We've had issues with our upstairs AC system for a few years. Every Spring (for the past 4-5 years)…read morewe needed a freon recharge, which would last until the next Spring. During our recent February heat wave, the system failed again. Matt (owner) and Matt came out to evaluate and repair it. But the 18 year old system was at the point of repair it now and maybe again in the next year or so, or replace it. I decided to go with a full system replacement (AC & furnace). The American Standard system we had worked great (for 18 years) so we replaced it with the newest version. The crew arrived on the appointed date and time and went right to work. I was impressed that they placed drop cloths on the stairs and on the hallway to the attic ladder. They went right to work and 5 hours later Matt was giving me a walk thru to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. It is. We've had a few cold and hot days recently so I was able to test the furnace and AC system. Everything works like it should. We were also told that there was a critical leak in the evaporator coil and that it would need to be replaced ASAP by the previous company. After looking on NextDoor for recommendations, I saw Bay Area AC Heating & Plumbing and saw great reviews online for them so we decided to try them out. This was by far the best outcome we could have asked for. They told us a tech would be out between 12-4 and Jose came about 2. He quickly diagnosed our situation, which was far less drastic than the last company had told us. We were ready to spend thousands in repairs from what was previously explained to us, but Bay Area's fee to come out on a Sunday was about $80+ and he said he wasn't able to unclog the drainage pipes (the REAL issue that was missed before) so he went and got the parts quickly and rerouted our drainage pipes so that it wouldn't be an issue going forward. Overall, we only ended up paying $439 for his trip out, parts, and labor. He was EXTREMELY professional and we had an amazing experience with them! Thank you SO MUCH to Bay Area AC Heating & Plumbing and to Jose Herrera for getting this fixed so promptly and affordably! If I could give 10 stars I would! We will HIGHLY recommend them to anyone going forward and you will continue to get business from us going forward!

I called, the guy answered, I told him the problem, he said turn the switch off, leave it off, and he'd head on over as soon as he could get away. I found out later, he left dinner with his wife to come out and get things going. He showed earlier than he'd said, got right on it, found the problem, had the parts in his van, and half an hour later, the a/c was running cold. I asked him what I owed, he told me and I was taken aback. I felt lucky even to have gotten hold of someone on a late Saturday. I was really hopeful when the guy actually showed, and early at that. When he had the air conditioner going cold in almost no time, I really couldn't believe my good fortune. I 'd already called to make reservations in a hotel in Galveston for the weekend, thinking it would be Monday before anyone would get out to look. But to have a guy do all that and for no more than he'd asked, well, that just doesn't happen often.
