like meat that had been boiled or cooked in liquid, which isn't something I usually enjoy. The lechon kawali had a crispy pork belly texture, topped with something similar to a salsa, but it didn't suit our taste either. Unfortunately, the cabbage served with it also had some black spots, which was off-putting. The BBQ short ribs were the highlight of the meal and the dish we enjoyed the most. We appreciate the experience and the hospitality, but the flavors just didn't quite match our personal preferences.

Then someone wanted to change from rice to poi. I tried many times and no one answered. Their voice mailbox was full. We e ended going there to make the change. He gentleman looked like he was working be himself. We bads to wait almost a half hour for him to finish the order. 2. Price - the prices were higher than expected. All the plates were $26.00 and up. 3. Food - The poi was very tasty and fresh, although a bit watery. The lau lau had a lot of lean pork filling, not a lot of leaves. The long rice didn't have much chicken and was a bit watery too. We enjoyed the sweet potato. There was also lomi salmon, haupia onion and chili pepper water. 4. As mentioned before there isn't much parking. The restaurant wasn't busy when we got there. Overall the food and service was OK. The price was a bit high.

During a visit here with my friends who was visiting from out of town, they both enjoyed their entree with a beer, love the atmosphere- we got to chat and ended up staying until restaurant's closing time. The waitress that day was super friendly, full of Aloha! I love the local foods, everything I tried was very tasty, When dining in I usually go with the 2 item plates, picking all different items ( Lau, Kalua Pork, pork belly, chicekn long rice and sharing family style with extra rice. The food was broke da mouth! During one of my dining visits, I was on my no carb lifesytle and got the Island cobb salad with Kalua Pork ( available in 2 sizes $9./$17.) Lettuce, cucumber, corn, tomato, avocado with Kalua Pig, and sweet onion dressing. Wow, I am glad they have this option for salads. I hope they don't discontinue the Cobb salad as it was so good! During this recent stop I picked up the Pork Belly and Pipikaula plate in short ribs style. This was such a great choice as my family enoyed it . Beer and Pork Belly for pupus and pipikaua ribs for dinner. They have daily specials (beef stew, beef tomato, chicken hekka, sweet sour spare ribs, beef stew, grilled fish, shoyu chicken, garlic shrimp) which sounds good too. You can pick plates in mini or regular, two or three item combo, but few dollars more for crispy pork, smoked meat Pipikaula. Please check out Oahu Grill in the Kaimuki area, opens daily from 11-9 pm.

Also the service was very slow only 1 worker but we were the only customer in there . I recommend this Hawaiian food place over others but maybe ill stop from know on .
