There is a large indoor area with all sorts of gardening equipment, plants and seeds. There is everything from bird feeders to garden gnomes. St Bridgets also sell koi and other pond fish. Outside there are more plants, ornaments and accesssories. A very big bonus especially for children is the large koi pond area which is fenced off and children must be supervised but it does have a large viewing platform where children can get to appreciate these wonderful fish. There is also an area which is specifically for gravel and stones, pots and containers and pre made garden ponds. St Bridgets stock most varieties of fish food. I have found their staff always very helpful, with various 'experts' in different fields. There is also a lovely cafe on site.

Inside there is a big choice of plants, gifts (especially at Christmas) and they have café which has seating in and outside. A few times we have been to the café and had a roast dinner which was lovely. At Christmas time the garden centre normally sells lots of decorations and has a Santa's grotto. The garden centre always looks really well looked after I'm not really into flowers but I still enjoy looking around there and my daughters do as well.

The duchy nursery has recently done up their shop and cafe which look over the nursery and the valley below. The cafe offers a selection of sandwiches, hot meals and cakes. The cream tea was delicious with plenty of jam and clotted cream ratio to the scone and lots of tea. The cafe also provides excel by coffee and cake. The duchy is definitely my current favourite place for a cream tea when returning home and is in a lovely location. A final quick tip for any visitors, the duchy is up a cornish lane, once you've gone past the golf club, keep going and you'll find it.

A…read morevery peaceful and interesting garden of birch and alder, started in 1971 by a landscape designer and started hunting and wild harvesting rare birch seeds and planting them. It is and enchanting garden with ponds, sculpture, and a variety of trees and plants. Beautiful. A lovely 45 minute stop along our long drive.

Mark and Linda, the owners, along with their team are always happy to share their knowledge and experience. Many of the local horticultural associations come for talks from Mark in the evenings. Every spring it plays host to the West Country Herb Festival, featuring Foods, Massage, talks, bee keeping and many more things.
