Kat & Matt & Kimmie(& sometimes…read moreJohanna) DO have a German Chocolate Cheesecake SHAKE...& it's the second best thing I've put in my mouth... the malt turned it into something transcendent. I'm not saying I'm now enlightened but ONLY because, y'know,...that'd only prove I'm not and really just...undersell the whole experience. If you want a simple shaved ice...they can absolutely do that. If you'd like a bit of an experiment, like lavender syrup handmade with locally grown food-grade lavender...THAT is why this treat truck exists!!! Sunny & 75 WON "Most Unique" creation at the Lu-Ray Arts Festival and it WAS NOT for the German Chocolate Cheesecake Malt; see...Matt is the creative culinary genius behind the lavender simple syrup (& other innovative ideas including sublime blends) and Matt did something mind-blowingly good: The Lavender Lu-Ray. It is ART, y'all! Because I do love you (I don't need to know you to love you; dignity is yours!)...but because I do love you without equivocation...I will tell you what all is in it: Peach , mango , AND lavender (?!) fluffy shaved ice...with drizzled sweet cream...over a vanilla ice cream core with a on top! Folks...seriously...find them and love them and treat yourself right. You are worthy, sunshine!

They had a couple people ordering stuff, so it gave us time to look at the menu. My kid went with what was recommended and I didn't want anything tart or sour so the watermelon crawl was recommended for me. Super nice and informative staff. Made our drinks and paid and went on our way. The watermelon crawl was kinda sweet a hint of tart but you need to mix the powder well. We loved the cucumber taste at the end. My kid love the unicorn it was exact what wanted and both were refreshing. I didn't feel overly caffeinated and didn't have the crazy hype feel like when drinking energy drinks so that was a plus. For trying something new it was a great experience.

The owner, staff and other patrons are a pleasure to go spend time with as this store seems to be more of a community gathering center for the locals over a general store at times. The restaurant is small and serves good sized portions of hot freshly cooked foods as well as foods to go items and Hunt Brothers pizza (not good) The only downside to this small store is the lack of attention towards the expiration dates on the dry goods on the store shelves as well as the dairy products. I have personally found cream cheese packages 6 months out of date and brown sugar and cake mix boxes at 4 months out. I will continue to patronize this small country store as it's still better than driving 18 miles to Elizabethtown I also hope this review will filter to others who will also look at the labels and bring this to the attention to the owner.

My friend tried to order turkey and provolone and the lady responded, "Provolone? We don't gots no fancy cheese. This is America. We gots American cheese." Now if that's not disgustingly hillbilly-ish, I don't know what is. It's silly too, because they have pre-sliced packaged provolone cheese in the dairy case. They charge you for your sandwich based on the weight of the meat so it'll be different every time. Also, my other friend asked how much each deli meat was per pound and the lady responded, "I don't know," in a really nasty way, as if that was the stupidest question a person could ask. Classy, right? The prices of everything else (chips, pickles, candy) is decent. You can also fill up on gas here and get cigars, cigarettes, and the like. It's convenient, but I think I'm just a bit too snobby for this place.

As the crow flies, you're not that far from Louisville, but barring another bridge boondoggle, that might as well be the other side of the earth. And Corydon is a good drive away. Which presumably makes this little do-it-all shop viable for the locals. My "deli lunch" was a mound of salty ham with a touch of swiss, and the self-serve soft-serve choices include chocolate, vanilla, and swirl. The grocery aisles include local packaged meats and even some greenery. The fuel pumps are antiques, and because multiple people used them to fill gas cans as I sat and ate at the picnic table, my lunch came with a corresponding olfactory bonus - no extra charge. We were too uppity to use the port-o-potty, but otherwise we delighted in this little oasis -- perhaps not a dream grocery store, but it's a considerable upgrade from your standard gas station convenience.
