My experience here caused me to never go to a traditional barbershop again. The barber embarrassed…read moreme so bad that I dread needing a haircut and not knowing where to go. All I did was bring in a picture of a hairstyle I liked, and he just told me in a dismissive tone "your hair could never look like that". I wish I had walked out right then and there, but I instead said "just a trim then, I guess". I regret giving this business one dime and the fear I have of being embarrassed like this again has kept me locked in the same hairstyle that I hate.

I did a lot of research looking for a barbershop that could hook up my son ahead of the weekend…read more This shop had great pictures and really sold me on the idea of a place that tries their best to make the client feel and look great. To my surprise, when he got home I saw this atrocious haircut the hard part is uneven and way too wide and it looks like the "barber" made a mistake drove his blades into the side of my sons head leaving a slight patch. The fade is very amateur, lines all over the place not blended in, and to find out the haircut was 55$, wow. Good for you guys charging such premium prices for subpar haircuts. The photos on Yelp really sold us on going there but the result did not reflect. Granted he was a walk in, but shouldn't walk ins get the same treatments as regulars? Never going back. Don't be fooled by the photos.

Fantastic Experience at Proper Barber Shop!…read more My almost-three-year-old son, Wolfe, has already experienced the fancy, high-end salon treatment, so this past weekend I figured it was time to introduce him to a good old-fashioned barbershop. What a great decision that turned out to be! Daphne gave Wolfe a fantastic haircut, but little did I know he'd be leaving with more than just a fresh cut. I think he may have found his first crush! He couldn't stop telling me what a great job Daphne did and telling me how she had purple hair because, as luck would have it, purple happens to be his favorite color! What really impressed me, though, was how genuinely friendly and welcoming everyone was. Even the barber working next to Daphne went out of his way to make Wolfe feel comfortable, and on our way out, made sure to send him off with a couple of high fives and fist bumps. It's those little gestures that make a big difference, especially when you're bringing in a young child. The entire shop was also exceptionally clean, well-kept, and had a great atmosphere. Between the excellent haircut, the wonderful staff, and Wolfe's newfound admiration for Daphne, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll absolutely be back! **Highly recommend Proper Barber Shop, and especially Daphne!**

I personally have Alex cut my hair because I've specifically gone to him when all three of them were at their previous employer (Side note: It takes a lot of guts, faith, and confidence in your work to open your own shop, so kudos to these guys.). Alex has always treated me well and consistently does a great job with my hair. He (Wayne and Alan, too) always makes his clients feel welcome. When you get your haircut there, it's like you're hanging out with a bunch of friends. Everyone's always talking, whether it be sports, family, friends, movies, anything! Before you know it, your hair is done and you're on your way to wherever you're going next. Yes, it is a bit pricey for haircuts, but I guarantee I it's totally worth it. I would never receive compliments when I used to get my haircut somewhere else, but since Alex started cutting my hair, it's compliment-city! Seriously! Don't forget to tip!
