Even though I told him I didn't want a 2" step I ended up with one and he wouldn't correct it! He knew he screwed up but didn't care - grabbed his money and couldn't get away fast enough! Simple math tells you that if you raise something up 2" at the top you're going to have an extra 2" at the bottom!!! Terrible guy to work with and even worse that he wouldn't guarantee his work! We received bids from several different concrete companies to repair/repour a significant part of…read moreours and our neighbors driveways. We contacted numerous companies and found that a) most never even returned the call, b) those that did said they would give an estimate - only a couple actually showed up to do so, c) we told two different companies we wanted them to do the work - and then never heard from them again. And, again, they did not return messages left for them asking when they would start. With Dan Mead, I left a message, he called back in 30 minutes, did the estimate one hour later and by 7:30 that same evening sent us a bid. 4 days later they removed the old concrete and poured the new the next day. Boom - that's how it is done. They cleaned up every day they were here, communicated clearly about what/when/how they would be doing things and made it painless for us. His was not the lowest of the three bids we got but what does that matter if you cannot even get the crew to show up ! Very happy with the results and would recommend him. He also did 3 other driveways in our neighborhood (where I got the referral) and over 2 years later their driveways still look brand new.
