I'll be honest, it is hard for me to give a poor review for a pizza joint. Not sure if I have ever come across a pizza that I didn't enjoy and that streak won't end here. The ambience of the restaurant was nice, service was pleasant and the pizza was very good. read more

Pulled into the parking lot of a family owned restaurant. Very clean, nice atmosphere. Pierce was my waiter. He was excellent. Great conversation skills and very attentive. They serve Pepsi products. The pizza gave me a frozen pizza vibe, not bad, but nothing stood out. The crust was a little lacking in flavor. Cheese and Toppings were good. The music was gospel....Over all not a bad experience. Thank you. read more

So i had woken up with a flat tire ... the Fred's Pizza manager Jenny sent me home for arriving on the dot ON TIME and said i was LATE, what a hypocrite statement telling me to arrive at 10am and i mentioned i woke up to a flat because i didn't arrive late not by a MINUTE! so she said it wasn't going to work out. No Mercy, maybe i should have food inspectors stop by sometime. I know there is roaches in most restaurants because i worked in one. when it was literally an emergency, i don't recommend even trying out for a job here, complete waste of time. Good Luck lol. Fred's Pizza Express - Pizza Near Me - Portsmouth, Ohio

Very good clean food good ingredients used in preparation very delightful dinning room inside of the restaurant also very prompt service

Ordered a pizza, onion rings and a salad for pickup. My grandson picked up the order. When he returned there was no salad or onion rings. I called the restaurant to voice my concerns. Not only did was our order missing the salad and onion rings but the pizza wasn't sliced. I asked the new owner when they had stopped slicing the pizza and he explained that they had not stopped. The owner stated that he would personally redo our order. I told him that we would not return that night and he promised to place our name in his brown book We had friends in town a few weeks later and we decided to have our order replaced. Employees could not find our name in the owner's brown book. He had other restaurants and was unreachable. The employee then ordered a 20% discount on the order. Of course, I said no thanks. I have not ordered or been to Fred's since and my intention is to never to do so. It was definite that the ownership had changed. Very disappointed as we had often driven from Franklin County to Fred's. read more

We ordered two spaghetti's, chicken nugget meal and a personal pizza meal. The pizza came to the table burnt all around the edges and they remade it and did a good job. The two spaghetti's came to the table and the sauce; was like, they had just taken it out of the refrigerator & put in on top of the spaghetti noodles, it was so cold and they must've went and put it in the microwave.., the plates, were so hot, you couldn't touch them. My next statement will show how rude the employees are there at Fred's Express. My granddaughter showed her the chicken nuggets; to the server, they were so extremely hard and so crispy & the fries, were full of grease. My granddaughter couldn't even eat; the chicken nugget meal and she looked at her and told her that there was nothing at all they could do with them, that, that is the way that they make them & she refused to even try & have the chicken nuggets made to where they were edible, so they got thrown away. This is the worst service & food; I've ever encountered at Fred's Express in Portsmouth, Ohio... read more

I really love their steak sandwiches .Fries and onion rings are great, too! But my favorite is the steak sandwiches. The waitresses are great , too, esp Jennifer! read more

Love the sauce on the pizza and the meat sauce used for the spaghetti. The onion rings were to die for, worth the visit just for these. The fried zucchini were very tasty as well. Not a fan of the pastry style crust but clearly someone likes it given the years in business. I also like the topping on my pizza to be more cooked and these were crunchy. It was odd that all of our meals were brought out 5-10 minutes apart. One of us didn't get our meal ordered but it also wasn't accounted for on our bill so no loss. We would likely return and have more of what we enjoyed rather than the pizza. read more

Not too many pizzas being made during the holidays, but this one was and it was very good. Ordered it and picked it up within 15 minutes. Nice restaurant w/great ambience, although I took it to go, it was great to see a nice clean dining room. read more

Great food, love those pizza breads! They accommodated our large group and did a Great job!

This is an area favorite with fantastic menu options and great pizza. The crust flavor alone is great and the food is always well prepared with good quality. Although service has never been an issue for me, it does vary by location. Try the 31" pizza for your next celebration! read more

I had a BLT pizza and it was delicious! Also, if you need a pizza for a gathering, Fred's makes one of the largest pizzas I have ever seen!

The visit today with 6 family members was the worst experience ever. Waited 45 minutes for a crispy chicken salad to be brought to the table after everyone else had eaten. Then when we complained the manager decided to come to the table with a bad attitude blaming us for complaining cause the kitchen was "slammed with only 3 ppl back there!" Will not be returning. read more

Our deep dish pizza is cooked to perfection, as always. It is a golden crispy brown, cheese just right, and all the toppings we requested were mouth watery glistening in the light. The wings were amazing, and even the side salad had a crucial role in the game. Kudos, Fred's, kudos. read more

Over all the experience was okay. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Texas tenderloin sandwich. It was very good. The server was pleasant and efficient. We will have to try the pizza sometime. read more

Pizza was better this time. However, we ordered the antipasto salad, which is like a PIZZA IN SALAD FORM. Yes, it was good. Pepperoni, Sausage, Cheese, Tomatoes, Peppesr...... everything you get on a pizza, but mixed into a delicious salad. Yep +1 for that baby. Uh, and did I mention their amazing salad dressing? read more

Fred's is a must for pizza. It completely trumps the local and national chains. Having grown up on the East Coast pizza is very much a local pride. Finding quality hand tossed, hand made pizza in Ohio is often an act of frustration and dissapoint, Fred's is by far some of the best pizza I've had in nearly 13 years. read more

Doesn't get any better. Had the antipasta salad. Lot of food and delicious. Highly recommend.

My family has been a customer of Fred's Pizza Express for years. Their food is delicious, customer service is excellent and delivery service efficient. I would highly recommend this business for either carry out or delivery orders. Awesome people. read more

Home run sub is out of this world. Tasty options. Always hot and ready. A++++++++++++++++++++

Pizza was decent, but don't order the burgers. My double cheeseburger had a burnt (and I mean BURNT) piece of cheese on top and tasted horrific. I know it wasn't just mine because my aunt wasn't pleased with hers either. Staff was great.. Very friendly and attentive. read more

Decent pizza, could be good/great if they used fresh ingredients (no canned mushrooms please!). Service was great.

I've been going to Fred's for years and usually don't have any issues, but have ran into a few recently. I ordered a $40 26" pizza and it came with an overwhelming amount of sauce. Well I had hungry guests so we dung into it anyway but when I called, they argued with me about it and all they were willing to do was give me a few dollar discount on the next pizza and told me I should have asked for light sauce. Any pizza should automatically have light sauce so that made no sense. That's not exceptional since I payed that much and wasn't satisfied. They definitely aren't reasonable when it come to mistakes in their cooking. I definitely won't be ordering from there again. read more

A fun place to have lunch or take the family. Great sandwiches and the pan pizza is a traditional local favorite. A must stop if you're in town. read more

I must concur with another yelper. Fred's has the BEST antipasta salad around..so big with loads of toppings. I can barely eat it in one sitting. The best salad dressing EVER-"Fred's Red". Can't get enough of it. read more
