Overwelmingly beautiful experience, every time!
I must say I…read morelive here since a couple of years but every time I come the Gardens are totally different. I love it.
To visit these Gardens you need at least half a day. You must also be prepared to walk up a few steep steps to reach every corner but you will be rewarded; there are two viewing platforms that offer a breath taking view over the Gardens, the valley and the mountains.
The variety of landscapes is wide. I saw cactuses and asian rice terraces next to a Japanese Garden. A forest with ferns and ginko's followed by a bamboo forest. On the sunny side I loved the olive grove (there is a 700 year old olive treeand the water lily pond with the lotus flowers and the Japanese Koi carp fish (some are huge!). Pretty amazing for me also the palm trees with the 10.000 feet high snowcapped mountains in the background.
In the summer the place hosts a series of World Music concerts around the water pond; that is a quite spectacular experience. If you get the chance...
Highly recommended!
