We headed over to Rec Park just to relax and see the carousel, which was unfortunately closed. We just walked around and enjoyed the beautiful setting. Plenty of open space and with a beautiful pool, ball fields and tennis courts with multiple paths to walk around. I especially like the huge playground with not just one but two areas for the kids to play and climb and wow... they were all out enjoying the the pay structures and using the slides. This is just a lovely enclave in the middle of a city to find some nice resting and strolling areas. I hope to come here one day and be able to take advantage of the free carousel. KUDOs to the city and those who maintain the wonderful Rec Park.

Be prepared for animals in your car ! We were visiting from MD and after the park, we decided to do…read morethe drive thru Perserve, mainly because Taj the giraffe (Aprils son) was there and he was one of the main reasons we even came. We got discounted tickets because we went to the park first. We drove up to the entrance and the staff were super friendly and explained all the rules and sold us buckets of feed. Although we were warned about the animals and what they would do, we were not fully prepared for the greediness of every animal! It was fun don't get me wrong but it got to be a little overwhelming . They will run up to your car, stuck their head in if your windows are down and gobble anything they can reach. Two hands on the bucket at all times. Some cattle even trotted next to the car once we were trying to move on. There are some pull off areas that you can stop for longer and cars behind you can pass if they want which was nice. The only time I felt uneasy was when a bison (was protecting her baby) and almost body slammed a llama or alpaca into the side of our car. You're clearly made aware that it is at your own risk, but it still shook me a little. A slight annoyance was the Car in front of has had little kids (like 5 years old) hanging out of the sunroof and windows, feeding the animals food they clearly brought from home and the employees didn't say anything. We felt that was really unsafe for the kids and the animals and someone should have said something . The best part was at the end are the giraffes (Taj!) and you can park and get out of your car to go see them and feed them. Linda at the giraffe stand was incredible and got them to come over to see us after maybe about 5-10 minutes of them ignoring us lol. All in all, We really did enjoy the drive and the animals and would definitely do it again.

No autism allowed. Also if the staff dont like a book or anything you bring because it isn't godly enough or has any other religion or culture in it they will take it and destroy it. Full disclosure- i work at Path of life camp, this is in response to negative reviews to provide…read moresome insight and context to the complaints- First, we have literally thousands of people through our barn every year, we have nothing to hide and no way to hide it if we did. Unlike many stables that would just send senior horses and hard keepers to the meat auction, we keep our horses through the end of their retirement and natural lives. The gray "powder" mentioned was over 30 years old when the video was posted, and hes still alive and well- we had his teeth regularly inspected, but at that age, they are no longer growing to be floated, instead just being lost as they age- therefore he doesnt eat a lot of hay, but is on a senior ration and supplements. Because of his age and weight, of course he wasnt being worked, just free range exercise, thats a big part of the reason why his topline was in such poor condition. Nobody has to take my word for it, we're an open facility for anybody to come through and see our largely overweight herd for themselves. As for the comments on the facilities and security of our summer camp, its important to keep in mind that this was a teen camp, yes, parents are allowed on campus during the week, but campers are supervised such that while they can be easily found, they cant be just snatched from their group. Within seconds of their arrival, they were greeted by a director and guided to their childrens location. For the facilities, theres no question that there were areas greatly in need of updating, including the bathrooms which were in an incomplete remodel- parts had been done but the shower floors had not yet been resurfaced. This work has since been done. The beds in the dorms have also since been replaced. Even at the time, the mattresses were sanitized every week and intended to be covered in camper-supplied sheets, as indicated in the packing list. In regard to being "packed like sardines" this is flatly untrue, the local health department had required empty bunks and 6 feet of spacing between as a covid precaution, about 60% of the bunks were totally empty. Again, dont just take my word for it- while we're hardly the ritz, the camp is aggressively fundraising and working hard to rescue the facilities from decades of dereliction, and welcome visitors to judge the progress and current conditions for themselves.

Kim is a great teacher who praises when praise is warranted and firm when it comes to safety issues and paying attention. I loved that. This isn't your average "pony ride.' My grandkids groomed, sprayed and saddled the horses (with lots of help from Kim, her daughter, and other experienced riders). They learned some riding basics and after the grooming/saddling/instruction, were able to ride by themselves in a large fenced in area. I highly recommend this stable if you happen to be in the area. Call to make an appointment. The rates are very reasonable and Kim gave me a discount for 3 riders.

This golf course is super beautiful, a great spot to watch a PGA tournament or enjoy a concert,…read morewhich are two things I had the opportunity to do this past weekend. The grounds were immaculate, the staff did one heck of a job making the greenery look beautiful for this tournament. There were clear paths for people to walk around the course with ample seating and plenty of stops to grab beers and drinks while watching the tournament. There were several volunteers around the course assisting people to their seats and while the majority of them had absolutely no idea where to direct us, they were all nice and happy and you couldn't even be mad they had no idea where to send you. The parking here isn't great, not sure it even exists so we had to park away from the course and walk but it ended up being fine. Again, only came here for an event so I'm sure the set up and flow is entirely different when there isn't a big tournament going on but it was a very enjoyable weekend here and hats off to all the volunteers and staff who turned this course over from concert to tournament.
