My colleague and I had two G&T cocktails each (oh he had a third in the end) and as he knew more bout drink than me, knew they must be doubles n asked the waitress why are they so strong as he was smashed after one! She explained it was the elderflower liquor which was 20% alcohol and showed him the bottle!! Lol We had starter so I chose the cheese fondue which he remembered I didn't like last time but I tried it again, it was fine. The dipping bread was very hot and tasty. Mains, I had the skinny pizza which was nice though I think I prefer Pizza express one! Waitress was really nice and did a great job! The place is nice and we had a lovely evening there. They also took my Tastecard number and gave us 2 for 1 on each course so it was a bargain! Though I admit I can claim this meal on expenses but the discount kept us in our budget!!!

PRO TIP: If you're dining in, be sure to use the Pizza Express app, depending on your tier in their loyalty scheme, you can get a bunch of free items with your meal. As a gold member, I can receive rewards such as Bottled Water, a soft drink, a hot drink and dolcetti, dough balls and a Romana pizza upgrade, at no additional charge. It can be a little pricey here, but when combined with these offers, or other offers, such as Tesco Clubcard, it becomes much more affordable, especially as you can combine it with a Pizza Express gift card, which is often sold at 20% off at retailers such as Amazon and Tesco. Sadly, I was unable to use these offers on this occasion, due to ordering on Uber Eats. After placing my order, I made a call to the restaurant and informed them I was staying in a hotel, and asked if they could make sure my pizza was sliced, and they confirmed that although they don't slice gluten-free pizzas for guests that are dining in, they always do it for delivery. Considering my hotel was under a quarter mile away, I expected my food to be piping hot, but it wasn't, I have no idea how it can go cold in a distance that Google Maps lists as one minute to walk or four minutes to drive, but the food arrived in good and undamaged condition. I ordered a gluten-free Smoky-BBQ Chicken Pizza, which is part of their exclusive range for delivery customers, combined with a 25% off Uber Eats voucher, and my Uber One, everything came to £13.45, which I found reasonable as it would normally cost around £14 - £14.50 when dining inside and combined with my Gold Rewards. I did enjoy the flavours of my pizza, and it did taste pretty good, despite not being fully hot, I also appreciated how they appeared to give me an extra dough ball (6 instead of 5) with a generous helping of garlic butter. I would have appreciated them putting some plastic cutlery in the bag, as they'd cut the pizza properly, I had to try my best to tear it apart, which wasn't great. I would probably return here, a lot of positives for sure, but their delivery service needs some work. 3*

After having some pretty dreadful experiences eating out in Sheffield city centre with one-star "avoid at all costs" experiences with Nando's and Gourmet Burger Kitchen to name just two - this place is probably one of the better places in terms of food quality in Sheffield based on multiple recent visits to the South Yorkshire city. Inside, it is pretty large and modern - it does feel like pretty much a chain Italian which it is, I like the bold decor with Italian proverbs which really helps to bring out the wall. They also have an open kitchen which I do like, I was able to watch my "sever" cook my food - you could tell the passion for cooking: watching him taste it for seasoning etc (and using his gold iPhone...) The service was pretty poor but that wasn't down to the staff not being friendly - it was down to them being really understaffed meaning from ordering to getting food and paying it took much longer to do anything - my server seemed really friendly considering he was rushed, he was serving tables and then in the kitchen, and having to answer phone calls - for me it's unacceptable that there was only one chef + one server who was working in a kitchen for the backlog, with a good 5-6 tables full. I did notice a few staff members who were on a good break for 30 minutes+ who didn't offer to help customers or do anything as it got busy - I appreciate if they're on their break but why was there more staff on break than working. The whole lack of staff really did make me think about walking out on multiple occasions with my food taking longer to arrive, as well as a delay in getting some water as the only waiter was serving other tables. I wasn't offered a lemonade sample which I always receive at an Ask branch, also down to it being understaffed (not really busy, but busy for the low staffing levels.) When my food did arrive, it tasted quite good, I ordered the pea and prosciutto risotto which came to £13.50 - a little pricey but ASK do have various offers with Meerkat Meals (buy any insurance package even one-day travel insurance in the UK for £1.01 and get a years free) or Tastecard which gives you two-for-one, they also offer a student discount which varies from 25 to 40% so there's never a need to pay full price. The risotto was much better than I had at a previous branch, it was seasoned perfectly and it didn't need any added pepper/seasoning, with a little fresh parmesan cheese sprinkled on top it was much better - it wouldn't have been my first choice of flavour combination for a risotto but they still managed to bring it out very well, the prosciutto was mostly crispy with a smoky taste but it was slightly chewy at times. Good quality food at competitive prices considering a large number of offers using third party memberships which are as low as £1 or the restaurant's own website/student discount, yet let down by staffing levels and speed of service - solid three-star rating.

The food is generally up to the usual standard, and they have some good deals on so the price is always reasonable. But this branch is let down by the fact that there is often such a long wait for the food to arrive. This branch does get busy, but it's a city centre restaurant so that's to be expected. They just don't seem to have enough staff on to cater for the numbers they get through the door. The busy nature of this restaurant also means that it will be noisy, so not ideal if you fancy a chilled-out bite to eat with a friend. Inevitably there will be a children's birthday party taking place, with the lights being dimmed at some point while the cake is brought out and the assembled throng sing Happy Birthday dear Tayla-Jade or whatever. You would do well to go later in the evening if you want to avoid this. Overall, reasonable prices and good city centre location let down by too few staff.

However, I was more sold on the double G&Ts for £4, it's definitely worth coming to C&D just for that. Anyway, onto the food. We ordered half a antipasti sharing board as a starter, which including a rather large wedge of brie (which we thought was an interesting choice of cheese). Beer battered courgette fries and and a beef jerky pizza. The pizza base was good, if a little small but the topping was a bit too salty. The customer service was great, we had some issues with our drinks but they were quickly resolved. We paid £50 for a sharing board, pizza, side, 2 half pints of beers and 4 double g&ts - definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, the drinks selection and food beats the main pizza chains hands down and is great value for money.

The pizza was brilliant, I loved the addition of the frazzles. Something that shouldn't be on a pizza but worked brilliantly! Customer service was also top notch. The guys couldn't apologise enough for the food taking a while (although it was only to be expected with the place being so small and the size of some of the groups). It wasn't that long anyway. I had booked us in 5 weeks ago for 6pm and trust us to get lost! For anyone who knows Sheffield the road system is a nightmare! We did phone ahead and said we'd be 20 ish mins late and they were ok with it. We arrived and managed to get parked right outside on the street which is always a massive bonus. The place is pretty nondescript from the outside and it's a bit confusing over how you get in. Nonetheless we entered down a few stairs straight into the bar area, there were a few people in the bar but it wasn't busy as such. We were seated swiftly away from the bar area in a fairly rustic corner. The decor is a mix of modern yet shabby chic I'd say. Boards around show the offers available and the furniture is basic chairs with unpolished wood tables. We were presented with 3 menus, early bird, a la carte and seasonal- very confusing I must say! Our drinks order were taken while I'd escaped to the loo which was a trek in itself! Up a load of stairs so don't wait until you're desperate! The toilets weren't fantastic either- toilet roll all over the floor in one of the cubicles and quite sterile and faceless. I returned to the table and tried to choose what to have. I quite liked to look of the seasonal menu but in looking around didn't see anyone eating the food it featured- how odd. I asked one of the waitresses if it was being served and she said 'no'. No explanation or anything else. So, the Early bird menu it was £14 for 2 courses or £18 for 3. I chose:- Ham hock ballontine, minted pea and pancetta salad : followed by Seared bavette steak served rare, mashed potato, spring greens and beef jus the Mr ordered Chicken liver parfait and also the Bavette steak. I'd asked for my main cooked 'medium' and the waiter said ' you do know that will make your meat tough?' I thought his approach a little rude but merely dismissed him with a 'yes'. We managed to distract a waitress passing (no easy feat) to order some 'homemade pork crackling' while we waited. Our starters arrived quick enough and although nice, there was too much parfait and no bread or toast to accompany the ham hock which too the shine off things. Our plates were cleared in a timely manner but there was then a delay in getting our main course but no explanation was given. When our main was served, i asked which was the 'medium' and the waitress clearly didn't know, merely looked at the plates and pointed to the one she had set down in front of me and said 'that one'- it was no more well done than the one in front of Mr.!!! I also noted that my plate wasn't exactly clean- it was greasy and smeared around the edge but seeing as we'd waited longer than I thought necessary I just got on with it. By now the bar area had become crowded with a large party of people for a birthday so the noise level increased massively and they were all stood watching us eat- quite unnerving to say the least. The food was OK , not exactly hot and more rare than I would have dared elsewhere. We ate but I'd safely say we weren't blown away by the food, the service, the venue or any of the experience. When we finished we asked immediately for the bill- we were brought the one for the adjoining table and then ours a few minutes later. We paid the bill £33.70 which wasn't expensive in the slightest but we won't be making any special effort to return again. The atmosphere was strained, we had 3 different servers and feel that the whole place is lacking somewhat.
